2026-10-06 19:40:24When Leo finished looking through the papers, he stood up. It still felt like a dream, but everything was real. Mr. Harris walked in with a black card and a set of car keys.
“Young master, this card is for you,” Mr. Harris said. “It has no limit.”
Leo blinked. “How much is on it?”
“Just ten billion dollars for now. I already ordered a hundred-billion-dollar card. Please use this one until it arrives.”
Leo did not know whether to laugh or cry. He held the card and stared at it for a long moment.
“So this really has ten billion on it?”
Mr. Harris sighed. “Young master, I know it is small. Just manage with it for a short time.”
Leo still felt confused. Ten billion was more money than he had ever seen.
“May I have your phone number?” Mr. Harris asked.
Leo gave it to him. Then Mr. Harris held out the car keys.
“I do not want any cars,” Leo said. “I want to keep a low profile until I get used to all this.”
Mr. Harris nodded. Leo checked the time. It was getting late. He left the big house.
Now that he had money, he still could not fully believe it. Part of him wanted to spend some right away. He rubbed his temples. He had not bought Mia anything nice in a long time. And Lily needed new clothes too. Sophie, Mia’s cousin, always wore expensive brands. Leo wanted Mia to have better ones. He wanted Sophie’s clothes to look cheap next to them.
He took a taxi straight to Skyline Mall, the biggest shopping center in Summerville. When the taxi stopped, his phone buzzed. A message from the Cashless app popped up.

Leo almost dropped the phone. It had to be Mr. Harris. That was why the butler had asked for his number. The amount was still too big. He did not think he would ever spend that much.
He stood in front of Skyline Mall and looked up. The place felt huge. Only rich people shopped here. The cheapest car in the parking lot probably cost a million dollars. Leo had never stepped inside before. He used to work hard just to stay in the Parker family. Things were different now. From the papers he had seen, he actually owned this whole mall.
A security guard at the entrance frowned when he saw Leo’s simple clothes. Still, he forced a smile.
“Welcome, sir.”
Leo nodded. No one had ever greeted him like that before. Usually he was the one who bowed first.
The guard watched him walk in and thought, This guy is just looking around. Maybe he wants to steal something. His clothes look cheap.
Inside, the mall smelled clean and expensive. Soft lights and shiny floors made everything look perfect. Leo had never been in a place like this. He decided to go into a famous clothing store he had only seen online.
A saleswoman smiled the moment he stepped in.
“Welcome, sir.”
Leo was surprised. She did not look down on him.
“I want to buy nice clothes for my wife and little daughter,” he said.
The saleswoman kept smiling. Leo did not look rich, but she decided to treat him well anyway.
“No problem, sir. What sizes do they need?”
Leo told her. She quickly pulled out dresses that looked soft and pretty. Leo chose several that would look good on Mia and Lily.
“I will take all of these,” he said.
The saleswoman nodded. “Sir, would you like anything for yourself? We have good clothes for men too.”
Leo had only thought about Mia and Lily. They had suffered enough because of him. He wanted to see them smile. Still, maybe he should get something for himself too.
“Okay. Show me what you have.”
The saleswoman’s eyes lit up. The clothes Leo had already picked cost tens of thousands of dollars. If he paid, she would get a big bonus. She hoped he was not playing a trick.
Leo picked a few shirts and pants. “Can I try them on?”
“Of course. This way, please.”
She showed him to the fitting room and waited outside.
Leo did not close the door all the way. He tried on the shirts one by one. The saleswoman could see him from where she stood. She blushed a little. Leo had a strong build under his old clothes. He decided to take everything. He did not want to waste time. Lily was probably waiting at home.
“I will take all of them,” he said when he came out.
“Okay, sir.”
The saleswoman was still a bit red in the face as she led him to the counter. Leo was looking around the store when he bumped into someone. A woman’s bag fell to the floor.
Leo bent down quickly to pick it up. A man’s angry voice cut through the air.
“Are you blind? Didn’t you see her coming?”
“Sorry, sorry,” Leo said.
He lifted his head to hand the bag back.
His eyes went wide.
It was Mia.
And standing next to her was another man.
