"What reason made you come here, William?"

William met his father-in-law in the office, the handsome man with a little beard under his chin was about to tell Mr. Patterson something.

"I want to divorce Bianca, Dad. It seems like I'm just causing trouble for you all." He hesitated to say it, but last night Bianca was very angry and decided to divorce him.

"Do you think I'm going to grant your request? I brought you here and married you to my daughter so you could take care of her! Why do you want to divorce your wife?!" The old man spoke in a high note, making William unable to do anything but be quiet.

"But, Dad. This divorce is Bianca's will, I can't continue this marriage. I'm afraid if this happens, I'll hurt her feelings." The 32-year-old man looked sad in front of his father-in-law.

"I've failed to be a good husband to her. I can't even make her happy. The business I built is always failing." In his heart, he even admitted that he was a loser.

William considered himself a lucky loser because he was married by a wealthy family woman. A homeless man who now lives on the luxury of the Patterson family as a son-in-law.

With his innocent face, the man said, "I even owe Bianca a lot of money, Dad. And I can't pay it even by installment. Last night Bianca said that if I can divorce her then my debt will be paid."

"Enough, William. Stop it!" Mr. Patterson didn't want to hear his son-in-law's complaints. The 69-year-old man approached his son-in-law and hit his back hard, making William almost fall.

"So, is it true what Thomas said last night that you're really a loser, William?"

William, who had been looking down, suddenly looked at his father-in-law and was shocked by Mr. Patterson's words.

"Are you going to divorce my daughter just to pay off your debt? Do you know, your words just now have disappointed me, William." Suddenly, Mr. Patterson groaned in pain while holding his chest.

"What's wrong, Dad?" William panicked and approached his father-in-law, bringing the 69-year-old man back to sit in the chair.

"Please get my medicine from the drawer." Mr. Patterson asked William to get his medicine, as his chest was in pain and he had to take aspirin to relieve it. After finding his father-in-law's medicine, William immediately gave it to Mr. Patterson.

"Is Dad sick? What if I take him to the hospital?" William asked about his father-in-law's condition, the elderly man felt relieved after taking his pain reliever.

"Mr. Patterson shook his head gently, “I'm okay.” The pain has subsided after taking the medicine Arianna gave him a few days ago.

“William?” His father-in-law called out to him who was next to him.

“Yes, Dad?”

"Please don't divorce my daughter. You're the only one I can trust to take care of Bianca. Don't worry about the debt, I'll give you control of the Patterson family company now." The elderly man spoke with a weak and faltering voice as if he was despairing. He had actually been thinking about this for a while, but he was still hesitant to make a decision because there would be pros and cons in the Patterson family later.

The scene at dinner tonight was as usual, in between they discussed the business run by family members.

Mr. Patterson stopped eating, and placed his fork and knife next to his plate.

"Tonight, I'm going to tell you something," he said.

"What is it?" Mrs. Patterson and all the family members looked very excited to hear it.

The 69-year-old man reached for a tissue and wiped the remnants of food from his lips, then said, "Starting tomorrow, William will take over the Patterson family's main company."

"What the f***, Dad." Arianna's voice was heard loudly opposing her father.

The entire family was shocked to hear Mr. Patterson's statement.

"It can't be! Are you sure you're going to hand it over to your useless nephew? 

Think about it. What if our company goes broke? The Patterson family, which is always seen as the wealthiest family, will fall into poverty if he manages it!" Mrs. Patterson strongly opposed her husband's wish. The face of the 54-year-old woman turned red and she looked at William with disdain.

"What Mommy said is true, Dad. You shouldn't act rashly like this!" Arianna supports her mother's words and disagrees with her father's decision.

Ariana took a deep breath, holding back her anger, "Dad? Why have you never trusted Thomas to run the main company? His performance has always been good, hasn't it? While William is just a loser who has no shame! He's just living a luxurious life here with us!" The eldest daughter of the Patterson family is not okay if William takes over the main company of their family.

"What did you say? Oh my! I didn't even say anything!" Bianca was upset when her sister accused her, so in anger, she immediately smashed her wine glass.

“Shut up!” Mr. Patterson screamed.
