Chapter 1
Chapter 1
The battlefield burned, fire and run in every direction.
Eryndor Kaelen cut through the chaos, his sword flashing sliver and red under the blood soaked sky, his breath hard, his lungs full of smoke and fury.
“ Left flank, Eryndor! Now!” Elias Thorne's voice called out, it was sharp and clear.
Without hesitation, Eryndor turned and charged. He didn't question Elias, never had.
They had grown up together and best friends, fought side by side since they were boys.
Where one went, the other followed. It have always been like that.
“ Behind you!” Elias shouted again.
Eryndor turned back and sliced down a soldier in a dark armor.
“Thanks” He called back, panting.
Elias grinned across the battlefield “ Don't slow down on me now”
Eryndor gave a small, tired laugh “ Wouldn't dare”
Their sword moved in rhythm, back to back, striking down foe after foe.
They were a force of nature, unstoppable.
Victory hummed in Eryndor's bones as he drove his blade deep into the last solder's chest twisting hard before yanking it out, the man dropped lifeless.
Eryndor turned toward Elias breathless, sweat on his brow.
“ We have won, Elias” He grinned.
Elias stood a few feet away, sword in hand.
He smiled but it wasn't the smile Eryndor knew, it was calm, cold and wrong.
Before Eryndor could react, pain exploded in his chest.
He looked down, Elias's sword burned deep inside him.
Eryndor staggered, gasping.
His eyes locked onto Elias's, wide with shock
“ Why?” He rasped “ Why, of all people... You?”
Elias stepped closer, twisting the blade before pulling it free
“ You were always meant to fall, Eryndor ” He said softly “ You just never saw it coming ”
“ Elias, you...” he tries to speak but his words drowned in blood.
His knees hit the ground
From the corner of his fading vision, he saw her
Elira Valea
Her dark hair streamed behind her as she ran, her eyes wide, her face pale with horror.
“ Eryndor ” she screamed, her voice breaking
He lifted a trembling hand toward her, just once, then everything went black.
Eryndor woke up to cold, darkness, no ground beneath him and no sky above.
“ I was betrayed!” he roared , the sound tearing through the void, it was of fury not of pain.
“ Eryndor Kaelen” A whisper, soft as wind
His body tensed as he turned quickly “ Who's there?” he asked.
“ Nyxir” the voice said, it was a voice of an ancient woman “ Queen of the Abyss”
“ Where am i” he demanded
“ Between life and death” Nyxir replied calmly.
“ What do you want from me ” he asked as he tightened his jaw.
A soft laugh echoed around him
“ Nothing ” Nyxir said “ Only to give you what you want”
“ What I want?” he asked, confused.
“ Oh yes.... You were betrayed” Nyxir's voice coiled around him like smoke. “ You crave vengeance, don't you?”
“ Yes” Eryndor growled, no hesitation in his voice.
“ I was loyal ” he said louder, sounding raw “ I bled for them, and he...” his words cracked with hurt and fury “ he stabbed me like a dog!”
“ Will you trade your honour.... For vengeance, Eryndor?” Nyxir asked, sounding soft and sharp.
Silence fell
Elias's golden eyes flashed in his mind, Elira's scream, the feeling of the cold steel in his chest, the taste of betrayal ”
His breath turned ragged, he clenched his fist as he slowly lifted his head, his eyes burned through the dark.
“ Name your price” Eryndor said, his voice steady
From the darkness, a shape emerged , wings like shadow , no face but her eyes were a deep, glowing violet with flickers of black in the middle.
Darkenes curled at the edge of her mouth, like she just smiled .
“ I will give you life” she said, her voice like silk.
“ but not as you were” her eyes glowed in the void.
Eryndor swallowed, confused
“ What do you mean?” he asked
“ You were once a hero, loved and honored’ she said drifting closer, her wings curling behind her like a torn sails.
“ But vengeance stains the soul, you cannot return as a savior..only as a curse”
He clenched his fist tight “ If it means I can destroy Elias, then I'll take it”
He slowly opened his eyes , blinking at the unfamiliar room around him.
Stone walls rose high, silk curtains swayed gently and a grand bed with a golden carvings stood behind him.
His chest rose and fall, his hands trembling slightly. He was alive
A soft gasp came from the doorway.
“ My Lord Lucien, you have awakened ” A servant called out eyes wide with relief.
Lucien?
He sat up carefully and glanced up at the polish mirror nearby, his reflection stared back.
The man staring black wasn't him, his hair was dark, his eye, icy gray, sharp and cold and his face cruelty handsome.
“ This isn't me” he whispered voice barely steady.
The servant bowed deeply, her hand trembling “ Forgive me, my Lord, should I call for the physician? ”
He turned to her, ignoring her question he watched the fear in her shaking hands, he knows it was not of respect but of pure tremor.
“ What kind of man was I?” he muttered, his voice low and heavy with doubt
The door creaked open .
A guard rushed in, breathing hard. “ My Lord, your brother, Lord Aric, has come to see you”
A tall man entered wearing a smooth smile.
“ Lucien Ardent, you've survived ” Aric said , his voice sounding calm. “ You gave us quite a fright, especially selene ”
Lucien studies him carefully, his icy gray eyes hato and cold.
But all he could of was that he wasn't Eryndor Kaelen anymore
But Lucien Ardent.

Villain's Oath Chapter 24
The palace grounds were quieter than usual, cloaked in the hush that only came with night. Elira kept her head down beneath her dark cloak, her steps light as she made her way past the guards. Her heart thudded against her ribs like a warning drum, but she didn’t stop. She shouldn’t be here. Not at this hour, not alone. But the need for answers was louder than her fear. She slipped through a side entrance, one she remembered from her childhood visits and crept along the narrow halls that led toward the royal archives. The deeper she went, the colder the air became, heavy with dust, secrets, and time.At last, she reached the great wooden doors of the archive. They towered above her, their metal handles old and cool under her fingertips. She pushed gently, and with a soft groan, the door opened just wide enough for her to squeeze through.Inside, the space was vast and silent. Long shelves stretched toward the high ceiling, packed with old scrolls, ancient books, and yellowed parc

Villain's Oath Chapter 23
Serena stormed out of Elias’s chambers, slamming the door behind her. The cold night air hit her face, but it did nothing to cool the heat rising in her chest. Her heels clicked sharply against the stone path as she walked back toward her quarters, her fists clenched at her sides, her jaw tight. She was crying, she didn't care who see her, her eyes was burning not with tears of pain, but of fury. By the time she reached her chamber, she was shaking. She pushed the door open, stepped inside, and slammed it shut behind her. The silence in the room wrapped around her like a trap. She walked straight to the mirror and stared at herself, her cheeks were flushed, lips trembling, but not from heartbreak, from rage. Wiping beneath her eyes with the back of her hand, she leaned closer. “He will never love me,” she whispered bitterly, her voice raw. “Not like I love him.” Her gaze darkened. “And Elira… Elira gets Lucien’s attention without even trying.” She turned away fro

Villain's Oath Chapter 22
The door creaked open behind her.“Elira?” Her father’s voice broke the quiet. She turned, slowly, the journal still clutched in her hand. Her eyes were already glistening, but she held his gaze.“You’re home,” she said, her voice low.“I am. I saw the door open and....” He stopped when he saw the journal. His brows drew together. “Where did you find that?” he asked. Her grip on the journal tightened. “In my drawer, right where I left it.”Her father stepped further into the room, a cautious look on his face. “You shouldn’t be digging through the past, Elira.”“I wasn’t” she said “until I had to.”She held the journal out toward him, flipping to the page she had found. “I wrote this, didn’t I?”He looked down, read the words, then his shoulders sank.“Elira...”“Did you know about him?” she asked, cutting him off, her voice cracking “Did you know I loved someone named Eryndor?”Silence. Her father didn’t answer immediately. He looked down at the floor like the truth was there, gathe

Villain's Oath Chapter 21
The sun had already started to set when Elira found herself walking to Elias’s chambers, her heart beating faster with every step. She didn’t send word, she couldn’t. If she had paused too long to think, she might’ve talked herself out of it. The conversation she overheard that afternoon still echoed in her head. The name Eryndor. It didn’t just sound familiar, it had felt familiar. Like a thread pulling at something buried deep inside her. She stopped in front of his chamber door, took a deep breath in, exhaled and then she knocked. It opened quickly. “Elira,” Elias said, surprise softening his sharp features. “You didn’t send a message. Everything alright?” he asked “I needed to speak with you,” she said, her voice a little quieter than she have expected. “It’s important.” she added. He stepped aside, letting her in. The room was dimly lit, warm with the scent of burning cedar and the faintest trace of incense. Familiar. Comfortable. But tonight, none of it put her a

Villain's Oath Chapter 20
Lucien stood in his study, the message still in his hand. The handwriting was unmistakable it was Elias’s. Maybe Elias wanted him to be surprised on how it got into his chamber He read it one last time, every word confirming what he feared, Serena was being used.Without a word, he walked over to the small metal tray near the fireplace. He lit a candle, touched the flame to the edge of the paper, and watched it burn. The message curled in the fire, turning to ash, but the memory of it stayed sharp in his mind.“Guard,” he called outOne of his guards appeared. “My lord?” he bowed “Go and bring Maverick to me. Quietly. No one should notice.”The guard bowed again and left quickly.Lucien returned to his desk, sitting down with a slow breath. He wasn’t surprised Serena was involved, but it still stung. He had seen something in her once or maybe he just wanted to.Moments later, Maverick entered, head bowed. “You called for me, my lord?”Lucien nodded. “Follow Serena. Discreetly. I

Villain's Oath Chapter 19
Serena stood in the dim corridor just outside Elias’s chambers. The torchlight painted long shadows on the stone walls. Her heart pounded, not exactly with fear, but something raw and urgent.Elias’s door opened silently. He stepped out, cloak drawn tight, his eyes flickered to Serena’s waiting form. “You requested to see me?” he asked, his voice low and composed. She nodded and stepped into the light. “Yes. I have information.”She said her voice was steady, but her fingers curled at her sides. She wasn’t just coming with secrets she was coming with desire, something she couldn’t deny even now.Elias studied her. “Go on.” Serena took a breath. “Lord Lucien is shifting his pieces. He sent new orders last night. I overheard a messenger talking about secret guard rotations and a weakness to exploit.” She paused, watching his face. “It means he knows more than we thought.”Elias’s jaw tightened. “Very good.” He turned and walked a few steps, then stopped. “Why bring this to me?” Ser
