CHAPTER 2: BAZEL

Soon after me, all the other people who were brought to the room also wakes up and receives the same explanation. Ian, however, asks if it is possible to move and talk to other people.

"Yes, of course, we don't mean to frighten you in any way."

After the soldier answers him, he leaves his bed and to another one, without even looking at me. That's good. I won't move a finger should you guys do anything after all.

A bit after, the door opens and three of those indigo priests enter. I thought Ian would start something as the door is opened but to my surprise, there is nothing going on. I can't see clearly who he is with because of all the decorations they put on the beds.

"Once again, we greet you, heroes from another world."

"From another world?" Apparently, there is a girl here as well. And from where her voice came, she must be with Ian.

"Yes, it is surely confusing for you but you aren't on what you called earth right now. You are on BAZEL. Our world is-"

"You have got to be kidding. Hey, I was called because the principal said I would be rewarded if I talked about the guy who was getting bullied. I never heard of this."

"Yeah, that's right! I want to see the principal! My parents will give him a piece of their minds!"

Sigh…fucking idiots. Though, can I really call them idiots? If they knew as I do, perhaps they wouldn't react the same. Maybe it is I who is too cooperative. It might be suspicious if I don't react as well. Nah, fuck it, it is too bothersome to pretend.

"We understand your worries. Please, let us explain first as I am sure it will help clear the misunderstanding."

"Remove your hood before speaking to us." Don't you see that this is one of the reasons why they are so afraid? They surely think a sect of some sort has kidnapped them.

The priests briefly look at me then obey and all remove their hoods the same goes for the soldiers at the door.

The priest who was speaking until now has a normal face. There is nothing demonic about him whatsoever.

"I hope it helps, if even a little. Now, as the explanation, you are all waiting for…"

***

When the priest is finished, all the guys have their mouths closed. I wonder if it is because they can't believe it r because they do.

"Kree!"

The sound of another flying lizard outside makes them all look at the window and I guess they will believe it now.

"There is just no way…"

"But then…All my plans I had for this summer…"

Yep, they believe it. They don't really have the choice anyway. The priest's explanation was pretty much the same as the one in his book.

Bazel, a world completely different from ours, where people can use a power called the aura, just like that woman did earlier. A long time ago, monsters appeared on this world that was never seen before, and a man came to save the world, a hero, who could wield a power that no one knew: magic.

He then said that he comes from a world different from theirs and that's how the tale started. People from another world can wield magic here and only magic can kill the demons. Now, I only wonder how they managed to teleport us. He didn't explain that part in his book so maybe I will find the answer here.

"If you have any questions, please ask and we will do our best to answer them."

"Can we go back to our world? Like right now?" Of course, you can, Ian. It is so simple to teleport people across the world, sigh…

"Sadly, we cannot for now. But I am not qualified to explain why. The high priest will give a more thorough explanation later, if it is okay with you."

"It is not. Call him right now."

"I beg you to wait for at least a little. She is not in town right now but will arrive shortly."

"No, I don't want to-"

"When will we be able to go back then?"

"Shit! There is no signal here. My phone doesn't pick anything."

Those guys all start rambling nonsense and I am getting more and more impatient. The priests seem to have unbelievable patience though. Maybe they were bored until now.

"Sirs heroes, if there aren't any other questions, we would like to introduce you to skills."

Finally!! There it is!! What have been waiting for!

"Skills? What do you mean skills?"

"Hey! You didn't answer me yet. When can we go back?"

"Any questions concerning how to go back to your world will be answered by the high priest. I know it is frustrating but it is better that she answers rather than I who wouldn't know where to start. The process used is extremely difficult to put in place and those who know about it are extremely rare."

Yeah, it's not everybody who works at NASA after all. But try to explain it to selfish little pricks and you will obtain…

"Wait, so you are an incompetent guy? What are you acting all important for then?" …Something like this. These guys really get on my nerves.

"As I said earlier, I deeply apologize for not being able to tell you everything. But I assure you that it is not my desire to hide anything from you."

The priest gets on his knees and lowers his head. Because of that, the mood in the room changes, and while the soldiers start looking distrustful, the idiots who caused all this take an apologetic look.

"Okay, okay, we understand. Just continue."

"Thank you." Ian seems to be the leader of that group. Well, it is a good thing I guess.

"I would like to explain to you what a skill is. I told you before that we can't use magic and therefore kill demons. But the truth is actually that demons can be killed by us as well, or rather put to sleep."

"Put to sleep?" Ian, please shut up.

"Yes. When we of this world kill a demon, its body turns into a rock as solid as metal and it stays that way for a while. Even their body parts turn to metal when severed. We have tried countless times to find out how much time is required for them to turn back into monsters but even now, after a thousand years of war, we only know that the minimum time is 5 minutes."

"A thousand years…"

"Damn, isn't it too much? Even the second world war didn't last five years…For a fight to go on for so long."

Yeah, yeah, whatever, let him finish, dammit.

"Our situation may look difficult but please don't worry. Just like you, heroes were called before, every hundred years, actually. Though, we had a special case ten years ago as a group of people were accidentally teleported."

"Accidentally?"

"Yes, sir hero. Sadly, as I have explained to you, we don't have full mastery of the process as no one from this world can use magic. The process itself was designed by a hero and we have been following his instructions until now. But one thing I am most certain of is that it works."

"How can you be sure of that?" Ian stands up this time and goes to the priest. "I don't know about you but in our world, nobody ever heard of people disappearing because they went to another world and became heroes there. So, there are two alternatives: either everybody who comes here dies or they never make it back once you send them back to our world. So, can you still tell us that it is safe?" Goddammit, I can't take it anymore.

"Sir hero, I swear that-"

"Hey, teach me about skills." I am tired of listening to this useless rumbling.
