On the other side, a Rolls-Royce glided into the estate, drawing envious gasps from pedestrians who marveled at the limited-edition luxury car. Inside, Elara, the wealthiest person in Dominus City and one of Kai’s most trusted allies, respectfully reported tonight’s agenda.
“Master, the banquet will be held promptly at 9 PM. All the bosses working for the Orion Group in Dominus City are eager to meet you,” she said.
Kai smirked, his lips curling with anticipation. He, too, was looking forward to the evening’s event. But before that, there was a pressing issue to take care of.
“Stop in front of the Sky Hall,” Kai’s deep voice rumbled, his eyes gleaming with a mischievous light.
If someone wanted to stir things up at the wedding, then why not give them a show they would never forget?
As Kai stepped down, he heard a familiar voice, dripping with smug satisfaction.
“Well, look what the wind dragged in.”
Kai didn’t even need to turn. The stench of arrogance said it all.
Reginald Thompson strolled out, champagne in hand, flashing his trademark fake smile. “Didn’t think you’d show your face here, Blackwood. I figured you’d be too ashamed.
“What are you doing here?” His tone was laced with amusement. “Don’t tell me you’re here to beg for scraps?”
“Or maybe...” He leaned in slightly. “You still can’t let go of Astrid? You poor thing. Showing up at her wedding like some desperate stray, hoping for what? Closure?”
Kai smirked. It seemed he didn’t need to put on a show after all. The supporting actor was already in position, and everything was falling perfectly into place.
Kai deliberately let a look of contempt flash across his face as he fixed his gaze on Reginald. "Quit your delusions. Just one more glance at you two and I’ll be sick to my stomach."
Reginald fell right into the trap!
His temper flared instantly. Kai was nothing—just a worthless, abandoned stray dog, and yet, he dared to act so boldly in front of him! Unforgivable!
Reginald’s eyes darkened as he fixed Kai with a murderous stare. "Is that so?" he sneered. "Then let me see if you’ll puke out your guts and heart."
"Guards!" He waved his hand, and in an instant, dozens of muscle-bound men appeared, their eyes cold and threatening, all focused on Kai.
"Here we go again", Kai stepped forward, radiating an aura of danger. "Reginald, if I step inside, your wedding is over!"
The confidence in those words unsettled Reginald, and at the same time, stirred a surge of blood to his head, “Big words, Blackwood.”
Kai didn’t even blink. “Then let’s see.” With that, he strode boldly toward the banquet hall.
"Keep an eye on him," Reginald hissed, his tone low and venomous. "If he dares stir trouble..." His smile twisted into something dark and malevolent, a grin so chilling it made the hairs on the bodyguards' necks stand on end.
The moment Kai stepped in, his eyes immediately landed on the massive crystal sculpture at the center, with a crowd gathered around it. Right in front of the sculpture stood Astrid, holding a champagne flute, her face radiating smug satisfaction.
The sharp sound of clinking glasses echoed, and the crowd of sycophantic guests began to cheer, "To Elara! To her special wedding gift!"
"Astrid, tell us more about Elara. We’re all so intrigued by this self-made queen of business.”
"Yes, the last time I heard her name, it was as she rang the bell at Nasdaq—she truly stole the spotlight."
"Well," Astrid replied with a coy smile, "it’s mostly thanks to my husband, Reginald."
"They’re great friends. Elara holds this wedding in such high regard that she had this crystal sculpture custom-made just for us."
"May our marriage be as clear and transparent as crystal," she added, her voice laced with satisfaction.
Kai’s jaw ticked.
What a joke.
Elara was his grandfather's most loyal and capable subordinate; he knew everything about her.
She would never recognize someone as hypocritical as Reginald, nor would she ever waste a gift on two adulterers celebrating their marriage.
Kai’s gaze swept over the so-called sculpture.
It was nothing more than an overpriced piece of junk, probably dug up from a gallery clearance bin. Yet here they were, basking in the false glow of stolen glory. It was all just a pathetic, self-made farce.
"You bastard! You actually had the guts to show up at the wedding?" A sharp voice cut through the air.
Kai turned to see Sage striding toward him, flanked by a crew of bodyguards. From a distance, it looked like a pack of muscleheads walking a bulldog.
"See these guys?" Sage bragged. "My future brother-in-law, Mr. Reginald, sent them just for me."
"You might’ve taken me down once, but can you handle all of them?"
Sage smirked smugly as the bodyguards sized up Kai’s lean frame, cracking their knuckles.
They were expecting a real fight—not some polite college kid who looked like he still held doors open for strangers.
Just one flick of a finger and this poor kid would be in a full body cast. Pathetic.
"What’s going on here?" A cold, clear voice rang out. The room quieted.
Kai turned to see a woman standing a few feet away. Tall. Poised. Eyes sharp as if they could peel through a man’s soul.
She wasn't looking at him...she was glaring at Sage.
"You're at a wedding," she said, her voice cold. "Not a street fight!"
"Well said, Abigail. But do you even know who you're defending?" Sage said with a sneer.
"Of course," Abigail replied, turning to face Kai. "Astrid’s ex-fiancé—Kai. I’ve heard plenty about you."
She extended her hand, clearly offering a friendly gesture.
Kai raised a brow. Interesting. This woman actually covered for him.
But before Kai could respond, Sage cut in.
“I thought you had standards, Abigail.”
“And I thought you had manners.” Abigail shot back
“Come on . Don’t act high and mighty." Sage scoffed.
"You’re still single, aren’t you? And I heard you are going to be a slut soon base on the news I'm hearing, how about I fuck your little cunt first” Lowering his gaze, he lustfully groped Abigail’s ass.
“Or maybe you’re just picky?”
The bodyguards burst into lewd laughter, their eyes shamelessly glued to Abigail’s proud curves.
"Y-You... how dare you!" Abigail was stunned. The humiliation hit, and tears welled up in her eyes.
"Shameless!" Kai grabbed Sage by the collar, eyes sharp and dangerous. "Apologize to her."
“B-Bastard, let go!” Sage choked, feet off the ground, but even struggling to breathe, he stayed arrogant—refusing to say sorry.
“Guess you didn’t learn your lesson.” Kai tightened his grip, ready to launch the pig like trash.
“Stop him! Now!” Sage shouted in panic as the bodyguards rushed in.
“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!”
The next moment, Astrid Laurent’s furious voice rang out.
All heads turned.
She stormed forward, face livid, eyes blazing as they landed on Kai.
"What the hell are you doing?!” She roared.

167: Even If It's The Devil Himself...
Kai’s fists curled so tightly the bones cracked, his aura continued to surge like a dam breaking, thick, heavy, laced with bloodlust. The very air around him distorted, rippling with pressure. Then came Zora’s voice, casual as ever. “Hey, dumbass. I told you to use the eye, not choke me out with your stupid aura.”Kai exhaled, dragging in control like it was chained to his spine. The golden third eye flickered once more before sealing shut at the centre of his forehead.Silence returned. His jaw tightened as he swallowed the fury, choosing violence, but not yet.He sighed, the truth was, he was drained, not weak, not broken, just tired from holding back so damn much.Zora glanced at him from the corner, arms folded, face unreadable. “You’ll only get one full sweep like that. Next time, you’ll be working off your own energy.” She yawned like she hadn’t just turned him into a walking god. “Don’t run out, or you’ll fry yourself.”He nodded. “Got it.”“Good. Now go save your little girlfr
166: The Eye That Sees All
Kai stilled as realization hit him, so she hadn’t been stopping him, she had wanted to prepare him, forcing him to activate the eye properly, on her own damn terms and here he’d been, barking at her like she was the enemy. He felt stupid. No, scratch that, he felt played. Zora had manipulated the entire situation so subtly, so effortlessly, he hadn’t even realized it until now. She’d slapped him, stabbed him, tortured him and now she was yawning like none of it mattered. And honestly? He had to respect that level of chaos.Still, before he could even ask her who the hell she really was or what her game was...Smack!Her palm landed on the back of his head again.“You thinking again?” she asked, voice dry. “You wanna explode your brain for real this time, or you gonna get to work?”“Don’t stand there like a confused squirrel,” Zora groaned, her voice muffled with sleep. “I need to nap. You need to see. So close those damn eyes and get to work.”Kai muttered something under his breath,
165: No One Can Hide.
Kai took in a deep breath, hand still pressed to his head, the sting of that cosmic migraine still echoing deep in his skull. A million questions swirled in his mind. What did I see? Who the hell is Zora? What did my eye just do? Why did looking at her hurt so much?He opened his mouth, ready to unleash every one of those thoughts despite Zora warning him not to question her.But Zora sensing his intent raised a single brow and lazily lifted a finger to point at him without even turning her head. “Don’t even think about it, I told you not to bother me with your questions, I'm really not in the mood.”Her tone was calm, but that one sentence slammed Kai’s mouth shut.He groaned softly and sank back against the wall, still breathing heavily, eyes flickering with that same golden-blue hue from earlier. The silence that followed was thick, loaded with the weight of questions left unspoken and confusion he couldn't process yet.Zora stretched her legs across the couch and finally looked a
164: Third Eye Awakened.
Three hours slipped by as quietly as a shadow at dusk.Zora had dozed off somewhere between her fifth meat skewer and the sixth, her pale face resting against the sofa, rising and falling softly with her breathing. By the time she woke up, blinking groggily and stretching her limbs, Kai hadn’t moved an inch, he was still seated in the center of the room, legs crossed, his breathing steady, his body glowing faintly with spiritual light. But something was different now.A straight, delicate line had formed right in the middle of his forehead, so thin at first, it looked like a faint scar but it pulsed with energy, almost like it was alive and with each passing minute, the line deepened, stretching further, as if something underneath was trying to claw its way out.Kai clenched his jaw, his fists tightening on his knees, the pain he'd been feeling was crazy, sharp, searing but this time, he didn’t scream, he’d been through worse, he had already survived the madness of being stabbed in th
163: The Seal of Sight
Hearing Zora’s words, Kai’s brow furrowed deeply, his lips parted as he tried to comprehend what she just said.“You want me to open the real Third Eye?” he asked, voice low, still hoarse from screaming earlier. “How the hell am I supposed to do that?”Zora didn’t answer him immediately, she simply raised her chin and pointed at the scroll lying open on the floor, its old surface fluttering slightly from the energy still lingering in the room.“The scroll,” she said flatly. “You already have everything you need.”Kai followed her finger, then crouched and picked up the parchment, the paper still felt warm in his hand, humming faintly, almost as if it were alive, he held it in both hands, staring down at the lines of text now glowing faintly under his golden eyes.He blinked in surprise. This time, the words weren’t too harsh, his eyes didn’t sting or throb, there was no pain at all, just clarity, perfect, overwhelming clarity.“It’s working…” he murmured, eyes scanning every brushstro
162: The Pain of Awakening
Kai’s scream tore through the room, raw, wild and animalistic as the blade twisted mercilessly inside his eye, and a sickening crack followed as blood gushed down the right side of his face it soaked his neck, stained his clothes, and dripped in heavy, red splats onto the floor.Zora didn’t flinch at his scream, her hand still gripped the dagger buried in his eye, wrist firm and cold like she was tightening a screw, not skewering someone's soul and then pulled it out and dropped it. “Activate your cultivation technique,” she said coolly, like this wasn’t the most brutal thing she’d ever done. “Now, focus the energy directly into your eye unless you wanna keep crying like a newborn.”Kai’s mind was foggy, pain clouded every thought, every breath, his mouth opened, and all that escaped was another broken scream, hoarse and guttural, but her words pushed through the haze of pain.Through clenched teeth and clenched fists, Kai tried, he summoned his inner energy, the core flow within hi
