Arthur had walked quite a distance, but he hadn’t come across a single person here. Was he the only one trapped in this strange place? And this strange place really was deserted.

Arthur stopped in his tracks when someone called his name. He looked back to see who had called him.

His eyes widened in surprise when he realized who had called his name. It was his parents.

His biological parents! But weren’t they already dead? How could they be alive again in this place? Could it be that his parents were also trapped inside this comic, just like him?

But that’s impossible!

Their faces and bodies looked exactly the same, and they had died when he was still a teenager. Why hadn’t their bodies and faces aged?

Arthur stared at them warily. They were clearly not his parents!

“Arthur, come with us. Mom has made your favorite meal: red-roasted chicken and vegetables,” said the beautiful woman with a smile.

Arthur shook his head; they were clearly not his parents. But how did that woman know his favorite food?

The woman spread her arms wide as if to welcome Arthur into her embrace. Arthur’s eyes welled up; he desperately wanted to hug her. It had been 10 years since his parents left—of course he missed them.

‘No! They’re just a trap. They aren’t his parents.’

Arthur ran as fast as he could, leaving the two people who looked like his parents behind.

They screamed and cried hysterically, as if trying to stop Arthur from leaving.

Arthur paid no attention to their screams and kept running away from them. He didn’t want to be trapped by someone posing as his parents; if he stayed there, he would surely be trapped.

Arthur was gasping for breath; luckily, they weren’t chasing him.

“Damn it! Why did they have to disguise themselves as my parents?” Arthur grumbled.

“I have to find a way out of here right away!” Just as he was about to continue on his way, Arthur saw a huge pile of gold and silver coins by the side of the road.

“I do like money, but if it just suddenly appears by the side of the road, isn’t that really strange?” Thinking it was another trap, Arthur immediately walked away, ignoring the coins.

As soon as Arthur walked away, the coins suddenly vanished into thin air.

Arthur felt annoyed; it seemed like this place was full of traps designed to tempt him into letting his guard down. The traps seemed to make him happy at first, before he was truly trapped.

Suddenly, three strange creatures appeared, glaring at Arthur with angry eyes and ready to attack.

Arthur tried to draw his double-edged heirloom sword, but it refused to come out and remained hidden in its sheath.

Without the double-edged heirloom sword, there was no way he could fight those three strange creatures. He didn’t have any power yet!

His face looked utterly frustrated as he gazed at the giant three-headed snake and the giant tiger. He wasn’t even sure he could take on those three strange creatures alone, let alone the two giant beasts intent on devouring him alive.

Was he going to die right here?

Running away would be pointless anyway; one of the three creatures was holding a fireball in its hand. If he just ran off, that fireball could easily chase him down and burn him alive.

“Please give me a chance to live—Mother Emely still needs me,” Arthur muttered, closing his eyes tightly.

Arthur felt that his body was fine; he didn’t feel any attacks. Slowly, he opened his eyes. In front of him were little fairies looking at him happily.

The three-headed snake and the giant tiger were gone. This place had also transformed into a breathtakingly beautiful forest.

The little fairies surrounded Arthur joyfully, because he had successfully overcome the power of their illusions.

So it was all just an illusion? Luckily, he hadn’t been tempted at all, and his logic had saved him from that trap.

Perhaps that last trap—if he had fought back, he might have been trapped forever in the Forest of Illusions.

“You’ve escaped the Fairy Forest; now you can continue on to Avtar Palace,” said one of the fairies.

“That’s the exit from this forest.” Arthur saw the bright light that one of the fairies was pointing to. Before leaving, he thanked the fairies.

Arthur walked toward the light; he had escaped the Forest of Illusions, and soon he would arrive at Avtar Palace.

“Damn it! So that man escaped the Forest of Illusions. I must ask the Witches for help to lock him up in Alaska Prison. If the Witches succeed in sealing him away, he won’t be able to meet Queen Avtar. The bad rumors about him will be proven true. Queen Avtar will forcibly take the double-edged heirloom sword from him.” It turned out that ever since Arthur began his journey, someone had been watching him the whole time.

His eyes were blood-red, like those of a Dragon leader when he loses control. That person vanished, using his power to carry out his next plan. He wouldn’t let that man meet Queen Avtar first.

Arthur smiled happily; from quite a distance, he could already see the gates of Avtar Palace.

Avtar Palace was truly extraordinary—huge and magnificent. Arthur gazed at it in awe. He never expected to make it this far, let alone meet Queen Avtar.

Just as Arthur was about to take another step forward, suddenly fifteen people appeared before him.

“Are these people from the Palace here to welcome me?” Arthur wondered.

Arthur smiled warmly at them. However, they stared at him with piercing gazes.

Two of them chanted a spell, and before long, Arthur’s body was tightly bound with chains. They then took Arthur away.

Loud laughter rang out as the Wizards successfully captured Arthur.

“That man will be sealed away forever in Alaska Prison—he’ll never be able to escape!” The man looked overjoyed that his plan had succeeded. He intended to celebrate his victory.

He would serve a sumptuous feast and wait for Queen Avtar to return to claim the heirloom sword. When that day came, he was certain the sword would choose him.

There wasn’t a single wild animal in these forests.Arthur smiled slightly when he spotted a village with inhabitants.
