Chapter 13: Steel Bear (Part 1)

Ethan looked at the Entrance of the dark forest and entered the forest once again.

After entering the forest Ethan once again headed deeper into the outer zone of the forest when Ethan was heading deeper into the forest he saw some magic beasts but he ignored them because their level was too low and even if he killed them he will get very low amount of state points.

When he killed the sky eagle that was level 9 he received a very low amount of state points compared to what he received from forest Tiger Ethan knew that the higher level magic beast you kill at the early stage of your evolution journey the stronger you become at the later stages.

Because when you kill magic beasts you just don't receive state points and level up, along with this your entire existence becomes more powerful the more powerful the magic beast you kill at early stage the more powerful your existence will be.

After considering all these things Ethan decided to hunt only high-ranking magical beasts, with his current abilities avoiding low-level magic beasts wasn't a problem for him.

Two hours after Ethan entered the forest be came across a magical beast, when Ethan looked at it he was not able to see its level with his passive skill level appraisal but now that Ethan became level 7 and started his evolution journey he can feel the level of his opponent to some extent.

Ethan was sure that this magic beast was quite close to the forest Tiger in terms of power, after Ethan saw this he didn't hesitate and walked towards the magic beast when he came close to the magic beast he was able to properly see the magic beast it was a three-meter tall bear.

The bear had black fur that looked like it was made of steel Ethan was sure that he will have to do a lot of work if he wanted to kill this bear since its defense looked rather powerful compared to the forest tiger.

When the bear sensed that someone was approaching it, it finally looked at Ethan who was standing just 50 meters away from it.

When the bear realized that Ethan had entered its territory it roared at Ethan and started to run towards him seeing the bear running towards him Ethan also tightly held his sword and took an attacking stance.

Although Ethan became strong since he fought against forest Tiger he knew that he still could not take the bear's attack head on so instead of the defensive stance he decided to attack since the bear is a strength type magic beast who excel in strength and defense his agility was around the same as Ethan and when the bear started to run towards him Ethan was certain that the agility of the bear was around the same as him.

When the bear started to run towards him Ethan also took an attacking stance and ran towards the bear their speed was almost same so when Ethan entered the attack range of the bear, the bear attacked him with its front claw Ethan who was expecting an attack from bear easily evaded the attack and slashed at its right claw with his mana coated sword.

When the sword came into the contact with the claw of the bear it wasn't able to cut too deeply and was able to leave just a small cut.

Ethan quickly pulled back his sword, he was shocked that his attack only managed to leave a small cut and wasn't able to injure the bear seriously.

He knew that the defense of the bear was strong but he didn't expect it to be this strong Ethan took a deep breath and tried to think about a solution while Ethan was thinking the bear also looked at its right claw and when it saw that there was a small cut it becomes more enraged that a small ant was able to injure it.

The bear looked at Ethan with raged-filled eyes and with a roar that shook the ears of Ethan it once again charged at him.

When Ethan looked at it he knew that he can't defeat this bear by using simple means he have to think of something else if he wanted to win this fight.

" Looks like I have to use that technique although it's not perfect yet, and I am not sure if it will work I have no choice, in the worst case I can always run away since its agility is the same as mine" Ethan muttered to himself and released his grip on the sword than the blue aura around the sword disappeared.

Ethan took a deep breath and started to run towards the bear once again but this time a green aura appeared around his legs and his speed increased dramatically previously his speed was around the same as the bear but currently, he was two times faster than the bear.

Bear who was running towards him was caught off guard by the sudden increase in the Ethan's speed, Ethan didn't miss this chance when he came in front of bear he made a horizontal slash towards the bear when the sword was about the cut at the chest area of the bear a green aura appeared around the sword and the speed and the sharpness of the sword increased dramatically.

When the sword came into the contact with the fur this time it made a large cut around the chest area of the bear and the blood spurts out from the wound, the bear roared in pain when its defense wasn't able to save it.

After attacking Ethan didn't stop and stomped on the ground with his full strength because he was using his wind aura to increase his speed he was able to jump on the back of the bear who was still roaring because of the pain when Ethan landed on it's back he thrust his sword at bear's head like a spear.

The sword struck the head of the bear and headed toward the brain of the bear but the bone and muscles of the bear's head were not something that he can cut easily.

When Ethan thrust the sword at the bear's head, the beast felt like he was struck by lightning it never felt so much pain in its entire life because of the pain the bear lost its sanity and started to shack its back fiercely Ethan who was standing on its back crouch down and grabbed the fur on its back so he will not fell from its back.

When the bear realized that its hateful enemy still did not come down from its back its pain turned into fear the beast knew that if it didn't do anything Ethan will kill it sooner or later it started roaring while still shaking its back. Ethan didn't understand why it was roaring like this but he feel like something was not right.

His heart started to beat faster and faster when a possibility came into his mind just when he was thinking about it the worst possibility he thought came true, like answering the painful roar of the bear another roar came from the deep forest it was the roar of another bear.
