"The moment of truth..." Marcus's smile widened, then without hesitation, he activated the Energy Eater technique.

Under his excited gaze, strands of purple energy began emerging from the soldier's body and wrapping around Marcus’s hand.

Marcus stopped extracting energy when he saw that the soldier had reached his limit. If he continued, he would start threatening the soldier’s life, and that was something Marcus didn’t want.

He lifted his hand from the soldier's chest, then stared at the purple aura covering his hand. His smile turned into a wide grin.

"It worked..."

He murmured with joy, then narrowed his eyes at the purple aura. With a single thought, the aura moved and began gathering in his palm until it formed a small purple orb the size of a baby’s palm.

"Good, good, good... this opens up limitless possibilities..." Marcus thought as his eyes shone with joy.

He stared at the purple orb, then tossed it into his mouth.

As soon as it entered his jaw, it turned into a purple aura and merged with him, but this time, it didn’t target his energy reserve.

Instead, it disappeared mysteriously.

That’s what Marcus felt when he tried to trace it, but he knew it hadn’t vanished.

He summoned the panel and glanced at the unlock points.

His eyes lit up when they landed on the unlock points.

"Wonderful, 3 points...."

"I didn’t expect the soldier could provide me with three full points... that means he gave 150 units of Eternal Energy..."

He glanced at the soldier’s pale face and fell into deep thought.

"Considering his condition, it seems this is the maximum I can extract from him, but it’s enough, there’s more than one..."

He looked around and stared at the soldiers as if he were looking at treasure.

He placed his hand on his chin and thought:

"There are about 27 soldiers here... hmm! If we assume each one gives 150 units of Eternal Energy, which is 3 unlock points...."

"That provides... around 77 to 80 unlock points..."

"Not enough... but a good start..."

Several thoughts popped into his mind, but he suppressed them, then selected his second target.

Boom!!

As he placed his hand on the soldier's chest and prepared to use the Energy Eater technique, suddenly the ground beneath his feet began to tremble as if an earthquake had struck the area violently. The tremor came accompanied by a thunderous explosion.

"Haaah, damn it, what just happened!?"

Marcus asked with a deep frown.

Before he had time to figure out what was happening, he suddenly felt all his senses screaming at him. His body hair stood on end like a frightened cat.

The wind moved the tent flap, revealing the crimson red light approaching quickly, targeting the tent.

His eyes widened in shock.

"Damn...."

He cursed loudly, then pulled his hand from the soldier’s chest and deactivated the Energy Eater technique, quickly retreating to the farthest part of the tent without caring about the wounded soldiers.

He quickly formed hand seals with both hands before crouching to the ground and pressing his palm firmly.

∆ Earth Style: Earth Wall ∆

Marcus pumped a large amount of Eternal Energy into this technique.

Immediately, a thick wall rose from the ground, three meters high, blocking his view.

Boom!!

Outside, Tina’s eyes widened in shock and anger as she watched, powerless, the giant fireball, about 20 meters in size, falling onto the medical tent.

"No...."

She screamed unconsciously and tried to rush forward, but the shockwave pushed her back forcefully.

"The soldiers... Marcus..."

She ignored the ringing in her ears, steadied herself, then looked with red eyes at the burning crater that was once the medical tent.

Boom!!

Boom!!

Boom!!

The sounds of explosions came from all over the camp.

The once-quiet camp was now in utter chaos. The sounds of screaming soldiers and the clash of metal echoed from weapons colliding.

Boom!!

Tina turned to look behind her where someone had crashed to the ground with great force, kicking up a cloud of dust.

She waved her hand to clear the dust blocking her vision. She could see that the person lying on the ground was wearing enemy uniform. At some point, Dr. Hays had appeared beside her like a ghost.

Before she could ask, Dr. Hays spoke quickly:

"The enemy infiltrated the camp and targeted the wounded and the logistics department..." he gave brief information when he saw the expression on Tina’s face.

He placed his hand on Tina’s shoulder, snapping her out of the shock, and ordered

"Now is not the time for shock. Quickly check the wounded and provide first aid..."

He added before disappearing from the place—or rather, moving at high speed

"Abandon those whose cases are hopeless, focus only on who can be saved..."

Tina bit her lips hard, nodded, then began searching for the wounded. She ignored the medical tent where Marcus was, as that was the most damaged area in the camp, nearly everything there had been obliterated.

Shortly after she left, the voice of someone came from under the rubble in the burning crater.

"Aaagh, this hurts..."

Boom!!

Marcus pushed away the rock that had protected him from the attack and the burning fire.

He lay on his back, breathing heavily, raising both hands and staring with a frown and pain at the severe burns he had suffered.

"Tch! Damn it! Not even a full day passed before I got injured again..."

He looked around at the burning ground and sighed.

"I don’t remember the Eastern camp being attacked in the other timeline..."

He shook his head.

"I need to stop relying on memories as a reference for the future of this timeline..."

He raised both hands and placed them over his chest, exactly over the heart. He took a deep breath, then activated his most dangerous technique.

The coastal sea, near Haven IslandA mild breeze blew across the clear sea, carrying the scent of salt and the sound of waves crashing against the rocks. In a small corner of the fishermen’s dock, the place had become a silent massacre.Marcus, the tall young man with neatly cropped hair, stood there stiffly. His black eyes were blank, staring at the bodies of strange sea creatures strewn across the yard.He gripped his sword’s hilt and drove it deep into the skull of a sea creature with a twisted nose, then pulled the blade out, dark blue blood coating it. He wiped the blade on the dead creature’s clothes and kicked it aside.Thud!"I don’t know if I’ve finished them all off..." he muttered with a frown, slowly scanning the area. "If some managed to escape and reveal where we are... I’ll find myself running again from island to island."When he stepped into a side room of the building, his eyes caught on shelves and walls covered with maps and nautical charts."Hmm, interesting room.

His black eyes stared coldly at the body of a sea creature stretched out on the ground, his face showing only faint disgust. That was not the only corpse. The entire yard was drenched in blood and scattered remains.Marcus pulled his sword out of the strange-nosed sea creature’s skull, wiped the blade on his already blood-stained clothes, then kicked the body aside.Thud!"I don’t know if all those bastards were here. If some managed to escape... we could be in trouble.""They might expose our location again, and I’m really tired of running from one island to another." He muttered with a frown while scanning the corners of the building for any remaining prey.He stepped into a narrow r

  • chapter 37 : Fame

The coastal sea, near Haven IslandA gentle breeze swept in from the glittering ocean, carrying with it the sound of waves dancing and softly striking the sides of the sailboat. At the edge of the boat, a teenage boy stood staring at the island ahead with obvious excitement."Finally! I’m back home," he said with eagerness and relief before turning around to look at the pale-faced woman with shining hair."Mother... we’re finally here."Susanneth nodded with a smile, then leaned on her sword and stood up."Hmm, thank goodness we made it..." she murmured wearily."I’m completely exhausted... two days of non-stop sailing have made my condition worse." She clung to Marcus’s hand, whose face lost all signs of joy, replaced by sorrow and helplessness.Just six days ago, he lost his father, and only yesterday did his mother confess she had a severe, terminal illness that might take her life in no more than three years."Misfortunes never come alone," Marcus muttered bitterly. He then wrappe

  • chapter 36 : invincible!

Marcus’s eyes widened in shock."Hah... completely immune to injury! That means... literally invincible!"He couldn’t help but stare again at the three strange drugs inside the chest."I wonder... could one of these be that terrifying elemental type?" he muttered under his breath. For a moment, he imagined that if he found an elemental drug among them, he would swallow it without hesitation. But then he shook his head with a wry smile."Look at me... what an idiot. Why would I risk taking one and give myself the ocean’s curse when I can simply have the bracelet copy the genetic imprint of these powers?"He laughed at himself for the stupidity of that thought, taking a Dream-Bringer drug that would give him a fatal weakness, when his bracelet could just copy these abilities, as it had with Eren. It was even now storing another DNA temporarily, and could also copy his mother’s power whenever he wanted. Most importantly, there was that enormous discovery that had shocked him moments ago

  • chapter 35 : Dream-Bringer drug

Marcus nodded without hesitation and began pushing the large boat forward with his transformed body, while his mother, Susanneth, lay resting on the edge. As he propelled the vessel, he started recounting everything that had happened over the past three days.Strangely, he didn’t mention the bracelet at all. He only said he had suddenly discovered an ability to transform into a Sea King and other shapes, even revealing that he could copy other people’s powers, but he kept the secret of the bracelet buried deep in his heart.Susanneth listened in silence, her eyes distant as if trying to find a logical explanation for all of it... but soon she gave up. What was the point of searching for a reason now? What mattered was how they could use these abilities. She placed her hand on his tough scales and spoke with firm resolve:“Once we gather your siblings and settle somewhere new... I’ll begin training you.”Then her tone became more warning as she added:“Keep in mind that from now on, yo
