The Arrest Of Xavier.

But as he stared at the crushed car beside him, something within him shifted, he felt a little ache in his heart, though he wanted to ignore it but he couldn't no matter how hard he tried. Memories, painful and bittersweet memories, filled his mind.

He remembered the agony his parents passed through as their body got weakened while life slipped away from them each passing day till they eventually died. His heart ached as he recalled his little sister's sadness over the loss of their parents.

The cries of pain and hopelessness, the memories of his sick parents, the sad expression of Joan his little sister, his painful past, they all filled his memories giving him no chance of escaping the cruel reminder of how much he had lost in his life. His family.

As if the loss wasn't enough, the unthinkable and unexpected happened. He fought hard to stop the tears that pooled up in his eyes from rolling down as he remembered the day he had lost his sister, she was taken away from him by a tragic accident. The pain of that loss cut deep, leaving an indelible scar upon his soul.

Xavier clenched hard on his jaws as he glared at the wrecked car. How could he afford to let someone die here? What was the guarantee that help was on the way?

With a strong resolve, he unmounted his bicycle and pushed it to park it beside the car and after making sure the bicycle was leaned properly on the car, he proceeded to open the back door of the car which already had a dent on it, the rain still pouring down on the surface of the earth without showing any signs of stopping.

Xavier was met with the sight of a man in his mid 60s, whose head was leaned to the other side but he could see the man's white shirt was stained with blood.

He called out, "Sir?" his voice filled with a mix of concern and determination, he nudged gently at the man but received no response. Now Xavier wasn't sure if this man was alive or dead but as he turned towards the direction of the driver's seat, he noticed the driver was not in a good state either. The car was totally quiet.

This could cause him his job but it was fine anyways, this should be worth it, hopefully.

The soft stench of blood reached his nose, the metallic smell causing his nose to itch. Along the smell of blood, Xavier could perceive the smell of wealth, filled in the confines of the car. And now he was sure this person was a rich man.

He looked around for an SOS button to make a quick emergency call as time was running, he located the button on the dashboard and the moment he pressed the button, he was directly connected.

(Scene shifts to a hospital)

An anxious Xavier sat in the waiting hall of the hospital as ordered by the doctor, with his head bowed low and his feet tapping fast on the floor, he was beginning to regret giving a helping hand.

Because that might end up being the worst decision of his life, he took in a deep breath which was accompanied with the typical smell of a hospital, he hated hospitals.

Hospitals were the reason he never saw his parents, however, the last time he'd seen his parents was also inside a hospital.

His mind shifted to his bicycle and the coffee he was supposed to deliver. What could be the condition of the coffee? Was it still hot? Would he loose his job? Xavier questioned himself as he felt the anxiety killing him already.

Maybe he should just leave already, his job here was done, he had no other important things to do here because, clearly he wasn't even related to the victim of the accident, he was just a passer-by.

Yes, that was the right decision. And thus he stood up, ready to leave. But just as he took few steps away from where he sat, his eyes fell on five people who held worried expressions as they ran past him.

The sight reminded him of how he was once in that position when the life of his parents were barely hanging on a loose thread. But those things shouldn't matter, at least not now.

Xavier shook his head and was ready to proceed when he suddenly felt himself being yanked backwards by a strong pull and before he could apprehend what was going on, a silhouette stood before him, grabbed forcefully on his collars and a strong blow landed on his jaw.

"You! How dare you?!" The thunderous voice of the person who forcefully held him filled his ears as the person unceremoniously shook his body and gave him a strong push.

With shock and anger, Xavier was ready to retaliate but he wasn't given a chance to because two men were quick to grab and pull the rascal away from him before he got the chance to return the blow ten times harder.

"Preston! What has come over you?" A woman screamed as she approached the rascal who had attacked Xavier for no reason.

The rascal was no one but Preston Biller, the son of a multimillionaire. Right now, he was seething in rage after hearing his father got into an accident and all he wanted to deal with the person who caused the accident.

The woman was his mother, Edner Biller, she placed her hands on his shoulder and said, "How can you act this way? We are in a public place, please."

Edner, a young woman in her mid 50s, her hair in a tight bun, her satin dress screaming of nothing but wealth, she left Preston's side and approached a confused Xavier who was still trying to understand the sudden situation.

He frowned at the woman who now stood before him and was glaring at him with disgust and anger written all over her face. And then...

*PAK!

A loud harsh sound resonated the hall as Xavier's face was wiped to the left due to the hard slap that landed his cheek. Great! Another slap! But what the hell?!

"You are the piece of sh*t that caused my husband's accident. How dare you?" Edner questioned with her eyes narrowed down at him, feeling no single remorse for her actions.

Xavier was rendered speechless at the woman's accusations, with his palm rubbing slowing on his probing cheek that had been struck too many times today, he stared at her with confusion written on his face.

"Look at that." She pointed, an unamused smile playing on her lips, "Trying to act ignorant, aren't we? You will pay for this, I'll make sure you get locked up in prison, son of a biscuit." She cursed and turned her back at Xavier.

"What are you waiting for? Arrest him!" Edner ordered and two officers approached Xavier and placed an handcuff on his wrist.

Xavier who had lost the ability to speak due to the sudden turn of event was taken away from the hospitals building.
