Chapter 1
"Mommy, I don't want to die, I miss Daddy. Can you tell me who my Daddy is? Will Daddy come to see me? I'm not a worthless bastard!... waaah!"

Serena Swift, with tear-streaked face, tightly held the small hand of Coco, who lay in a hospital bed, covered in blood. She cried, "Daddy will come, Coco, you just have to be a good girl," as she tried to reassure her daughter.

In a panic, Serena reached for her phone and dialed a number she hadn't called in five years. "Xayne, this is Serena. Our daughter Coco had an accident. She's dying. Please, can you come see her... she's been asking for you... please... where are you?" Her voice trailed off as she crumbled to the ground, unable to speak and trembling uncontrollably.

"Serena?" Xayne Xavier's voice shook as he heard the news on the other end of the phone. He was dressed in his green Drakonian army uniform, standing on the rank conferral platform of Mount Tiberius, where the area was sealed off with one hundred thousand soldiers stationed with flags flying high.

It was the once-in-a-decade rank conferral ceremony of Drakonia, and Xayne had just become the supreme commander of the Northern Plains Military District, one of the five major military districts. He had earned this through his victory over one million enemy troops with his three hundred thousand Dragonbreakers Legion, ending a border conflict.

But in this moment, everything paled in comparison to the call he had just received from a number he hadn't heard from in five years. He immediately called back, but no one answered. Without a second thought, he abandoned the ceremony and ran down the foot of Mount Tiberius, under the watchful eyes of officials and generals.

The officials and generals were stunned by Xayne's sudden departure from the rank conferral ceremony, which was the most magnificent and glorious moment. They were left wondering where he was headed in such a hurry.

Icy coldness emanated from Xayne as he quickly jumped onto a military jeep. His loyal subordinates, who had fought alongside him, followed suit and got on the vehicle.

"Hurry! Get me back to Shalholm immediately! Use the fastest speed to find her!" Xayne barked hoarsely at his subordinates in front of him. His voice was like a mighty force of nature, filled with the ferocity he had acquired from five years of battlefields.

But amidst his fierce determination, tears flowed down his face and his eyes were bloodshot.

The subordinates in the jeep were taken aback by Xayne's emotional outburst and couldn't help but feel a mixture of shock and concern.

Without hesitation, the driver of the jeep immediately started the engine and floored the gas pedal. The jeep shot forward like a bolt of lightning.

Meanwhile, another subordinate used satellite positioning to pinpoint the exact location of the phone number in Shalholm.

Simultaneously, three more military jeeps quickly followed Xayne's lead.

Xayne sat inside the military jeep, completely devastated. His body trembled, and tears flowed down his face. "Serena...Coco...our daughter..." Overwhelmed with intense emotion, he let out a deep growl. He had just learned he had a daughter, and for five whole years, he had no idea.

"Go faster! I need to see them!" Xayne shouted, his emotions still difficult to control.

Waves of self-blame crashed inside him like a tidal wave.

Upon hearing Xayne's furious outburst, the driver in the front wasted no time. He slammed his foot on the gas pedal, and with a deafening roar, the military jeep sped off at two hundred miles per hour!

The entire sky seemed to be covered with dark clouds, as if an unstoppable tempest were leading the way for the military vehicle.

Xayne closed his eyes and continued to repeat Serena and Coco's names, tears streaming down his face.

Xayne was once the heir of the Xavier family, an aristocratic family in Shalholm. Five years ago, he married his childhood sweetheart, the daughter of the Lenning family in Shalholm. However, on their wedding day, the Lenning family and the "big four" prominent families of Shalholm framed him. On that night, he had violated the bride's bestie, Serena Swift.

Afterward, the Lenning family and the big four launched an attack, causing the Xavier family to collapse overnight. Xayne's parents committed suicide by jumping into the lake to protect him! But the Lenning family broke their promise and sent people to chase after Xayne. Frustrated and depressed, Xayne fled from city to city seeking refuge with his friend, only to be betrayed and hunted down.

Those months were the darkest days of Xayne's life. Betrayed by his childhood sweetheart and his best friend, and hunted down like an animal, he was on the verge of collapse and could only choose to end his own life. But in the moment he jumped into the river, she appeared.

Serena, the girl he had violated that night, searched tirelessly for Xayne until she found him. She jumped into the icy river to save him and nursed him back to health. Xayne asked Serena why she saved him, knowing he had violated her. But Serena remained silent. Three days later, she left, telling him that if he wanted to survive and seek revenge, he should head south.

Filled with deep-seated hatred, Xayne traveled south where he eventually joined the military and fought for five years. Over time, he climbed the ranks and became the supreme commander of the Northern Plains Military District, overseeing both the Dragonbreakers Legion and the Dracarium.

The Dragonbreakers Legion, known for their awe-inspiring might, preceded their reputation wherever they went.

Comprising of an impressive force of three hundred thousand soldiers, the Dragonbreakers Legion was not only feared in Drakonia but throughout the world. Within the Legion, the Dracarium boasted an elite group of Dracoguards, Dracarium Warriors, and top-notch doctors.

Having attained significant power, Xayne had intended to return to Shalholm and seek vengeance on his enemies after the rank conferral ceremony. However, Serena's phone call disrupted his plans.

As Xayne recalled Serena's words on the phone, his tears intensified, flowing down his face. With his eyes closed, he whispered Serena and Coco's names over and over again.

Xayne remembered Serena, a girl full of sunshine, energy, and kindness whom he had only known for a few days when she was in her early twenties. For the past five years, she had raised their daughter all by herself. He knew without a doubt how much shame and hardship she must have endured as a result.

The devastating news of their daughter's impending death due to a car accident shattered Xayne's heart. He could not help but trembled.

"No, no, no! She can't die! Get me to Shalholm right now! Contact our top three healers immediately and have them come to Shalholm as fast as possible, no matter what it takes, no matter the cost!" Xayne yelled frantically, his emotions boiling over.

The mere thought of losing his daughter Coco, who was only four years old, he, the Supreme Commander of the Dragonbreakers Legion was unbearable. He had never even met her before, and she had yet to experience the beauty of the world. "I won't lose her now, not a chance!" Xayne cried out in anguish. "Coco, wait for me! I'm coming! Serena, hold on!" His voice echoed through the sky, piercing through the dark clouds.

At that moment, the military jeep carrying Xayne raced to a nearby military airport. In a matter of moments, Xayne took control of a fighter jet, piloting it toward Shalholm himself.
