“How are you feeling?”
“A bit heavy, Sir Jason.”
“Hm… The weight of the chip is almost negligible, but I guess you are feeling the grip. It will attach to your brain.”
Jason thought about the weight of the alloy he used and made sure it was the lightest metal he could create with the properties he needed. The metal was one he invented during his long stay on the Titans, and it had the flexibility and ability to memorise certain signal patterns on its own.
“Is Uncle Samson alright?”
Hanna almost sucked her thumb as she stared at Samson with worried eyes. She then remembered her mommy telling her not to do that.
Uncle Samson was among the few people Hanna cared about. He was one of those few she saw regularly, and Samson knew when to stay away from her. Hanna still didn’t want too many people around her, and she could only stay in the presence of her parents for a long period. As for those two, she never wanted to stay away from them.
“I am alright, Little Miss.”
Samson smiled at the adorable little girl. She had her chubby cat dangling in her arms as usual. She didn’t have friends other than her cat as she considered all the other children in the village as kids. Samson wondered if it was due to Hanna’s maturity or the weird sense of attachment she had with her parents.
She clung to Amelia’s neck as if her life depended on it. It was her usual attitude of hanging on to one of her parents all the time.
Samson didn’t know how his operation went, but he thought it would have been gruesome. Jason rarely appeared around the village area without Amelia, and Hanna wouldn’t stay behind without either of them with her.
‘I don’t know what happened, but Jason must have left Hanna behind to prevent her from witnessing the procedure.’
He felt the slight stench and a young nurse with a face distorted with disgust.
Samson didn’t feel any discomfort besides the weird feeling in his head. He felt the sharp pain on the back of his head the moment he woke up, but it went away after he drank the healing potion from their potion master, Freddy.
“Also, you are weak with no Mana in your body.”
“Ah… Yes.”
Samson thought of the time he spent emptying the Mana in his body. This was the second time he did that, and he didn’t know if it was a success. Last time, it ended up being a failure.
After he failed the training he got last time, he again filled his body with Mana. In fact, Samson knew his body would automatically absorb Mana the moment he walked out of this chamber.
“Here.”
Before he thought any further, he saw Jason taking a weird metallic cube out of his bag. It was famous for having so much space that no one exactly knew how much Jason could fit inside it.
“What is it?”
He took it into his hand ignoring the doctor who was still amazed by the disappearance of the cut at the back of his head.
“It is a miniature nuclear reactor.”
“Huh?”
Samson looked at the device in his arm and back at Jason with widened eyes.
He heard Jason's new robot used nuclear power, but he never expected Jason to throw something like this at him so casually.
‘It may be a game to Jason, but this thing is real. These things will be valuable to us in a few more years.’
He didn’t understand how he should advise Jason to change his attitude.
Jason’s method of keeping things private helped them a lot in keeping their information hidden from the rest of the world. His ideology of looking for loyal people made it easier for the four parties to find people who wouldn’t say a word about their actions back on Earth, just like this group of medical professionals.
However, he didn’t appreciate Jason casually throwing significant items like this one.
‘It is good that we are protecting him. No, I must work harder to ensure he is safe.’
Samson wondered if the implant made any changes, and he wondered if it was a failure as well. However, he couldn’t give up. He had his son, and he had a duty to his country and Jason.
‘I wonder if it is for the country.’
Since the revelation of the impending doom, everyone had been working for themselves. If those at the top could abandon the others, they would have already done that. The problem was there was no escape alone. They would be alone in an alien world after five years, and they couldn’t simply ignore the other people. In fact, sticking together would be their best chance of survival.
Still, even with the impending doom, the countries refused to work together. Almost all the countries other than those smaller ones worked independently to build a sanctuary on Yuriel. Underneath all these, all the forces in the countries also wanted to save their skin, and it became a silent competition.
‘No! It is just four more years. Time is running out, and if they know what Jason can truly offer….’
A year had gone by without anyone knowing, and Samson felt a sense of urgency in his heart. He also wondered how this implant would affect his life back on Earth, but he took this decision knowing the risk that came with it.
‘Whatever this thing Jason put in my brain, the World Builders must know about it, right? Hm…?’
His thoughts came to a halt when he felt a weird sensation in his palm. He felt a connection with the metal cube in his hands. It was as if the power inside the cube was waving at him. It wasn’t how he felt Mana, but this unusual energy wasn’t a type of energy that could fit into his Magic nodes. Rather, he felt as if it was responding to him.
“Do you feel it?”
“Huh?”
Samson raised his head to see Jason and Amelia staring at him with sharp looks.
“The… Energy….”
“Yes. It is nuclear power.”
“I feel as if it is responding to me. Should I try to absorb it?”
Samson didn’t know if it was the correct word, but he felt this could be the type of energy Jason wanted him to feel.
“No! You can’t absorb that. What you need to do is to find the energy to control the power of the nuclear reactor.”
“Huh?”
Samson looked at the pair in confusion.
“The power to control all mechanical sources.”
He saw Jason taking out several books from his pocket.
“This is all I can find about Mechanical Energy. Neither of us can feel it. So it is up to you to find how to harness it and fill your nodes with it.”
“Ah….”
Samson stared at the books with widened eyes. He wondered if he heard correctly. Jason didn’t have the method to harness the type of energy he should be looking for.
“Here. This is what I know about Mana breathing and Natural Energy. You can use this chamber while you are at it. You can log out, but it is better to stay here while you are logged in.”
“I… Do I have to find a method?”
He never thought he would have to develop his own method to become strong. Is that… No one else can use this energy?”
“Not really. But we don’t have access to it, and no one else can feel that energy at the moment. I will assist you, but it will take some time.”
“But… Isn’t that supposed to be impossible?”
Samson wondered how he should invent something based on a feeling, and Jason’s answer left him baffled.
“It isn’t impossible.”
Samson saw Amelia looking at Jason as she answered, and he didn’t know the meaning behind her gaze. He felt it was another secret only two of them shared,
…
“I didn’t think he would feel it so easily.”
Jason whispered as he gently rocked Hanna in his arms.
“It is rare to see someone who has that much affinity. Maybe he will find a method to harness the energy very soon.”
Amelia also felt surprised how Samson felt the energy from the nuclear reactor with such ease.
“Can’t we find a training method?”
Jason wanted to find a solution on his own, but he couldn’t feel the Mechanical energy. The only thing he could do was to assist Samson in finding a solution on his own.
“No. Not at the moment.”
Amelia avoided Jason’s gaze.
Training methods for Mechanics weren’t rare, but she couldn’t access them at the moment. As soon as she powered up her armband, they would sense her location. Then her only option was to run away from this world, leaving behind these two to protect them.
‘It isn’t worth it.’
Not even the empire could protect her from her enemies. Not when they all wanted to find the secret she hid. A simple training method wasn’t worth it.
“Sigh. Then I guess I should create something new.”
Jason didn’t press more into Amelia’s struggles. He knew he had no strength to assist her, anyway.
“Yes, You Should!.”

"Aren't you worried about that old man? Shouldn't we get rid of him?"Amelia only brought it up once Hanna had drifted to sleep, still clinging tightly to her.Jason didn’t look up from his papers."He isn't snooping around, is he?"His hand moved smoothly, turning a page with practised ease. The light from the magic lantern caught the fine lines of modern paper, not parchment.A subtle sign of change. One of many Earth-born advancements quietly seeping into Yuriel under his guidance.Amelia brushed a soft strand of hair away from Hanna’s face, her eyes lingering on the child's peaceful expression."Hm. But none of your people can stop him."Her voice was calm, but the edge beneath it was unmistakable.Jason finally looked up and met her gaze."Let's wait and see," he said."I don't think he’ll stay long. He’s one of the Shadows. They carry out the Grand Wizards’ will. People like him don’t linger—they act."He paused. The words that followed were slower. More thoughtful. He didn’t bot
307 - Peace
"It is indeed impressive. No wonder those fools from the Brodice Kingdom are terrified of you."The hooded figure removed his invisibility, stepping out of the corner with composed movements. His voice was steady and regained the cool confidence of someone who knew his worth.“And you are indeed a powerful woman, Madam Amelia. This is my first time witnessing the presence of a Peak Grandmaster. They are… extremely rare. Rarer than Grand Wizards, in fact.”Despite his previous caution, the Master Wizard now carried himself with certainty. He wasn't someone easily intimidated—and though he wouldn’t pick a fight here, his pride wouldn’t allow him to remain cowering either.“Eh! The ghost is here! Catch it!” Hanna started struggling in Amelia’s arms with sparkling eyes.Amelia held her firmly."That is not a ghost, baby." Jason’s voice was gentle, but his gaze stayed fixed on the now-visible man.The atmosphere in the hall shifted.Tension rippled through the officials as they realised th
306 - The Messenger
The atmosphere grew heavier, the tension thickening with each breath. The envoys from the Brodice Kingdom stood their ground, their jaws clenched in barely contained frustration.Their eyes—especially those of the Grandmasters—never left Amelia. There was fear there, even if none of them dared to admit it. One step too far, and they knew she could crush them where they stood.Still, their leader stepped forward, holding a scroll with trembling fingers masked by feigned authority.“We are envoys of the Brodice Kingdom,” he declared, voice echoing with forced confidence.“I stand here on behalf of His Majesty—the absolute ruler of our lands. In his name, we extend a proposal of peace. We are willing to lift the bounty on your head... in exchange for removing the bounties you have placed on His Majesty and his subjects.”His words were rehearsed—measured—but anyone could see the nerves behind them.“No.” The room froze. The envoy blinked.“W–What?” Even the officials of Light Shone looked
305 - Tell Me
‘This place… it’s really busy…’ The hooded figure observed the bustling administrative hall in silent awe. He had expected chaos—a disorganised mess of self-proclaimed rulers who were unfit to govern. But instead, what he saw was efficiency. Decisions were being made on the spot, minor issues were being resolved instantly, and orders were being swiftly relayed.Even without direct oversight, everything flowed seamlessly. The alien humans had a system, and they had something else, something his people lacked—Instant communication. He knew of it. They called it a forum or something.‘A divided authority, yet still centralised around a leader…’ His gaze flickered toward the two empty seats in the center of the hall. A symbol of true leadership. Those seated around them were not aristocrats, not nobles, but humble-looking men and women dressed in practical, simple clothing. Yet their eyes were sharp, their minds sharper. Each of them radiated competence.‘These aren’t placeholders. These
304 - An Overwhelming Prescence
‘So, this is Light Shone.’His hidden eyes scanned the streets as he walked leisurely, moving unseen alongside the startled envoys.‘Still too small, but… this is serious potential.’He had slipped out of the carriage as the guards inspected it, effortlessly avoiding their scrutiny. While his invisibility shielded him from their eyes, he still occupied physical space—and he preferred not to take the risk of being noticed. With measured steps, he blended into the bustling streets. What he saw defied his expectations. The village was alive. It wasn’t just busy—it thrived.Shops occupied every available space, their owners negotiating prices with eager customers. People bustled past him, engaged in work yet carrying an air of contentment, their movements purposeful, their faces filled with ease. This was not the Light Shone he remembered.‘Back then, it was different.’It had been just as lively, but the stench of blood clung to the air, and signs of death lurked at every corner. "Is this... alright, My Lord?""Yes. And pretend I was never here. Once we pass through, you won’t see me again. Do you understand? No one must know I was ever here.""Yes! Yes, My Lord!""And... no one else knows I am here, correct?" The hooded figure’s voice sharpened deliberately."N-No! No, My Lord! We... we are departing soon!" The envoy stammered, his body trembling as he hastily retreated to the far corner of the carriage.‘Sigh… How useless.’The hooded man barely spared him another glance. The Brodice Kingdom had neither the power nor the will to resist the Grand Order that had been issued. It had been nearly a decade since the last decree from the Grand Wizards, and that one had shaken the world, announcing the arrival of an immortal alien.‘But this might be the first time in centuries that they had to step in to stop a minor war.’He turned his gaze to the passing scenery outside the carriage window, watching in silence. No one, aside from the envoy and a handful of high-ra
