A Terrifying Night

Sam and his aunt entered the house.

Her aunt kissed her cheek goodnight, just like she always did when Sam spent her vacations there with her since he was a child.

His aunt went to her room, and Sam went to his, when he got there, he felt as if suddenly, his body was afraid to want to enter the room, as if there was an invisible force that was not allowing him to take a step further inside.

Suddenly, Sam remembered something, because when he left his room towards the dining room to have dinner with his aunt, Sam had left the door to his room completely closed, but now that he was there, facing her and staring at her, he had He realized that the door to his room was open, wide open, revealing from a simple distance the things that were inside thanks to the reflection of the moonlight that filtered through the window that Sam had in his room.

The window curtains moved from inside to outside, letting Sam know that the wind was being quite strong that night and that his bedroom window had been left open the entire time he was outside, without him knowing very well if his Aunt had opened the door for him when he appeared there, or if she was, she always kept it that way.

Sam has stayed there, static, and standing in front of the space where the door to his closed room was supposed to be.

Suddenly, Sam realized why he was feeling that way, because from inside his room, Sam realized he had seen a black shadow beginning to appear from a corner of where the window was located. Sam could be seeing that it was a black shadow that gave the appearance of being a person, but that he could not identify if it was a man or a woman, it was because the shadow had been hiding from the back of one of the curtains that there was no stopped moving until the shadow made its appearance.

The shadow was simply that, the black shadow of a person who, perhaps, was trying to play a bad joke on Sam.

However, that wasn't true, no one was playing a bad joke on Sam.

Nor was he going crazy.

It was all being very real, at that moment.

Sam remained motionless, not knowing what to do, and not knowing how to react, he stared at the shadow intently, feeling a knot form inside his stomach. Sam tried to convince himself that everything might just be a figment of his imagination from not being able to sleep well the night before, and that maybe it was all an illusion, a bad projection thanks to the strong wind of the night and the intensity of the moonlight.

But then, the shadow moved. It was not a simple movement; It was much more than that, it was a kind of contortion that made that sinister shadow, as if something was trying to suddenly change shape before Sam's eyes.

As he stared, Sam felt a current of chills run through his body, and he asked himself, without even wanting to say a single word about it, What was happening at that moment?

Sam didn't understand anything, and he just wanted an answer.

He breathed deeply, seeking to calm the terror that was taking over himself, and then tried to muster enough courage to face whatever was the owner of that sinister shadow.

Then, he gathered his courage, he took a step forward wanting to face what was happening, he tried to get closer, but his inner voice screamed at him not to do it because he was not safe at all.

In the midst of the silence of the night, a barely audible whisper was uttered in the darkness of the room. A faint, unmistakable voice, a voice that seemed to know Sam, but that Sam couldn't recognize, whispered his name: “Sam…”

Sam Feder felt how his heart was beating hard, his thoughts were confused in his head.

Who was there now? Who was calling him by his name if his aunt had gone to sleep in his room, and she was a little too far away for him to hear her with such clarity?

“Who… who is there?” Sam asked, his voice shaky, and also, barely audible.

Sam can see how the sinister shadow moves again, for the second time, this time, taking a much more defined shape that can be recognized with the naked eye.

Suddenly, a figure appeared from the place where it had been hidden all that time, and Sam, upon seeing it, had to take a step back, because his gaze was trying to focus perfectly on what he saw to know what It was exactly what was scaring him at that moment.

It was then when, from among the shadows, an outstretched hand materialized, and he reached out little by little, as if in the air, he was trying to grab something that he needed.

The hand was black as was the sinister shadow, but still, for Sam, it was very terrifying to have to see before his eyes.

The black hand absorbed what little light could enter Sam's room.

Sam begins to back away when he realizes the danger he was being plunged into at that moment, and unintentionally, his body collided with the wall that was right behind him.

The sinister shadow begins to move forward, as if wanting to quickly approach Sam.

The voice was now sounding much clearer, more understandable, but still soft, echoing again inside the room.

“Don't be afraid, Sam. “I am a friend who wants to play with you” said the voice.

Fear and curiosity begin to mix in Sam's mind.

A friend? How could that be possible if he was not one to have friends, much less have female friends?

Besides, no one else was supposed to be at his aunt's house other than him and his aunt.

They were both supposed to be completely alone in the place.
