Chapter 2

*Ten years later*

"Come on Felix. I'm sure you can pin him down!" Sami encouraged an obvious tone of mockery in his voice.

Sami was the one who Felix had to compete with to be able to take over the crime organisation as Mr Lorenzo's heir.

Felix has been failing a lot of times in their physical training and Mr Lorenzo felt nothing but disappointment each time he had to watch Felix get beat down by others.

Felix's opponent flung Felix over his shoulder and smashed Felix into the group. He held Felix in a painful position until Felix tapped out.

"Hold him that way. Don't let go of him until he says he's Ana's weak little boy." Sami ordered Felix's opponent.

Felix's opponent held his stand just as Sami had told him to and Sami approached Felix where he was being pinned.

Felix was visibly in pain and although Mr Lorenzo was watching it all happen, nothing was done to stop it.

Sami went on one knee close to Felix and smiled slyly.

"Go on and say it. Say you're Ana's little boy." Sami told Felix.

Felix remained quiet and tried his best in bearing the pain being inflicted on him by his opponent.

Sami eyed the opponent Felix and the crop on Felix was tightened even more.

Felix groaned in pain but still said nothing to Sami or his opponent.

Sami slapped Felix and then got up and took over the ankle lock which Felix's earlier opponent held him in.

Sami made the pain even worse and Felix shouted with all his might, "I'm Ana's little boy!"

Sami let go of Felix while a group of others laughed at the scene. Sami didn't fail at making his laughter the loudest to be heard.

All his life, Sami did nothing less than impress Mr Lorenzo. Sami was so sure that Mr Lorenzo would choose him as long as he was able to portray Felix as the weaker vessel among them and make himself shine.

Felix got up and began limping away. Felix happened to be passing beside Sami and Sami tripped him.

Mr Lorenzo shook his head from where he watched,

"You will not get anything from me if you remain so weak. Just because I told you that you will inherit everything from me doesn't mean that you should not put in as much effort as the others." Mr Lorenzo said to Felix after Felix walked close enough to where he was seated.

"Sami however, I think... No! I know you have a great future in this family. Keep it up and you just might be taking Felix's place. And the way I see it, that isn't far from happening.

"Thank you, Mr Lorenzo. I won't let you down. Unlike others..." Sami replied to Mr Lorenzo but had his gaze on Felix.

Felix fixed his eyes on the ground as Ana came to him and helped him out of the wrestling room.

It was Ana's showing up to help that made the other men laugh even harder.

"Look! He is truly Ana's little boy!" one of the men shouted as they laughed at Felix and Sami stood watching everything with a triumphant smirk on his face.

Ana was the same maid Felix had chosen when he was newly brought into Mr Lorenzo's mansion.

Ever since Felix stepped into that mansion, the only person who truly cared about him was Ana. All others there just looked down on him while Sami grew up maintaining his highly valued position of being Felix's bully.

"When will you ever stand up for yourself?" Ana asked Felix, feeling concerned and very worried about the way he has been letting himself get beat up.

"That's for me to decide Ana. Sami's constant trashing is nothing but a reminder to me. A reminder that no one can ever be trusted and I was a foolish child to ever think that my parents would value me more than money." Felix replied Ana.

Felix hissed when the cloth Ana held up came in contact with a tear on his cheek.

"That event happened ten years ago Felix. Just let it go for once. What has been done has been done." Ana said to Felix but he remains unshaken.

"Ana, when will you ever learn? Stop all this. You've been saying the same thing over and over for ten years and I never listened. Why would I do so now?" Felix said to Ana.

The door to Felix's room swung open and there stood Sami.

"Why isn't baby Felix listening to his Trainor?" Sami questioned.

"Have you been eavesdropping on our conversation? You know that is not allowed here." Ana spoke up.

"Chill Ana. I just came and caught up with those last words." Sami replied Ana, smiling.

"What did you come here for?" Ana asked Sami.

"Oh?" Sami looked around Felix's room. "I don't see any of your properties in this room. So, I'm not sure why you're the one asking on his behalf." Sami said to Ana.

Sami looked at Felix with disgust, "that's right. Your boy can't stand up for himself." Sami scoffed and scanned Felix from head to toe.

"Give up and leave this place while you still can. It's not a place for weaklings at twenty." Sami said and left Felix's room.

Felix got up in anger but held himself back from doing anything.

Ana saw this as an opportunity to put words into Felix's head.

"You saw the way he spoke to you. Are you seriously going to let that slide? You're stronger than all the others and yet you hide it. Is that strength or weakness in disguise?" Ana said to Felix.

After a while of thinking, Felix smiled.

"You seem to have forgotten Ana. You taught me two things. How to fight and the same thing you tried to use on me now." Felix said to Ana.

Ana was taken aback by Felix's words, "what are you talking about? What did I try to use on you?" Ana asked Felix.

With a grin on his face, Felix responded, "the art of manipulation."

"That's a skill I will very much put into action once the opportunity comes," Felix added.

"Then what are you waiting for?" Ana asked Felix.

"A trigger," Felix answered and sat down on his bed again.

Ana took one look at Felix and knew that her question-and-answer session with him was over.
