Darius was quite surprised that his wife called him. They hadn’t spoken since the argument the previous day, but he picked up nonetheless.

“Hello, Good morning dear.” He greeted in a full tone.

“Hey Darius, I had a discussion with Grandma after you left yesterday.”

‘Wow, no greeting..’ Darius thought

She continued. “She still wants to you sign the divorce papers but after I spoke to her she agreed to let you stay on one condition. I’m trying to get a 10 Million Dollars deal from the Charlton group of companies. She said we must seal the deal before she’ll allow us to stay together.”

‘Charlton Company? Isn’t that my company now?’ Darius thought.

“That’s great news, Carla. Why don’t you go on ahead. I’ll come meet you there. We’ll work it out together.” Darius said with a little relief and excitement. Perhaps this was his opportunity to show who he was now and make them respect him. He’ll surely gat his wife back.

“Okay, I’ll be there in 30 mins. You don’t really need to do anything. Dress properly too please.” She said.

Darius smiled to himself. ‘She isn’t expecting anything from me. I’ll shock them today.’

“Sure, I’ll be there.” He replied and she hung up.

He was the owner of the company now but he wasn’t known by his employees yet. So he couldn’t just go and start giving orders. He decided to call Maxwell the butler so he would be able to do what he wanted to do without issues.

Maxwell picked up the call and greeted in a respectful voice.

“Hello, Good morning master Darius. How was your night sir? Hope the house is to your liking?”

“Yes it was great Max, thank you. I need something from you urgently this morning. My wife is on her way to the company now to sign a deal. I want her to get the deal no matter what.”

After some pause he added. “I will be there myself soon so I want you to be there.”

“Alright sir. I’ll be there as you wish sir. The deal is as good as hers already. You can rest assured.” Maxwell said.

“Alright, see you there.” Darius replied and hung up the call.

After thinking for a brief moment, he got up and took prepared to leave. There weren’t other clothes for him to change into so he had to clean up the ones he used the previous day and water it again. He got himself cleaned up and left the wonderful villa.

He boarded a taxi and went to the location of the company. There was no way he would get lost. Everyone knew the company because of how big and prosperous it was so he got there after some minutes.

The driver dropped him in front of the massive gates of the company and then he made his way inside. It was a big place and he had to walk for a while through the different buildings and workshops. But the Main one was at the center of the ace that looked like a small town.

He walked in through the glass doors and approached the receptionist desk. There were some people attending to those who were coming to the company for appointments and other things. So he went to one of them that was currently free.

It was a lady in a white shirt with a black tie and a mini black skirt. She saw Darius approach and frowned. It was like she was saying ‘what is this kind of person doing here’ with her face.

Darius seemingly did not notice her frown and spoke to her. “Good morning miss. I’m here to see the manager, Maxwell.”

Her frown got deeper with a shade of anger and contempt. “What is your name?” She asked him without a greeting or smile.

He replied. “My name is Darius.”

“Do you have an appointment?” The frown was still on her face.

“Yes, I spoke to him this morning and informed him I was coming. Tell him I’ve arrived.” Darius said.

“Sorry I can’t do that.” She said with a cold glare. “The manager is very busy and I have no idea of who you are and there’s no mention of an appointment with you in the memo today. So get out of here. This place is not for people like you.”

Darius was exasperated.. ‘Again? What is with these dumb people. Just because of how I look she’s insulting me.’

He replied her. “Don’t be foolish, call the manager and let him know I’m here. This is not how to treat guests. You could be fired.”

She then got angry and slapped the table angrily. “I can’t take this nonsense any longer. Don’t make me call the security to kick out a dog like you. So get out now.” She threatened.

“If this company attended to every piece of shit like you we won’t be at the level we are now. So get the fuck out before I summon the security to...”

It was at this time that a man walked in through a door at the side of the hall. He was a tall, dark, elderly man with some white beards on his chin. Every one on duty in the hall stopped and looked at him.

The man walked towards Darius and greeted him with a bow of his head. “It’s good to see you Sir. I’ve been expecting you and so I was watching through the cameras expecting you.”

Darius nodded at him and looked at the receptionist, her face had become deathly pale.

The man, Maxwell, the butler of the McArthur family and the manager of the company spoke up. “Forgive me sir for the bad treatment. I expected the fool to have made a call to me to inform me about your presence.”

Then he turned to the lady and said. “You’re an idiot. You don’t know who this man is yet you speak to him like you own the place. This is no place for fools like you.”

The lady looked like she was about to beg for mercy while everyone else in the hall looked on in shock. Maxwell spoke again, not giving her time to apologize.

“You’re fired!”

Then he led Darius into the office.
