Chapter 1
Kyle sat at the edge of the bed, scrolling mindlessly through his phone when Tara tossed hers to him without warning. “Pay this,” she demanded, her tone dripping with expectation.
He caught it awkwardly and glanced at the screen. His face nearly bulging out of their sockets. The figures were past his paycheck. It was her online shopping cart, filled with luxury items—clothes, shoes, and a high-end perfume—all totaling almost his entire salary from the two part-time jobs he worked tirelessly to keep up with his tuition fees. Kyle began to sweat, as he didn't know what to tell or do to the ksut he was eyeing in his front He hesitated, biting his lip as his eyes scanned the amount again. “Tara, I just got my paycheck, but I still need to pay my tuition. They’ve already given me an ultimatum. If I don’t pay today, I’m out.” Tara rolled her eyes, crossing her arms in disdain. “So? You’re always broke anyway. Just pay it. Stop being so damn cheap.” she said looking at Kyle with hatred. Tara had always wanted the best things and it was difficult for Kyle to keep up Her words hit harder than he expected. He had always known Tara liked the finer things in life, but hearing her dismiss his struggles so easily stung. Before he could respond, a notification lit up her phone. It was a message. Kyle glanced down instinctively, and what he saw made his stomach drop. He looked back at Tara, “Last night was amazing. Can’t wait to do it again.” Kyle’s hands shook as his mind scrambled to make sense of what he just read. “Who sent this?” he demanded, his voice barely steady. He could feel his anger rising but he tried to keep it down. After all, he had been suppressing himself all this while because he had loved her. Tara’s face flushed as she snatched the phone from his grip. “Mind your business, Kyle! Don’t you dare snoop through my stuff!” She cursed under her breath and stormed out of the room, phone clutched in her hand. Shocked, Kyle scrambled after her. “Tara! Wait!” he shouted, but she was already out the front door. By the time he stepped outside, he was greeted by the sight of a luxurious black car parked at the curb. Standing beside the car was none other than Stephen Marlowe, a classmate of Kyle’s, and the son of one of the wealthiest families in the city. Stephen was holding an extravagant bouquet made of cash—real, crisp bills meticulously folded into the shape of roses. Behind him stood a row of his subordinates, each dressed sharply, their posture rigid, exuding an aura of importance. Students had gathered around, whispering excitedly as they pointed in admiration. Some of the females were actually jealous of Tara “Isn’t that Stephen Marlowe? I heard his family owns half the properties downtown,” one student murmured in awe. “Of course it’s him! That’s his car, and look at those bodyguards. I bet he’s here to pick up his girlfriend or something,” another replied with a mixture of envy and admiration. “I wish I could date someone like that. Look at him, just oozing wealth and power.” Kyle’s stomach twisted as he realized who the crowd was talking about. Tara stopped short, her eyes lighting up at the sight of Stephen and the cash bouquet he was holding. The students’ comments only served to deepen Kyle’s unease, as it became clear just how untouchable Stephen seemed in their eyes. “Tara, for you,” Stephen said smoothly, presenting the bouquet with a cocky smile that radiated wealth and privilege. Stephen made the sight spectacular by even bending a kneel with the bouquet thrust up into Tara's face Tara hesitated only for a moment, her expression flickering between surprise and delight. “Oh, Stephen, you shouldn’t have,” she said, her voice thick with false modesty, though her hands eagerly reached out to take the cash flowers. She beamed with smile looking at his and flash a harder look at Kyle “Just a little something,” Stephen replied, stepping closer and sliding a hand around her waist with the ease of someone who was used to getting whatever he wanted. Kyle’s fists balled at his sides. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Tara had been his girlfriend—at least, that’s what he thought—until mere moments ago. Watching her accept the lavish gift from Stephen made his blood boil. But it was the intimate way Stephen was holding her that truly sent him over the edge. “Tara! What the hell is going on?” Kyle’s voice cut through the murmurs of the crowd as he approached, anger flaring in his chest. Stephen barely glanced at him, his eyes flicking dismissively over Kyle’s worn-out jacket and cheap shoes. “Who’s this?” he asked, feigning ignorance. Tara turned towards Kyle, her expression shifting from excitement to irritation. “What are you doing here, Kyle?” she snapped, her face reddening. Kyle took a step closer, his voice trembling with a mixture of hurt and rage. “Tara, what’s going on? Who is this guy? Why are you—” Before he could finish, Tara’s hand flew through the air, striking him hard across the face. The sound of the slap echoed in the stunned silence that followed. Kyle’s head snapped to the side, his cheek burning, both from the physical pain and the humiliation that coursed through him. The crowd gasped, whispers quickly rippling through the gentle gathering. Clenching his face, “Tara!” Kyle shouted, his heart pounding in disbelief. Tara’s face contorted with anger and impatience. “I’m not your girlfriend anymore, Kyle! Stop acting like I owe you anything. You’re nothing but a broke loser!” Her words were sharp, each one cutting deeper than the last. Kyle staggered back, speechless, as Stephen pulled Tara closer to him. “You heard her,” Stephen said smugly, his arm wrapping tighter around her waist. “She’s with me now.” The crowd continued to murmur, some laughing, others looking on in pity at Kyle’s obvious devastation. It was a scene of public humiliation, and Kyle stood at the center of it, heartbroken and defeated.Expand

Jason and the Enigmatic System Epilogue
The last ten months with Paulina have been incredible, way beyond what I ever imagined. Every day feels like a new adventure, and even our quiet times are filled with happiness.Still, I can’t help but worry about the Enigmatic System being gone and whether I played a part in that. It was the reason I got to where I am now, and I feel a real connection to it. It’s tough knowing I couldn’t help it, but can a system really be more than just a bunch of codes?I’m not the only one feeling this way; the whole team is mourning the loss since their systems shut down around the same time. No matter how cutting-edge our tech is, it just can’t match the unique intelligence of the system. As I sat in the living room, I opened up to Paulina, who was snuggled up next to me, really listening."I can’t shake this feeling, Paulina," I confessed. "I know it sounds odd, but it feels like I’ve lost a piece of myself. You get it; you were part of it too."She gave my arm a comforting squeeze. "I totally

Jason and the Enigmatic System Chapter 221: Perfect Proposal
After we got ready, we strolled hand in hand, with Paulina playfully urging me to spill the beans, but I just couldn’t do it. It was a surprise, and I wanted to keep it that way. We left the VIP room, and a staff member gave me a knowing look before leading us down a hidden hallway. Paulina’s eyes were wide with curiosity as we moved away from the usual crowd. At the end of the corridor, we passed through a sleek, unmarked door that opened up to a private elevator.Paulina squeezed my hand, her eyebrows shooting up in excitement. “Jason, what’s happening? This feels like something out of a movie!”I just smiled and stayed quiet, relishing the suspense that was making her even more curious. As the elevator doors closed, I could feel her gaze on me, searching for hints I wasn’t ready to give away. When the doors finally opened, we stepped out onto the rooftop, and there it was—a stunning black helicopter waiting for us, its blades shimmering in the sunlight, with the pilot already on st

Jason and the Enigmatic System Chapter 220: How Much She Meant To Me
As Paulina rested peacefully on the bed, her sleeping face looked even more beautiful than I always knew. In the luxurious VIP suite, surrounded by plush decor and soft lighting, I felt a strange blend of tranquility and anxiety. I wandered over to the mirrored table where the ring I had bought on credit from that Enigmatic System sparkled softly in the glow. Holding it up, I couldn’t help but admire its detailed craftsmanship. The ring was so shiny and seemed transparent, capable of absorbing light. The several beautiful and unfamiliar stones around it made it more beautiful. My eyes sparkled with admiration, but the silence from the Enigmatic System was palpable and a bit unsettling. Not a single word or sound all day, which felt odd. Was it giving me space because I was with Paulina and it understood my plight? Or had my time with it somehow made it feel... more human? That thought left me feeling both intrigued and cautious.I shook off those thoughts; there were more urgent iss

This was my moment—a chance to reveal the man I had become.“Welcome back, Mr. Lewis!” The hostess greeted me with a warm smile. “Your usual table?”“Yes, please,” I replied, glancing at Paulina. The story feels disjointed. Characters are not introduced properly and the plot-points don't have an explanation, they just happen. Read to chapter 5 before deciding it wasn't worth it anymore.
