Lights were flickering, a red carpet was spread across the entrance, allowing the busy people to attend, and the place was decorated beautifully. It was one of the Smith’s family properties: the Green Heart Building, a western-style hotel.

Karina arrived at the venue along with her female secretary. A curvy figure with a blue shimmering frock and a cu on her thigh and V-shoulders, she was looking breath-taking.

She paired the dress with a white-colored diamond necklace and matching earrings. Her eyes were tinted with blue and white eyeshades; Kajal, mascara, and a wing eye liner added a positive touch to her looks. Her lips were painted cherry red and they were looking so tempting. Everyone was stunned after looking at her beauty and murmured something among themselves. Her long, wavy black curs were left down freely.

Even Karina’s assistant was stunned by the look of the hotel and they both entered the venue. While they were both chatting about business and opportunities, Alex approached them. He was wearing a three-piece blue suit paired with a Rolex watch, branded goggles, and sharp black shoes. His hair was perfectly gelled and combed to the side.

“I would help your company get a partnership with the Smith family. Feel free to ask for my help; if you find it difficult, I will make it easy for you,” Alex boasted in front of Karina. However, she didn’t pay any attention or heed to his words but her secretary felt extremely thankful to Alex, who was ready to help them.

Meanwhile, while Karina was looking here and there, she found Nathan standing in one of the luxury cars. She stepped forward to apologize to him and explain why she behaved like that but she stopped herself after looking at Gwen coming out of the car. After noticing that Gwen was also equally beautiful as her, she stopped herself.

She glanced at Nathan, who was wearing a white 4-piece suit along with a touch of black color, branded goggles, a watch, and neatly combed air, which made him look handsome, and the cufflinks turned into a value-added service.

Gwen and Nathan walked inside and Karina, who wanted to apologize to Nathan, couldn’t do that because of the presence of Gwen. So she greeted him normally. Karina was extremely dissatisfied that Nathan found a female companion so quickly, and her face was filled with disdain.

“Nathan, who was she?” Gwen asked him directly. Without beating around the bush, he directly answered,

“Meet Karina Blackwood. She is my ex-wife,” Nathann introduced her to Gwen.

After hearing that she is the ex-wife of Nathan, Gwen developed comparisons and hostility towards Karina. Her behavior and thoughts about her changed dramatically.

"Why have I never seen or heard about this woman earlier?” Karina inquired, to which he replied,

“You are always a busy woman working as the CEO of Blackwood Company. When do you have time for me? So, it seems that you never heard about it from me. "Nathan questioned her calmly but there was a mockery in his voice. After listening to it, Karina stayed silent for a while.

“Nathan, can you please come aside? There is something I need to talk about with you,” Karina said, breaking the awkward silence between them.

“For what? Whatever you wanted to say, say it here only,” Nathan rejected, as he didn’t want anyone to think that they both still had some relationship after the divorce. Karina originally wanted to apologize to him for her distrust and explain to him but when he asked her to talk in front of everyone, she didn’t want to do that.

Karina felt the indifference of Nathan towards her and wondered how he could change himself and his attitude within a few minutes.

“What’s the problem with you? Why do you ignore me to such a great extent? Karina questioned Nathan.

“You know the answer by yourself. Nathan responded in a chilly manner, "You asked for this, and a useless person like me will never be able to compete with a person like Karina, the CEO of Blackwood."

Karina felt angry after looking at Nathan with another woman, so she simply covered her mistakes.

“It wasn’t my mistake. A person like you who never knows how to earn a penny really doesn’t deserve a girl like me. So stop blaming me and if you really trust yourself, prove it to me." Karina felt insulted by looking at Nathan talking with her in a rude manner in front of some other girl.

“What was the relationship between you, Alex?” Nathan questioned Karina straight-forwardly. They two also attended a business party together and Karina had a clear conscience and knew what she was doing. But at the same time, Alex reached there.

When Nathan spotted Alex, he misunderstood that they were both really close.

Alex's eyes landed on Gwen, who was looking splendid and wanted to know more about her but looking at Nathan accompanying her he felt jealous. In a pit of rage, Alex said,

“Mr. Nathan, you used to work as a cleaner for Blackwood’s company. And a person like you won’t ever be able to enter Smith's family business.”

“Oh, you care about me so much, isn’t it, Mr. Alex?"Don’t worry about entering the company or not but protect yourself from throwing out,” Nathan said in his cold voice. However, after hearing his warning, Alex felt he was cheating on Gwen to enter the Smith’s family business party.

“So you are here cheating with Miss. Gwen to enter the high-class party?” Alex looked down at Nathan. Even before Nathan opened his mouth and answered, Gwen decided to play along.

“Oh, who needs money every time? See how handsome he looks and I am already flattening his muscular body. I just want to accompany him along with me. I don’t care even if he is cheating with me to enter the company event and I would gladly allow him to do so,” Gwen replied, hiding her original identity as the heir of the Smith family and playing along with Alex.
