Back in the Malcolm Fernando mansion, the whole family were gathered in the living room after hearing Caroline's words.

"You are getting married? To who?" Malcolm asked with a smiley face.

"Scott Carden." Caroline sounded with a warm smile.

"Scott? Do i know him? Is he one of the big shot's son in Spain?" Malcolm asked with a confused expression.

Malcolm was a man who dined with presidents and big men around the world everyday. How then hasn't he heard of the guy named Scott Carden?

"You don't know him because he's a nobody." Mrs Sheila chimed in,her voice mixed with anger and disappointment.

"Mom? Don't talk to him like that!" Caroline intoned.

"It's the truth, Caroline. The boy is a poor bastard who's only dating you to spend from your wealth!" Mrs Sheila shouted.

"Scott isn't like that. He's a good and honest guy." Caroline answered back.

"Can you two knock it off already and tell me what's going on?" Malcolm Fernando couldn't take the pandemonium anymore.

"Ask your daughter!" Mrs Sheila voiced out. "She brought in a beggar and said she wants to marry him."

"What? That's impossible!" Malcolm said in disbelief.

"Scott is not a beggar." Caroline spoke up.

"Fine, then. What does he do to earn a living?" Malcolm asked.

Caroline stood there in silence after hearing her dad's question.

"H-H-He's a cleaner." Caroline stuttered.

Mrs Shiela broke out in laughter after hearing Caroline's words.

"A what?" Malcolm asked, his expression mixed with confusion and disbelief.

"I know how it sounds." Caroline replied. "But Scott is a graduate. We could give him a much better job in the company once we get married."

"Can't you see what's going on here? He's using you,Caroline." Mrs Shiela sounded. "Once he gets married to you he starts making crazy demands. We can't let that poor wretch step foot into this house."

"You know what. Let's wait till tomorrow to decide." Malcolm spoke up. "Caroline, Invite this Scott over for lunch tomorrow. Since my whole family would be arriving tomorrow, everyone would get to meet him and decide whether he stays or not."

"So you are going to let that Riff Raff step foot into this house?" Mrs Shiela questioned.

"Let me just get to meet him at least before deciding what to do next." Malcolm replied, walking away and heading upstairs.

***

Relocating to Spain Scott has faced nothing but maltreatments and insult from the rich. Everyone treated him like trash and a nobody just becauae he appeared poor and wretched.

The only person who showed him love and kindness was Caroline Fernando. Even if she was the daughter of one of the whealthiest man in spain, she never treated Scott badly.

And now that it was time to get married, Caroline finally introduced Scott to her mother. But things didn't turn out the way they planned.

***

The morning sun flickered into the small room through the window and shone brightly into the eyes of Scott.

Scott opened his eyes sluggishly and got off the bed.

Picking up his phone, Scott saw an unread message.

"She must have texted me when i was asleep." Scott mused, clicking on the text. The text was from Caroline inviting him over to her house for lunch.

Memories of last night began to flash into Scott's head. How Caroline's mom humiliated him and rained barrage of abuses on him.

Now that Caroline informed him that her whole fimily would be there,Scott feared that something more than yesterday might happen to him.

After thinking for a while,Scott dropped his phone on the bed and walked into the bathroom to get ready for the day's activity.

Moments later,Scott walked out of the bathroom and quickly got dressed in his usual tattered hoodie and faded trousers.

After fully getting dressed,Scott exited the room and headed straight to the company he worked as a cleaner.

***

Scott arrived in the huge company and was greeted with the usual hateful glares and insults here and there.

"You are late, you poor wretch!"

"Why are you always dressed in those stupid clothes? Even beggars would reject them as a gift!"

"Isn't it time for you to die,Scott?! No one needs you in this world!"

Even if Scott never did anything to anger them, they still kept on attacking him because he was a poor cleaner.

But after hearing the same thing over and over again,Scott got used to it and didn't let it bother him anymore.

Scott quickly got changed in his usual blue cleaner uniform.

"Good morning, Scott." A female voice sounded from behind. Turning around, Scott saw a pretty blonde lader also dressed in the same uniform as him, carrying a mop and a bucket.

"Tory." Scott replied,heading towards Tory.

Tory was Scott's partner at work and also his bestfriend. The two has been working together ever since they graduated from high school. They always shared every secrets between eachother, but Scott never mentioned anything about his true identity.

"I heard you were getting married." Tory said with a wink and smirk.

"How come you know about it? I never told you." Scott inquired with a surprised expression.

"There's a saying. Bad news travels fast." Tory replied, dropping the bucket of water on the floor and dipping the mop inside.

"What do you mean bad news? We love each other." Scott sounded.

"Okay, but are you sure she truly loves you? Or will her family accept you?" Tory questioned. "Look at us,Scott,We are broke. Those people are not in our league."

"No,You are mistaken. Caroline loves me. Her parents might not like me, but i know she does." Scott responded.

"If her parent doesn't like you,They would do everything they can to poison her mind against you." Tory warned. "It's better to let it go now, because if you keep holding on to fake promises, it would hurt more when she breaks your heart in the future." Said Tory.

"Let's just see how it goes this afternoon." Scott uttered.

"What do you mean?"

"They invited me over to lunch. And i'll be heading there during my lunch break." Scott replied with a smile.

  • Perez!

The duo ran as fast as they could until they arrived in front of a door near the inventory section. Perez pulled it open, and as they stepped inside, the guards behind them opened fire. But none of the bullets found their mark. Instead, they pierced the walls and the doorframe, leaving small holes in the metal and splintered wood. The room they had entered was vast and hollow, filled with tall, empty wooden shelves. The air was musty and thick with dust. The room was dimly lit—its only source of illumination being a single, flickering bulb dangling from the ceiling. Every few seconds, the bulb would malfunction and plunge the space into complete darkness before sparking back to life with an ominous buzz.Their breathing was heavy. Hearts pounded in their chests as cold sweat trickled down their brows. Both scanned the room with wide, frantic eyes.“Where is this place?” Blake asked, his voice barely above a whisper.“It used to be a storage room,” Perez replied as he slowly advanced.

  • Dead wrong

“What have you done?” Perez blurted out, his voice sharp and alarmed, eyes narrowing as they locked onto the prison officer who had just finished calling reinforcements through his radio. His entire body tensed, every muscle coiled like a spring. The officer returned his glare without a hint of concern. His voice was icy and deliberate.“I just called my fellow comrades,” he said calmly, the radio still crackling faintly in his hand. “They’re all on their way here now.” He took a slow step forward, his gaze unwavering. “No one escapes this place… not alive, anyway.”A chill ran down Perez’s spine. He spun toward Blake, who stood a few paces behind him, still processing the unfolding chaos.“We have to get out of here. Right now.” His tone was firm and commanding—there was no room for debate.Behind them, the officer cracked his neck with a sickening pop, his face hardening. He clenched his fists, the tension in his knuckles audible.“Not on my watch,” he growled. “You’re going nowhere

  • Locked and Loaded

The duo moved further into the room and halted in front of the massive table positioned at the center—an arsenal laid out before them, packed with firearms and ammunition of various types.Perez stepped forward first, reaching for a compact Mini Uzi. He expertly ejected the empty magazine, allowing it to clatter onto the floor, before sliding a fully loaded one into the weapon with a sharp click. He tucked the Uzi into his left pocket and turned to the next weapon—this time, a UMP submachine gun. With the same practiced ease, he removed the spent mag and replaced it with a fresh, full one. Slinging the weapon over his shoulder, Perez didn’t stop there. He grabbed several extra magazines, stuffing them into his pockets as backup, just in case a reload became necessary during a gunfight.Blake, standing beside him, was also deep in selection. He reached out and grabbed an MP5 submachine gun, verifying its load before slinging it over his shoulder. Next, he chose a long-range rifle, expe

“Understood, sir. We’ll head out immediately,” he replied sharply, lowering the radio with a crisp motion.A tense silence hung in the room like a thick fog. Then, without wasting another second, Matt turned on his heel and strode purposefully toward the exit door. The rest of the guards exchanged brief looks before falling into formation behind him. Together, they exited the cafeteria with focused determination, each man stepping in rhythm with the urgency of the command.Perez and Blake remained seated, their eyes tracking the departing guards. As the last officer vanished through the doorway, Perez leaned slightly toward Blake and murmured, his voice no more than a whisper.“Told you. Once they all leave, we move. You heard the guy on the radio. Almost all available guards have been summoned to the market square... which means the only ones left behind are stragglers. Leftovers. Shouldn’t be hard for us to take them out and get the hell out of here.”He spoke calmly, but with a qui

  • Perez unleashed

He lunged forward, swinging a heavy fist toward Perez’s face. But Perez was faster. He ducked beneath the wild punch and retaliated with a brutal strike to Duncan’s gut. The tattooed man grunted, doubling over in pain—WHAM!—just as Perez followed up with a devastating uppercut that landed with a crack loud enough to resemble a gunshot.Duncan collapsed.Flat on his back. Out cold. The entire cafeteria gasped.A sharp, collective silence swallowed the room.Everyone froze, stunned by what had just unfolded before their eyes. Dozens of eyes turned in unison, fixated on Perez, as if trying to comprehend what had just happened. The men who had stood beside Duncan moments earlier instinctively took several steps back, their faces plastered with disbelief and confusion. None of them had expected their leader—a man known for his brute strength—to go down after a single combination. It wasn’t just surprising. It was terrifying. But now wasn’t the time to act like cowards. They knew Duncan.Th

  • Silence the witness

The eyes of Mr. Fernando shot open as he rose to his feet the moment the call disconnected. Blood still dripped from the fresh cut on his cheek, but he showed no sign of discomfort. Calmly, he reached into his coat pocket, pulled out a white handkerchief, and dabbed at the crimson smear, cleaning it away with deliberate strokes. From the shadows behind the pillar, Bolasco also emerged, his boots echoing faintly against the concrete floor as he stepped forward."Well," Felipe began, his voice strained and laced with a twisted sense of hope, "she said she won’t be coming here. Instead, she’ll send her address, and I’ll bring you to her."He smiled faintly, nervously. "You can go over to the address she sends... give her a surprise attack.""Yes, kid," Mr. Fernando replied with a low, predatory grin. "That’s exactly what we’re going to do."Ding!A soft chime echoed through the dimly lit warehouse, its eerie tone bouncing off the rusted walls. Felipe turned his head sharply toward the s
