CHAPTER TEN

I took my pouched that contained the infinite stone. And looking inside, it was there. Talon took his things and that of Twelve and I just got things for me and Maggie.

Then we rushed outside. Running to the door as fast as we could. The guards were not much now. The drones did an amazing job at that, and the prisoners came in hands.

Overall, our work was reduced.

Finally, we reached the gate and with just one touch at the screen that hovered in the air, Talon opened the gate and we found them waiting outside on my ship.

“You are safe, my beautiful Ive. They didn’t touch, did they?” I spoke as I entered my ship.

They all just looked at me. Questionably. But there was nothing to be surprised about this. People name their things all the time.

“Let’s just go before they come here,” I spoke and went to sit at the drivers sit.

“I will not allow you to drive us. I will take the lead. You just follow. You failed to operate things inside there until I came in,” Talon spoke and sat on the other driver’s chair.

“Just make sure we don’t die,” Maggie spoke and walked to look at her things. So did Twelve. While me and the cat tried to see who was better, him or me.

I looked at Talon as he drove by the ship. Helping me drive my ship. But he was doing it calmly. Like it was his, or he has been in it before.

I just sighed and carried on driving. Then I took a sigh as the ship went as far from the prison as it could.

But I knew we will have them coming after us as soon as possible. We just caused chaos in the prison. Resulting in the death of more guards than we actually expected. And I nearly killed the lord of the planet.

I just hope she will get over it.

I tapped Talon on the shoulder as I walked to Maggie. I needed to talk to her. Find out more about these stones before I get myself into things I shouldn’t have.

Because it sounded like they meant that much to Xenda. He is willing to kill for it. Many people have died playing Xenda’s game. And all for what? Just because he wanted one to find the stones for him.

I found her putting on my headsets. Then she smiled as she noticed me looking at her.

“This is some good music. How did it find itself in your hands? I don’t think I have seen anything like it before. Not heard any music like this before,” she spoke with a smile on her face.

“Aleksander gave it to me when I was a kid. That it belonged to my father or something. It was the last thing father gave him before he kicked the bucket,” I spoke. Beating down my tears. But she noticed and walked towards me. Wiping them off. I just flinched and told my little friend down there to relax.

Getting too excited about having them here with me was one thing. But getting closer to them was something else. Something I should be careful not to get myself into.

For all I know, as soon as we get the stones, they might leave me to deal with my shit alone. They will all go and carry on with their lives. Or one of them might die in the process. That is something I don’t want to feel. Pain in my heart.

I took two steps back from her. But kept a smile on my face for good measure.

“Sorry. But we are now far enough. I can’t sense them. Though we need to go to planet war. That is where the infinite stone of war is. And that together with the stone of Death can cause more damage than you can ever imagine,” she spoke.

“Why exactly don’t you want your father not to have the stone? I don’t think it’s just because you a good. That you fall far from the tree. Such apples are not easily seen.” I spoke.

There was a pause, then she punched my shoulder, then she finally got what I meant. “I might have fallen far from the tree, silly. Also, because my mother died because of the infinite stone of Death that is currently in Father’s hands. He didn’t even care about that. Because she never wanted him to do what he wants to do, he killed her,” she spoke and looked away.

I didn’t even know what to do at this point in time. I wasn’t good at these things. Someone who kept me grounded was my father. Telling me if I don’t do what I need to do to survive, he was going to feed me to his huge dogs.

He showed me a different kind of love. Never allowed myself to cry. So, I do not know what to do in this case.

I just hugged her, though. Hoping it was all she needed and not me saying something.

After a few minutes, we let go of each other and she just sniffed, “that is why I want these stones to be destroyed before anyone loses their parents or kids like I lost my mother. Father would never listen to me about those stones. That is why I made him believe I was on his side and have him send me to get the stone from you,” she explained.

I looked deep into her eyes. Trying to see a fault in what she just said. But she looked genuine. She meant every word she just said. It might have been sad watching her father kill her mother.

“But you know he will come for you, right? He will send someone after you because he might be thinking that I kidnapped you or something. And when he finds out you betrayed him, he will flip. Killing everyone in his way,” I spoke.

She was quiet for a while.

“Twelve will be here to keep her safe. Friends will keep Maggie safe,” he spoke behind me.

I just smiled as I looked at him. I needed them in my life. All of them. Even when they will never hear me saying that. Especially Talon.
