Chapter 10: Quest Completed

As he was in the air, there was a sneak attack.

Fortunately, by that time he had finished his attack but he had to change his position in the air abruptly.

Such changing of position in midair is not something that is easy and that alone had uses a lot of his inner energy to push that secret weapons that the person throws at him.

The gust of wind generated by his body had cause that hidden weapon to sway, the trajectory changed and Li Xin moves his sword that is just touches a bit of that hidden weapon edge.

Because of that, he manages to change the direction of that hidden weapon. His eyes look toward the tree but there is no one there.

He quickly stimulated his inner energy to his eyes to see any trace of that person but he did not see anyone.

‘Already escaped?’ he thought to himself. If not for that hidden weapon attack how could it creates such a toll of his body.

‘Like always, I should always have some reserve of his inner energy. There should be no other wolves but then he saw a few wolves runs out from the mouth of the cave

‘Last spurt’ he said to himself. He raises his knees and then in that position of ready to sprint, he kicked the ground under his feet and like lightning he flashes forward.

The sword light flashes, one of the wolf stomach unravels, two other wolves had their head sliced

He felt tired and some parts of his body felt pain. When he was making that maneuver in the air it affected his thighs and knees.

This just strengthened his desire for more body refinement skill.

The sword light flashes a few more times and blood spurted left and right and then there was silence.

Li Xin stands near the entrance of the cave.

Looking at the cave, his eyes that focused toward the inside sees nothing but bones of small creatures, probably the prey that these wolves had hunted. But the cave is not connected to any other cave networks.

Then he looks behind him. All he could see is the dead corpses of these wolves. The amount of wolves he had killed is more than he had killed in the entire week.

There are pieces of meat everywhere.

Li Xin only smiles looking at these and then bow a bit, showing his respect

‘I didn’t know who did this to you but if the system issues a quest to kill the one doing this to you, I would accept it’ he then raises his head a bit, waiting for something

‘Tch’ he then clicked his tongue. Li Xin thought if he said this kind of words, maybe the system would issue a quest or something.

‘I still don’t know how these system work’ he said to himself.

 ‘I guess I have to be happy with what I got’ he thought to himself.

Then the quest notification sounded again

And Li Xin smiles

‘Now. let’s look at the rewards’

The forest is a natural habitats of beast. The host have fought against these beasts to survive and forge a path in the martial way.

The host had managed to survive and eradicate these tortured beasts. The host had also managed to survive being sneaked upon by the perpetrator of these dark things.

The host had done more than necessary and complete the task beautifully. The killing of these wolves is releasing them from their torture which is an act of mercy.

As the host had chosen to side with the heroic path, these act of mercy would increase the reputation of the host toward the heroic path

Li Xin look at the notification and could not help but sighed a bit

‘No bonuses or something?’ he mutters. But the system like always remains silent.

But maybe he would get a few thousand points. Then he shakes his head and the notification window minimize itself to his periphery vision.

Then he looks left and right. He closes his eyes and tries to uses his senses and he did not detect anyone.

‘very decisive. Is that the person who is raising these wolves?’ he thought to himself.

The reason he thought that this person is decisive is simple.

Seeing him being attacked by so many wolves, that person might thought he had another chance and might waited until he is exhausted before taking another shot

But judging from all that he gathers, this person after seeing that the attack did not get the target immediately escape shows how decisive he is. Li Xin even shows some flaws when he was swinging his sword before to induce the one in the background to attack

He did not think long and then he walks toward one of the trees.

He crouched down and look at something on the ground. He brought out a handkerchief and cover his hand before picking something up in the ground and examine it

It is a very thin needle. It is like the sewing needles only this one is longer. And it is coated with something

‘Poisons’ his eyes narrowed.

‘How vicious. Shit. It is not like I have the Yijin Jing or the Nine Yang manual. If I got poisoned by this needle, other than eating some pills how could I expel the poisons. At least wait before I mastered some skill before using this kind of poisonous needle’ he complained

He sighed

Maybe he should think about buying some kind of skill that is related to poisons.

But when he thinks about how most of the manuals that had something to do with poison arts usually would have side effects, he shakes his head.

There is no need for him to do such a drastic move.

He looks again at the needle and tries to see if there is something that could identify it.

Unlike other games, it gives all kinds of freedom to the players. Li Xin should have thought it was weird since then.

After one week he is in this world he is quite sure that this world is a s real as it gets.

But if he goes off from what he knows about this world from the game he plays, this Tang dynasty while sharing the same name of the Tang dynasty in his world, the world is not quite the same because there is grandmaster like existence  

But the history seems to be the same. Only the details are a bit different

Li Xin is also eager to come down the mountain and enter Jianghu but he knows it is not time yet.

He still has something to do with this mountain. If thing goes according to plan, he would reap a huge benefit.

He sighed and then put the needle in the system space. Maybe, he could use it later when he removes the poison.

As he could also analyze poison maybe he could even imitate the poison and uses it for himself.

Then he got up. He is actually impatient to check his reward but he restrained that feeling

Li Xin delay in checking the rewards because he did not want to get distracted.

When he is ranking up his skill or leveling up his power level, information would stream into his mind like he was downloading something direct to his mind

In that moment, he is defenseless and he might even move around to imitate the moves he saw in his mind.

As for his status window, when he brought it up, it would usually cover his vision. Because of this, anytime he either wanted to check his status window or ranking up his skill or leveling up his power level, he would first find some place that is safe.

He did not dare brings up his system window during battle for fearing that it would mess with his concentration and focus.

Others search for safe place to mediate. He searches a safe place so he could immediately level up.

‘Better go back to my hut first’ he thought to himself as he jumps into the air and glides in the air

All the while he was jumping through the branches of the trees he tries to see any trace of the person who had sneak attacked him

But he could only frown when he found nothing

‘This person must have great lightness skill’ he thought to himself. Even though he is jumping around and glides here and there, Li Xin could easily see the ground with his enhanced vision.

And unlike using inner energy to attack, using the Qi and using it to enhance his senses did not take that much of his inner energy reserve

When he looks down and tries to see any trace of footprint, he did not see anything. There are also no broken small branches

Li Xin is quite sure that someone had attacked him. But to be able to leave without leaving any trace, Li Xin is quite sure this person must be very adept and an expert in lightness skill

Maybe not worse than him.
