Chapter 6 : Active luck system

Queen Avtar smiled faintly; if the fat man were guilty, he certainly wouldn’t be able to escape the Fairy Forest, which was full of illusions. He would surely be trapped there forever and would never come to see her.

It was utterly impossible for the Fairy Forest to set free someone with an evil soul. Such a person would be trapped there for the rest of their life.

“Queen, should we welcome the chosen man?” asked one of Queen Avtar’s attendants.

“There’s no need to welcome him—he’ll never come here!” Queen Avtar said with a smile.

This agreement had been made by her father before his death. King Roland had chosen the man selected by the Avtar Land heirloom to be his daughter’s companion.

Queen Avtar looked annoyed; this time, she had to disregard her father’s orders. Because that fat man had already broken the rules.

If that fat man is proven guilty and trapped in the Fairy Forest, she will forcibly take the double-edged heirloom sword and choose anew who is worthy of it.

The leader of the Land of Avtar must be a strong, wise, and handsome man—not a fat man who resorts to underhanded tactics just to live comfortably.

Arthur awoke from his sleep; he stretched and prepared to continue his journey.

It seemed he had slept too long; a lot of time had been wasted. However, his body felt much lighter, and he no longer felt hungry or tired.

Arthur was shocked when he saw his own reflection. 

Was he seeing things? Arthur then felt his own face, arms, and legs. The fat had simply vanished. 

Wait—yesterday he’d worked out until he nearly lost his life. On top of that, he’d had to endure excruciating hunger, yet he’d only lost 7 kg. Now, all of a sudden, he’d woken up with a perfect physique.

Was he dreaming? But why did it feel so real?

No, this wasn’t a dream! It was real. He felt pain when he slapped his own cheek.

A monitor screen suddenly appeared before Arthur, stating that the luck system of the double-edged heirloom sword had become bound to his soul.

Arthur felt incredibly happy. That meant whatever he wanted, he could get easily.

The monitor screen added that the luck system would activate only if he had sincere intentions and no malicious thoughts. After saying that, the system monitor disappeared again.

“No problem. I’m sure my life will be much better,” Arthur muttered.

Arthur decided to continue his journey. He had to pass through ten villages and seven cities. Only then would he reach Avtar Palace. However, what Arthur didn’t know was that after passing through the ten villages and seven cities, he would have to traverse the Fairy Forest; only if he managed to make it out would he reach Avtar Palace. On the other hand, if he failed, he would be trapped forever in the Fairy Forest.

“Why are so many women in this village staring at me? Is there something wrong with my face?” Arthur asked himself. He felt quite uncomfortable with the way the women in this village were looking at him.

“Excuse me, sir. I’m the village chief’s daughter. May I ask where you’re headed? It seems you’re not from this village,” she asked in a coy voice.

“I’m not from this village; I intend to go to Avtar Palace,” Arthur replied with a faint smile.

“Avtar Palace is still very far away. If you don’t mind, you’re welcome to rest at my house.” Many women in the village looked enviously at the village chief’s daughter, but they could only watch from a distance.

“I’m sorry, I don’t mean to turn down your offer. I’ve just had a rest, so I can’t possibly rest again—that would just be a waste of time. I want to get to Avtar Palace as soon as possible,” Arthur replied.

“Sir, if I may ask, why are you going to Avtar Palace? It’s a very long journey—is there something very important you need to attend to?” asked the Village Chief’s daughter.

“I do have important business at Avtar Palace; I’ll be working there.” Arthur didn’t tell the villagers that he had been chosen by the legendary heirloom of the Land of Avtar.

“You’re so amazing to be able to work at the Palace,” she said with a smile.

“Thank you. I’m sorry, but I must continue my journey.” Arthur gave a faint smile and then left, walking away from the Village Chief’s daughter.

The Village Chief’s daughter looked annoyed, but there was nothing she could do to stop Arthur from leaving. Her guards were clearly no match for him. Anyone chosen to work at the Palace must be incredibly powerful.

Arthur was extremely annoyed—ever since his body had become slim again, so many women had been flirting with him and approaching him. Throughout his journey, countless women had deliberately come up to him, offered him food, and even openly flirted with him.

Arthur sighed. Was his charm really that extraordinary now that his physique was perfect?

Arthur had already passed through ten villages; now there were only seven cities left. In the cities, there were various creatures living there—not just ordinary humans like in the villages. So he had to be more vigilant.

There were also more women in the cities. If they were as busy flirting with him as the women in the villages, it would take him even longer to reach Avtar Palace. Yet he couldn’t wait to meet Queen Avtar.

Just how beautiful and captivating is Queen Avtar?

“Can I enjoy this journey through the city without any distractions?” Arthur muttered, looking despondent.

Arthur set off again. He stopped only a few times to eat. As it turned out, no one bothered him—the women in the city weren’t as aggressive as those in the villages. He smiled slightly; this journey would be much faster. Just six more cities to go, and he’d arrive at Avtar Palace.

Arthur looked around in puzzlement at the old buildings in this city. He should have already reached Avtar Palace; he clearly remembered passing through seven cities.

Had he taken a wrong turn and gotten lost in this strange place?

This city was also very quiet, as if it were uninhabited.

“You only have three hours to get out. If you reach the time limit, you’ll be trapped here forever!” Arthur could only hear a voice without knowing who was speaking.

“Who are you? What do you mean? I don’t understand!” Arthur shouted.

There was no reply; it seemed the person had already left.

Arthur walked cautiously; he had to find a way out before the three hours were up, or real danger would strike.
