"You don't plan on going over there,do you?" Tory asked with a raised eyebrow while they mop the floor of the hall way.

"I am going. She plans on introducing me to her whole family." Scott replied, also mopping the floor.

"And then what? They just accept you?" Tory questioned.

"I hope so. All i have to do is relax and put on my best behaviour. Those people might not be as bad as you think they are. Not all rich people look down on the poor, you know. Some are different." Scott answered back.

"Tell me any rich person you know that isn't proud." Tory sounded.

Scott wanted to mention his name but just decided to remain cool. Even if Scott was a multi trillionaire back home,he has never for once treated the poor badly.

He has always treated everyone equally without any impartiallity.

"That's what i thought." Since Scott just remained silent after the question,Tory took it as a No.

"If things get out of hand i could always leave the house. You don't have to worry." Scott assured, tapping Tory's shoulder and continuing his work.

Hours later,Scott was done with his morning shift and was now on his lunch break. Scott grabbed his backpack and headed out of the company still dressed in his work uniform.

Since he knows he would still be returning back to work there was no need to start undressing and dressing back up.

Scott boarded a taxi to take him straight to the Fernando residence.

***

The mansion of the Fernando family was already crowded with people. Family members and friends gathered together to celeberate Malcolm's mother 81st birthday.

Lots of gifs and foods filled the living room and hip hops music was playing loudly.

"Happy birthday grandma." Caroline said, hugging her grandmother.

"Thank you,My grand daughter." Grandma Nene replied. "I heard your fiance would be coming over?"

"Ah,Yes,He should be here any minute from now." Caroline replied with a look of anticipation.

Scott arrived in the mansion and headed straight to the door. Based on the noise Scott could hear from wherw he stood,he was sure a party was going on inside.

Scott hesitated for a while before pushing the door bell.

Few seconds after ringing the bell, the entrance door swung open and a striking young man came in view.

Sporting black hair, handsome face, and nice fits. Pedro Sergio.

"Uh..Who are you?" Pedro questioned with a disdainful glare

"I'm here to see Caroline. She invited me over." Scott replied, unbothered by his looks.

"That's weird. I never knew she called in a cleaner to clear out the trash." Pedro sounded with a confused look.

"I am not a cleaner." Scott responded. "Actually,I am a cleaner, but i am not here as a cleaner." Scott now regretting why he didn't change his clothes.

But if we were being honest,Wearing this cleaner uniform was better than wearing that tattered hoodie and faded trousers.

"If you are not here as a cleaner, what are you here for?" Pedro inquired.

"I am here as Caroline's fiance because she invited me over for lunch. Now if you would be so kind to inform her that i am outside." Scott stated.

Pedro began to laugh out loud. "You are her what?" Pedro asked after the long laugh.

"You heard me right." Scott uttered. "I am the one she's getting married to."

Pedro shot Scott with irritated glares after hearing the words he spoke. He still wasn't sure if Scott was being serious or not,so he invited him in to confirm.

Entering inside the mansion,Scott swept his gaze around. The inside was far different from what he saw yesterday.

The walls was now filled with so many decorations and disco lights that shone brightly. Loud music played and people dancing to the tune here and there.

People began to give Scott dusgusting glares after catching a glimpse of him. What the hell was a guy like this doing inside the mansion of Malcolm Fernando?.

Pedro walked up to the Fernando family to inform them of Scott's presence.

"Where exactly is the fiance?" Caroline's brother,Luis, asked while glancing around the living room.

"That's him over there." Pedro relied, pointing towards the area Scott stood dressed like a poor cleaner.

The whole family remained silent for some seconds before breaking out in laughter.

"Really,Sis? That guy?" Luis asked with a look of disapointment. "That guy is ment to clean out trash not marry the daughter of Malcolm Fernando."

"That's because you don't know him well." Caroline stated, walking over to where Scott stood. "You came." Caroline said with a big smile on her face.

"Yeah,I came." Scott replied,smiling back.

"Come on,Let me introduce you." Caroline grabbed Scott's arm and pulled him towards the area her family stood.

"Brother Luis,Aunt Zaya,Uncle Sergio,Pedro,Dad,Meet Scott." Caroline introduced. Her arm wrapped around Scott's.

"Nice to meet you trash boy." Pedro mocked and others broke out in laughter.

"Incase you hate your current job,I could always get you another cleaner job since that's where you belog." Aunt Zaya blurtted out with a look of disgust, and others chimed in with laughter.

"I suggest you go marry someone in your league,Trash boy. I wouldn't let you pollute this family with your trash!" Uncle Sergio remarked.

At that moment, the loud music playing already stopped and everyone present were busy listening to their conversation and laughing as the Fernando's humiliated Scott.

"Hey,that's not funny." Caroline countred. "I won't let you talk to my fiance like that!"

"Are you being serious right now?" Pedro voiced. "How can you call this trash your fiance? I am disapointed,Caroline."

"Pedro is right. This boy is not even worthy to date a begger let alone the only daughter of the Fernando family." Luis retorted. "Hey,Trash, why not piss off and go date your fellow riff raff."

"That's enough, all of you!" Mr Malcolm Fernando finally voiced out. "I am the one who would decide whether she will marry him or not."

  • Perez!

The duo ran as fast as they could until they arrived in front of a door near the inventory section. Perez pulled it open, and as they stepped inside, the guards behind them opened fire. But none of the bullets found their mark. Instead, they pierced the walls and the doorframe, leaving small holes in the metal and splintered wood. The room they had entered was vast and hollow, filled with tall, empty wooden shelves. The air was musty and thick with dust. The room was dimly lit—its only source of illumination being a single, flickering bulb dangling from the ceiling. Every few seconds, the bulb would malfunction and plunge the space into complete darkness before sparking back to life with an ominous buzz.Their breathing was heavy. Hearts pounded in their chests as cold sweat trickled down their brows. Both scanned the room with wide, frantic eyes.“Where is this place?” Blake asked, his voice barely above a whisper.“It used to be a storage room,” Perez replied as he slowly advanced.

  • Dead wrong

“What have you done?” Perez blurted out, his voice sharp and alarmed, eyes narrowing as they locked onto the prison officer who had just finished calling reinforcements through his radio. His entire body tensed, every muscle coiled like a spring. The officer returned his glare without a hint of concern. His voice was icy and deliberate.“I just called my fellow comrades,” he said calmly, the radio still crackling faintly in his hand. “They’re all on their way here now.” He took a slow step forward, his gaze unwavering. “No one escapes this place… not alive, anyway.”A chill ran down Perez’s spine. He spun toward Blake, who stood a few paces behind him, still processing the unfolding chaos.“We have to get out of here. Right now.” His tone was firm and commanding—there was no room for debate.Behind them, the officer cracked his neck with a sickening pop, his face hardening. He clenched his fists, the tension in his knuckles audible.“Not on my watch,” he growled. “You’re going nowhere

  • Locked and Loaded

The duo moved further into the room and halted in front of the massive table positioned at the center—an arsenal laid out before them, packed with firearms and ammunition of various types.Perez stepped forward first, reaching for a compact Mini Uzi. He expertly ejected the empty magazine, allowing it to clatter onto the floor, before sliding a fully loaded one into the weapon with a sharp click. He tucked the Uzi into his left pocket and turned to the next weapon—this time, a UMP submachine gun. With the same practiced ease, he removed the spent mag and replaced it with a fresh, full one. Slinging the weapon over his shoulder, Perez didn’t stop there. He grabbed several extra magazines, stuffing them into his pockets as backup, just in case a reload became necessary during a gunfight.Blake, standing beside him, was also deep in selection. He reached out and grabbed an MP5 submachine gun, verifying its load before slinging it over his shoulder. Next, he chose a long-range rifle, expe

“Understood, sir. We’ll head out immediately,” he replied sharply, lowering the radio with a crisp motion.A tense silence hung in the room like a thick fog. Then, without wasting another second, Matt turned on his heel and strode purposefully toward the exit door. The rest of the guards exchanged brief looks before falling into formation behind him. Together, they exited the cafeteria with focused determination, each man stepping in rhythm with the urgency of the command.Perez and Blake remained seated, their eyes tracking the departing guards. As the last officer vanished through the doorway, Perez leaned slightly toward Blake and murmured, his voice no more than a whisper.“Told you. Once they all leave, we move. You heard the guy on the radio. Almost all available guards have been summoned to the market square... which means the only ones left behind are stragglers. Leftovers. Shouldn’t be hard for us to take them out and get the hell out of here.”He spoke calmly, but with a qui

  • Perez unleashed

He lunged forward, swinging a heavy fist toward Perez’s face. But Perez was faster. He ducked beneath the wild punch and retaliated with a brutal strike to Duncan’s gut. The tattooed man grunted, doubling over in pain—WHAM!—just as Perez followed up with a devastating uppercut that landed with a crack loud enough to resemble a gunshot.Duncan collapsed.Flat on his back. Out cold. The entire cafeteria gasped.A sharp, collective silence swallowed the room.Everyone froze, stunned by what had just unfolded before their eyes. Dozens of eyes turned in unison, fixated on Perez, as if trying to comprehend what had just happened. The men who had stood beside Duncan moments earlier instinctively took several steps back, their faces plastered with disbelief and confusion. None of them had expected their leader—a man known for his brute strength—to go down after a single combination. It wasn’t just surprising. It was terrifying. But now wasn’t the time to act like cowards. They knew Duncan.Th

  • Silence the witness

The eyes of Mr. Fernando shot open as he rose to his feet the moment the call disconnected. Blood still dripped from the fresh cut on his cheek, but he showed no sign of discomfort. Calmly, he reached into his coat pocket, pulled out a white handkerchief, and dabbed at the crimson smear, cleaning it away with deliberate strokes. From the shadows behind the pillar, Bolasco also emerged, his boots echoing faintly against the concrete floor as he stepped forward."Well," Felipe began, his voice strained and laced with a twisted sense of hope, "she said she won’t be coming here. Instead, she’ll send her address, and I’ll bring you to her."He smiled faintly, nervously. "You can go over to the address she sends... give her a surprise attack.""Yes, kid," Mr. Fernando replied with a low, predatory grin. "That’s exactly what we’re going to do."Ding!A soft chime echoed through the dimly lit warehouse, its eerie tone bouncing off the rusted walls. Felipe turned his head sharply toward the s
