"You... you bastard!" Vivian was terrified. When did Kai become so strong? She quietly stepped back, hoping to lock Kai and Sage outside, to protect herself.
But the next moment, Kai kicked the door open, bracing it with his firm arm before it could close.
"Give it to me," he said, his voice cold and impatient. "Or do you want me to take it myself?"
"Get away!" Vivian screamed, clutching the necklace tightly. "This necklace is mine! I'll die before I give it to you!"
"You fucker!" Sage spat blood, a tooth falling from his mouth. Damn it, Kai! He definitely did this on purpose!
"You're looking for death!" Sage struggled to rise, his fury building as he yelled at Kai.
"Come on, you bastard! Show me what you learned from your whore mother!"
"You're done for." Kai's gaze darkened as he moved like a shadow, swiftly appearing in front of Sage.
CRACK.
Before Sage could even speak, he was sent flying again.
Vivian panicked, peeking through the peephole. Sage was lying on the floor, and if he was down, wasn’t she next?
Just as she prepared to sneak away, the door slammed open with a loud bang. Sage's nearly 200-pound body was shoved back against her. Damn it, her spine must have cracked!
"Well? Still want to fight?" Kai's tone was casual, but his eyes remained deadly.
"Here, take it! Take it!" Vivian slapped Sage's hefty backside. If he didn’t get up, she would be suffocated under him.
Kai didn’t waste time with them, grabbing the necklace and walking away.
"You ungrateful bastard! We gave you food, drink, shelter, everything! And this is how you repay us!" Sage yelled behind him, unwilling to accept his defeat.
"You’re done!" He shouted, "My sister’s getting married tonight. My brother-in-law is Mr. Reginald. He won’t let you get away with this!"
"No need to wait." Kai paused in his tracks, his footsteps steady. "I'll go to the wedding tonight and settle it personally."
Then, he stepped outside, the cold air greeting him. The sleek Rolls-Royce awaited, its polished exterior gleaming under the light. A burly man stood beside the open door, his sharp gaze flicking toward Sage.
Sage, groaning on the floor, looked outside the gate in disbelief. A Rolls-Royce? For Kai?

At the Sky Ballroom, Astrid stood at the entrance, smiling as she greeted guests.
Reginald had promised that tonight, the biggest names in the city would be here—especially Elara, the city’s wealthiest. She would not only attend the ceremony in person, but also present a grand gift for their wedding. She couldn’t afford to disappoint her.
"Astrid, my baby!" Vivian and Sage, storming toward her, furious and limping.
"You have no idea what we’ve been through!" Vivian's voice trembled with just the right amount of misery. "That monster nearly killed Sage! He’s out of control!"
Astrid’s gaze flickered to her brother. Sage looked pathetic, bandaged up, his lip swollen, one arm wrapped tightly.
This is too embarrassing! She didn’t want the guests seeing her mother and brother in such a state! She quickly ushered them into a small lounge nearby.
"He barged into our home like a madman," she wailed. "He snatched my necklace! The one you gave me as a gift! And then..." She craned her neck, pointing at the faint red marks. "Look! He attacked me! If Sage hadn’t stepped in, I might not even be alive right now, you'll have become motherless!"
"And he’s definitely on drugs," Sage declared firmly. "There’s no way he could beat me without them! No way!" He tried to flex his relaxed biceps but accidentally pulled at his wound.
"That sucker! Not only is he on drugs, but he rented a luxury car to show off!" Sage ground his teeth in anger. "A Rolls-Royce! Worth more than his own life!"
"He’s definitely hoping you’ll change your mind, throwing money at these pathetic tricks!!"
Astrid’s nails dug into her palms. Useless! Those security guards were useless!
Not only was Kai still alive, but he has the audacity to storm into her home, assault her family, steal the necklace, and then drive off in his flashy car!
Does that bastard think Astrid is someone to be trampled on?
She was going to give him a lesson he'd never forget—personally!
Click—she dialed Kai's number. But the moment it connected—it was cut off.
“That bastard! H-He hung up on me!” Astrid’s face twisted with rage.
“What happened?” Reginald burst through the door. “Elara’s gift just arrived. Aren’t you coming out to take a look?”
Astrid’s eyes lit up instantly, and so did her mother’s and brother’s. A greedy gleam flickered in their beady little eyes like a pair of miserly rats sniffing gold.
“But darling,” Astrid said in a fake, delicate voice, “Mom just told me that bastard Kai isn’t dead. He stole her banquet necklace, and he is planning to crash our wedding. We can’t just let him get away with it!”
"Not dead?" Reginald raised an eyebrow. Looks like it’s time he handled things personally.
“Don’t worry,” Reginald said, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. “If that bastard dares show up at our wedding, he’s done for.”
“Don’t forget—we’ve got Elara backing us.” A smug smile curled on Reginald’s lips.
Old grudges and new rage boiled inside him. He hated Kai with every fiber of his being.
If Kai had the guts to show up at the wedding, there’d be no mercy.
Reginald swore—he’d make sure Kai wouldn’t walk out alive.

106: Into The Cave.
The tension in the air hadn't even settled when one of the younger men from the group turned sharply toward Kai, eyes narrowing.“Who are you calling children, Mr. man?” he snapped.Kai didn’t even spare him a glance. He was more focused on brushing a speck of dust off his coat than dignifying that bite with a response. The sheer arrogance in his silence sent another ripple of irritation through the group, but before more could be said, the swordsman from earlier stepped forward, voice calm but firm.“That man… he’s not just dangerous,” he began, eyes flicking briefly to the twitching corpse-like thing that had tried to ambush them moments ago. “He’s an evil cultivator—a parasitic one. He waits here, playing the role of the helpless old guard. Lures travelers in with false warnings about the cave, then kills them off the moment they drop their guard. It’s been happening for years.”Zora made a face, disgust curling her upper lip. “So he’s the reason no one ever comes back.”The speake
105:Unmasking the Predator
Kai turned just in time, his boot grinding lightly against the gravel as his gaze settled on the figure approaching from the shadows. An old man, stooped and slow-moving, walked toward them with deliberate care. He was dressed in dull gray robes that fluttered faintly with the wind, and he leaned on a wooden cane, each step measured as if his bones would snap from the weight of existence itself. His white beard hung to his chest, thin and unkempt, and his sunken eyes looked pale—too pale for someone with breath still in their lungs.“You shouldn’t go in,” the old man said, his voice aged and tremulous. “The cave swallows everything. Cultivators, warriors, even sect elders have entered over the years. None ever came back out. Not one.”Zora folded her arms with an audible scoff, already rolling her eyes. “Every cursed ruin has its old storyteller,” she muttered under her breath. “Let me guess. He’s going to beg us not to awaken the vengeful spirit inside.”Kai didn’t move. He didn’t ev
104: A Beating Worth Remembering
The atmosphere in the hotel lobby remained tense even after Kai’s first warning. The guard, despite clearly shaken, straightened his back, clenched his fists, and stubbornly stepped forward again. His hesitation lasted only a moment—but under the piercing glare of his young master, it was enough.“You’re not going anywhere,” the guard said firmly, although the tremble in his voice betrayed him.Kai didn’t react at first. He stared blankly at the man, his expression unreadable. Then, slowly, he let out a tired sigh—long and dry, like someone bored of dealing with toddlers.“I was hoping to walk away tonight,” he muttered. “Guess that was asking too much.”He took a step closer, eyes narrowing slightly.“Get the fuck out of my face,” he said, calmly. The guard flinched. But before he could even weigh his options, the young master barked from behind him, “What are you waiting for? Restrain him!”That was the last straw.Kai didn’t wait. With a speed that seemed to blur the edges of the
103: You Will Get Rejected
The air in the luxurious hotel lobby shifted.Zora’s eyes twitched. Kai's jaw tightened. They had both just endured a cramped flight, a long ride across a city they didn’t know, and now—this clown? Kai didn’t move at first, just stared at the over-dressed brat like he was a stain on his boots. The manager came rushing down a flight of stairs the moment the loud demand echoed across the lobby. His shoes clicked against the marble, his smile oily and wide.“Sir! Sir! It would be our honor to clear the hotel for your private function,” the manager said, bowing so low it was almost embarrassing. “Your card will be processed immediately. Please, allow us—”Kai raised a brow. “Seriously?”The manager straightened slightly, hearing the irritation in his voice. “With all due respect, sir, can you offer what this esteemed guest has just offered us?”Zora narrowed her eyes. “And what did he offer?”The manager puffed out his chest. “Ten million yuan. Instant transfer.”Kai gave a soft snort. “M
102:Flight To Greyhold City.
Back at Kai’s place, the atmosphere has shifted. The tension of the mission behind them gave way to something quieter, sharper—focused planning. The room was dim, the only light coming from the crystal chandelier above the mahogany table, where Kai had spread out the three maps like sacred scripture. Each map held coordinates—jagged lines, faded runes, and ancient symbols carved by a dying civilization. They were keys to the fragmented scrolls scattered across, pieces of a legacy too dangerous to be left forgotten.Zora leaned over the table, tracing one of the routes with her finger. “This one,” she said, tapping the first map, “is located inside Greyhold City here in Cresthaven. That’s in the southern quadrant. Closer than the rest.”Kai nodded once, already calculating routes. “We head there first. No delays. No detours.”Zora sighed and dropped into the nearest seat, legs crossed. “Greyhold’s at least a three-hour flight. You planning to teleport us, or are we flying commercial?”
101: Go Ahead And Die.
Kai's gaze remained locked on the young disciple, cold and unreadable. His arms were folded, body relaxed, but his aura was sharp, sheathed just enough not to kill... yet. After a pause, he finally spoke."I'm here for the scroll," he said bluntly, voice devoid of pleasantries. “The maps—the one that leads to the fragmented scrolls.”The disciple stiffened immediately, eyes narrowing. His gaze darted toward Zora, suddenly sharper, more calculating. "Wait... you're the one," he muttered, pointing at her with a stunned look. "You're the thief that broke in three nights ago—caused that entire uproar. The one everyone’s still talking about. The map thief."Zora, unbothered by the accusation, simply grinned and lifted a hand in mock salute. “Guilty,” she said with a wink. “And my name’s Zora, by the way. You can drop the whole ‘map thief’ title. I think it’s a little... excessive.”Kai snorted behind her, arms still crossed. “That’s literally what you are. Might as well tattoo it on your
