Chapter 25

“Hey, mom!” Dianna snuggled around her mother with a giggle.

Mrs. Lampton hugged her tightly and proceeded to caress her back tenderly like a puppy. “Such a brilliant performance, darling. I wasn’t expecting less. My daughter always outshines.” She remarked proudly.

Dianna looked up at her mother with dilating pupils. “Thank you so much, mom. Thank you guys for showing up tonight.”

“You’re welcome.”

There was silence from her father’s end which was quite strange to Dianna. He would always be the first to applaud her performance. When she pulled away from her mother’s embrace, she saw her father, away from them. He was pulling the car door rather than waiting for the guards to do it.

Mrs. Lampton sighed. “I think you should speak with him.”

Dianna agreed with a reluctant nod and joined her father in the back seat. Mrs. Lampton also joined them in the backseat. The chauffeur drove away.
