Lucas quickly put on his armor and grabbed his sword as he dashed out of his room, startling the servants near his room as they looked at him in shock as he quickly went down the stairs, his armor making noise which caught the attention of his parents as they came out of a room to find him in armor.
"Son?" Leif called out in confusion alongside his wife. "The enemy soldiers are attacking!" Lucas shouted as he dashed without stopping as his words caused the eyes of his parents to widen alongside the servants. "What!?" All of them shouted in shock at his sudden declaration. But Lucas didn't wait for a response as he threw open the doors of the entrance as be spotted Falkor who was currently chilling on the ground, though he did sense his Master and looked at him. "Get ready to fly!" Lucas shouted as the Wyvern's eyes narrowed in response as it let out a light roar. Falkor raised his wings as he raised his body up using his legs as Lucas jumped onto his back as he steadied himself as the wyvern raised himself from the group using his wings as Lucas looked at him. "Roar Falkor!" Lucas shouted in urgency. The wyvern obeyed immediately as it let out a roar that can be heard a long way and it scared many of the people and soldiers who heard it. But for Aslaug and Kriemhild, it was a signal as their eyes widened before they took their equipment before dashing out of the house, both in armor as they were ready. "Lucas!" Leif shouted as he saw his son on the back of his wyvern. "Get everyone ready!" Lucas shouted to his father as he nodded. "I will!" Leif shouted back as he realised that his son is being very serious right now. Lucas nodded as he then had Falkor fly towards the girls house as they flew through the air. Since the people were familiar with Falkor, they became a bit at ease at his appearance, but they were still fidgety due to the roar. Lucas meanwhile spotted Aslaug and Kriemhild running through the streets as he landed Falkor down as they stopped in front of him. "Get on!" Lucas shouted as they immediately obeyed. "What's happening?" Aslaug asked as the two of them got on the wyvern. "The soldiers of Sweden have invaded. We have to go and slow them down before the army can fully prepare. The Royal mage should already know about this." Lucas said to them as Falkor rose into the air with the three of them. "So they really are attacking huh. But why would they do something like that after such a defeat?" Aslaug asked as she looked at him. She could understand some of the soldiers and people being disgruntled at the loss they had suffered and would want to get revenge. But she didn't understand why the entire army would attack, wouldn't they be afraid of Lucas and Falkor, especially since they had shown the ability to kill two full blooded dragons. "I have no idea. But we can't give them too much of an advantage." Lucas said as he steered Falkor towards the border as the wyvern let out a roar and flew in the direction. "Oh yeah, Kriemhild, this is the sword I enchanted for you." Lucas said as he gave the sword to Kriemhild as she was surprised. "Th-Thank you Lord Lucas. I'm truly grateful for such a gift." Kriemhild said in shock as she looked at the sword which has runes etched onto it. "If you wish to thank me then use that sword and fight to the best of your ability and survive." Lucas said to her as he looked at him. "Of course my lord. I will not disappoint you." Kriemhild said to him as she felt motivated at his words. "Already giving her an enchanted sword. I don't know whether you are too trusting or not." Aslaug said to him as she looked at him. "I just wanted her to have a better chance at survival. Besides, she is my subordinate, and I will not let my subordinate fight without good equipment if I can help it." Lucas said to her as he was resolute in his words. Kriemhild's eyes widened when she heard that as she felt great admiration for her Lord due to how resolute he looked in front of her. He was also willing to give her a sword that is inscribed using runes, which was quite valuable and not easily available to others. 'I cannot let the trust that Lord Lucas has placed in me go to waste.' Kriemhild thought to herself as she strapped the sword to her hip and made sure that it was secure. Aslaug meanwhile kept a watch forward as he was also ready to call upon her sword when the time for battle comes, but she is holding off on it until they are actually in front of the enemy soldiers. Falkor was flying very quickly through the air as his wings sliced through the winds as he flew with the three people on his back as he was ready for battle as well. His eyes narrowed as he spotted soldiers in the distance as he let out a growl which garnered the attention of the three on his back. "Looks like he has seen the enemy. Be ready to fight." Lucas said to them seriously as they nodded. 'Tch. Damn mortals. I haven't even been able to get another battle with him and they are already coming for another defeat.' Aslaug thought to herself as she was feeling quite displeased due to the situation. But she decided to focus on the battle in front of her first before doing anything else as she would have the chance to battle and defeat Lucas after this and she will show him what the difference between the two of them are. "Now! Fire!" Lucas shouted as Falkor roared as they neared the soldiers. The soldiers themselves shot arrows at them but Falkor spewed fire out of his mouth to take care of it as he flew near them and then shot fire at the enemy soldiers. The mages however created a barrier to protect themselves from the fire as the wyvern made a noise of displeasure. Lucas gave the signal with his hands as Falkor flew high as he dodged the magical attacks from the other mages and the arrows as he roared as Aslaug looked at the army in displeasure. "To think that so many would come here. I don't have the time nor patience to play with you mortals!" Aslaug shouted as she jumped from the wyvern's back. "My lady!" Kriemhild shouted in shock as the demigoddess jumped down as Lucas smirked at her actions. "She will cause some chaos and discord. Kriemhild, stay on his back and keep your hold firm. Falkor will do the rest." Lucas said as he got ready to jump as well. "L-Lord Lucas, what are you going to do?" Kriemhild asked him in surprise. "I am going to join her of course. Do you wish to join us?" Lucas asked her as he got ready to jump. "B-But I am not confident that I will be able to jump from such a height." Kriemhild said to him as she glanced back down and back at him. "I see. Falkor, keep to the skies and use your fire to attack. Do not get near them." Lucas ordered the wyvern as it let out a growl of agreement. "L-Lord Lucas!" Kriemhild cried out as she was picked up by Lucas in a princess carry. He then jumped down without much ceremony as the two fell into a portal as it closed while the magical attacks and arrows flew without purchase. This confused the army before the two emerged from another portal a few feet above them as Kriemhild shouted in fear while Lucas laughed in jubilation as he let go of her. Lighting covered his left arm as he shot them and attacked several mages as they cried out in pain from the attack while also clearing a short space for them to land as the two drew their blades and looked at the enemy. "Let the slaughter begin." Lucas said with a grin on his face. A/N: What are your thoughts about this book?Latest Chapter
Chapter 69
Olivia couldn't believe what was happening right now. She had entered the throne room, ready to fight against the enemy prince. But right after she had dodged the energy attack from Eric, a smaller attack had hit her, and to her surprise she didn't feel any pain from him, which was confusing for her and concerning. And then before she was able to think about the attack, her body moved forward, her arms curled around the shaft of her spear as she slashed her spear, right towards Lucas. This alarmed her as she wasn't able to stop herself as she felt fear, and then relief when he had parried her attack and pushed her back. But then she saw Master Andvaranaut attack him with his spear as well as he also parried the attack and made the man fall back. And she saw Kriemhild attacking him from behind as he was moving to protect himself, but Aslaug appeared as she met with Kriemhild and pushed her back which gave her more relief. Which was when Olivia saw the yellow glow in her master'
Chapter 68
Lucas and his companions stormed the palace as they charged in through the main door and ran as they didn't find any guards there, but they kept running to find the mage and stop this war. They ascended a flight of steps to get to the throne room. But they were met with the sight of more than 100 soldiers who were ready with their weapons as they immediately honed in on the intruders. "Attack!" The commander shouted as the soldiers ran. Arrows and magic flew towards them as Lucas and Aslaug charged forward and sliced the magical attacks while the others followed their lead while dodging the arrows as the enemy soldiers were charging at them at the same time. Olivia wreathed her spear with lightning as she threw it as it sailed through the air and impaled through a line of soldiers and stabbed through the heart of a mage, before it yanked itself out and flew back towards Olivia as she grabbed it as she met the soldiers blades with her alongside the rest. Andvaranaut had noticed ho
Chapter 67
Lucas and his group charged through the territory as they passed by civilians and soldiers, the latter of which they dispatched off pretty quickly, as it was quite easy for Lucas to do so with his magic. He also had held from Olivia and Andvaranaut as they also used their spears to shoot lightning at the enemies, the two weapons were given to them by the court mage and they were pretty reliable weapons. Aslaug watched them and frowned as her own sword is unable to do the same thing, which makes her limited in terms of range, which in hindsight would've been useful when she had first fought against Lucas. 'Hmm, I guess that is a limitation I have.' Aslaug thought to herself as she rode the horse as they charged at the castle. Of course, the way to the castle wasn't quite easy as there were soldiers that tried to kill them but they were dispatched off quickly as they made the horses run faster as they felt the wind over their faces and skin as they charged, it was true for Lucas,
Chapter 66
Lucas felt his power increase as the runes were becoming more attuned to his body as his own body was getting used to them as well as they were harmonizing as he ran towards the golems and his own brats as the others followed on their foot as they charged at the enemies. Alpha and the rest of the boys also noticed their Lord and the army coming towards them with Lucas at their helm. the guy himself nodded to them as he approached as they smiled at his acknowledgement, but focused back on the battle as they knew that it had more priority at the moment. Lucas charged forward, not about to let this opportunity go by as Aslaug immediately followed after him, being the only one who is equal ground to him, followed by Andvaranaut, Olivia and Kriemhild as they charged. He reached the nearest golem as his sword sang as he slashed it's leg as he passed one of his boys as he slashed off its right arm, grabbed it to have leverage before he plunged the sword into the golems head, got a foot
Chapter 65
Lucas couldn't believe his eyes as he saw the golems that were attacking them as he couldn't help but squint his eyes as he saw the things. His irritation growing at how much of a problem this new mage was being to them and how much he wanted to end his life so that he doesn't have to deal with all these things. By now the rest of his group had also spotted the golems as many of the soldiers paled at the sight while Andvaranaut, Olivia and Kriemhild were tense as they saw them. Aslaug just frowned as she looked at the golems, her expression hidden by the helmet. Lucas licked his lips as he growled at the sight of the enemy, the image of his wyvern being hurt was etched into his mind as he could vividly recall the sight of his charred chest and damaged wings. He was going to make them pay for what they have done. "Why don't you use your portals to just send them back." Andvaranaut asked him as they had moved back due to the assault. "It still costs me energy to use my magic. I don
Chapter 64
The soldiers watched with wide eyes as the portal devoured the attacks from the enemy as they were awed by the sight in front of them as Lucas grit his teeth while the others watched. "Woah." Olivia said in awe at the sight. "Impressive." Andvaranaut said with a nod. "Master Lucas..." Kriemhild said in awe at the giant portal in front of her. The other soldiers who are being protected by him were also awed as they watched the deadly attacks being taken into the portal as he himself is gritting his teeth to ensure that the portal is stable and stays open, otherwise then the soldiers behind him are sure to die, while the more skilled ones would at least be able to dodge the attacks. Aslaug watched the spectacle as she gripped her sword tight as she saw the magic he is using as she watched the powerful attacks being devoured, and she knew that he would also be able to do the same thing to her if he wanted to. Lucas kept his focus as he kept the portal open until the attack wa
