MAGNUS DEI SYSTEM: CRIMSON RESOLVE

MAGNUS DEI SYSTEM: CRIMSON RESOLVE

The SYN virus turned men into flesh-craving monsters, causing the Earth to lose more than half of its population. Just when humanity gave up, fighters known as Reapers arose from the ruins, once infected but now immune. With their new strengths, these reapers could turn the tide. Alex Ray, just turned sixteen, was never meant to survive. Shot for defying a corrupt officer, his body is dumped in the Outer Regions—Earth’s deadliest horror land. However, God had other plans. [Congratulations, Mortal, you have fulfilled all requirements and obtained the Magnus Dei System.] [Host’s potential: Unlimited.] [Rank: 0] The system’s arrival sparks a new beginning with a single directive: survive and ascend, but great power invites greater responsibilities, and there’s even more. Alex holds within his blood the cure to the virus, and now he must prevent both the system and the cure from falling into the wrong hands. Otherwise, the virus will not only end humanity… but rewrite the very design of creation.

Chapter: CHAPTER 16: A SECRET WITHIN
The moment his foot touched the ground, the sound resounded in the ears of the crawlers around and they turned around, but they still didn’t move.Alex jumped over fallen debris, landing with a loud thud, and that was when the crawlers snarled and chased. They knew there was something unwanted in their territory. Not looking back, Alex kept running straight. Aura became his only guidance, informing him of the infected that were closing in.“Thank you, Aura.” Alex breathed out, as he swerved along the path, narrowly escaping the claws of an infected. His lungs tightened but Alex wasn’t going to give up, especially when he could almost taste his destination. “I’m almost there.” He whispered to himself, willing his body to increase his pace. Just as they gathered, crawlers of different sizes, and reached out to him, Alex jumped.Staying in the air for more than five seconds, he crash-landed, skidding on the ground, before his head finally stopped at the foot of a large plant. Alex’s h

Chapter: CHAPTER 15: GRACE SPEAKS LOUDER THAN LUCK
Alex opened the door of the room, and he looked at his sides, there was nothing there, but he couldn’t lower his guard yet.“Activate God-eyes.” Alex muttered and his x-ray vision appeared, and the wall vanished before his eyes, he moved, and kept looking. He couldn’t sense any heat signals which meant the creature must have disappeared. “I could cure him.” Alex muttered to himself, but he shook his head in the next moment. To cure that beast, he would need to subdue it. He sighed. This was another reason he had to get stronger.Dominator couldn’t work on such a strong beast. Therefore, strength was his only option. Soon enough, Alex stepped out of the building into fresh air. He was cautious, knowing that the slightest mistake could lead to him being torn about by a wild crowd.Taking to his heels, Alex moved away from the building. Finding a wider place to train would be advisable for him. Then an idea came to his mind, this was a city, and in a city, there would definitely be a

Chapter: CHAPTER 14: NAMING THE SYSTEM
Alex’s eyes brightened up, this system was gold but he didn’t know why it was given to someone like him.“I don’t deserve this.” Alex said, clenching his fists. He was worthless, and he couldn’t even save his own mother. “Now you have another chance” An unfamiliar voice echoed in Alex’s ears, and he turned around, thinking someone had spoken behind him. Seeing no one, Alex had an inkling of what could have happened. “System?” He muttered. The voice came again in a clearer tone. “You have the chance to save another person. There’s no luxury of waiting anymore.”A refreshing feeling came over Alex, and he nodded. This had to be part of the system upgrade, and he couldn’t help but wonder if there would be any more upgrades in the future. “Yes, there would be future upgrades.” The system answered. Alex nodded, “What can I call you?” He asked the voice.“I can only be named by the host.” The voice replied back. Now he had something to think about, he needed to name the system.“Aura.”

Chapter: CHAPTER 13: FINDING MORE SUPPLIES
“If there's one of these infected here, then there's probably more around the corner?" he thought to himself as he raced through the outpost. "I have to get out of here but not with that thing after me." he thought, "Maybe I can slow it down."He looked both left and right trying to see what he can and can't grab. There were boxes, different unusable items that his visual came in contact with. He doesn't hesitate for a split second and swiftly takes them one after the other and hurls it back at the infected. Alex made a few perfect strikes, knocking the infected back. He saw it, its movements and focus had dwindled a bit but not for long. He came straight back to the exit he had arrived through and tried to burst his way out. However, the door didn't budge open. Why did it have to be now?All of the sudden, the door had become a major problem. He shifted his gaze back to the stair, loud deafening shrills escaped the upper region. Chapter: CHAPTER 12: LOW CHANCE OF SURVIVAL.
Alex stood with his hand running across his hair. Jake and Lois had already left with Jake, leaving him alone in the room.He gave a tired breath before he headed out of the scavenger camp. He was able to find his way out using the map directions.Just as he made it to the gate, he paused for a moment and remembered Lois' words, it played just like a tape and it strengthened his resolve to prove his capability. He walked out without looking back, his gaze locked on the map as he searched for a potential location to begin his digging. “Two days, or your friend dies.” It came again and he couldn't shake off the feeling. He needed to act fast. And then it occurred to him, the system, he remembered the acquisition protocols and he recalled a vital mode that would be beneficial for this task!“Scavenge Mode.” He licked his parched lips as he quickly activated it. “Activate Scavenge Mode.”[Scavenge Mode Activated][ Location: Tier 2 Zone.][ Risk Level: Moderate.][Loot chance: 40%][Fin

Chapter: CHAPTER 11: MAKING A DEAL WITH THE BOSS LADY
“What about the other guy?” Jake said, pointing at Trent.Lois took a good look at him before she waved him off.“Don't worry, keep him with the other workers. As long as he isn't placed in that marketplace, he won't be found.”She had a smile on her face while her attention was solely on Alex.Alex gazed at the floor. If such people existed in the Outer Region, which was known to be the second-deadliest region, it meant there had to be a chance that his father survived. He needed to do everything to find his father.Suddenly, there was a loud ding in his head, causing him to raise his gaze.He could hear the system’s voice clearly, which hadn't happened before. It had to be part of the new upgrade. The voice was soft, yet commanding.“You have identified your first objective. Locate your father in the Outer Region.”Alex slightly nodded his head. He didn't need the system to tell him that, as it was something he was already planning to do.Lois raised her brow. Why was this kid in

A dozen thick rods formed in front of her, ready to launch at the Daegi. “Would you need any help?” Hera said, directing her question to Roshan. “I don’t know yet.” Roshan replied calmly. We aren’t done yet.” Roshan yelled furiously.“I’m done with you, Roshan. Weren’t you meant to be leaving? You had your chance to go and now you returned because of your selfishness. You neglected your friends and family to come back here, Roshan.” Heath cried out, and laughed.“Roshan, you fool. You have been blinded. This is what I like. A hero who thinks only about himself. I’m so happy that you are finally true to yourself.” Heath grinned widely. His face contorting into one of pure madness.“I said, Shut up!” Roshan moved swiftly, putting his attributes to use. Chapter: DAEGI'S RAMPAGE
“We need to get out of here immediately.” Roshan blurted out in a rush. He straightened his body but he still couldn’t get rid of the pain. “What do you mean, Roshan?” Hera looked at him. She had picked up Siera who had just woken up, and placed her on her shoulders. “A Daegi is out there.” Roshan uttered, a look of worry etched on his face. This was something that would kill them. “A Daegi? “ Hera’s eyes shook. She clenched her fist, she didn’t know if she could face an actual Daegi while she had to protect these kids. The last time she held off a Daegi was because she summoned him, but would she be able to do with the current amount of mana she had left. “How many rings did you see?” Lans asked, he didn’t know why but he just couldn’t get rid of the suspicions he had for this kid. “I… I don’t know. We have to go see it ourselves.” Roshan spoke, and he moved to his father. “I’m so happy you are saved.” Roshan said with a smile and he placed his arms around Old man Fyi, giving

Hera turned around in an instant, grabbing Lans’ collar, and she slammed his back onto the cold hard wall. Lans looked at her directly in his eyes before bringing his head low. It was his responsibility to take care of them but he had done a terrible job. He couldn’t bring himself to say it to Hera’s face. “Answer me, Lans.” Hera growled at him. “Heath took them away. He had taken away Siera as a ransom and a bet saying that if we found Roshan’s father here, he would release her.” Lans replied her. “And you let him?” Hera’s hold on Lan’s collar tightened, and cracks started to surface on the wall. She felt a touch on her hand, and looked up, it was Read. “Give him a break. We had no choice.” Read said with a low voice. Hera sighed and released Lans. “Where is Roshan?” She asked, her eyes moving towards Lans.“The coward was taken after we lost consciousness due to a gas.” A soldier muttered but Hera heard the words. “Coward?” Heath questioned, looking at the soldier that had sp

“My father?” Roshan looked at Heath as the boy in white paced around the laboratory, holding the bloodied scalpel in his hand. “Your father was a killer.” Heath’s voice rang out. His eyes held no emotion as he spoke.“I know.” Roshan replied back to him. His teeth was clenched as he struggled to keep his focus on Siena and calculate how much time she had left.Roshan’s father being a killer wasn’t new to his son. He was a war veteran, he would gotten rid of the head on the neck of the enemies and Roshan as his son had grown to accept it. “...” Heath was silent before he let out a low chuckle. The sound of the scalpel hitting the ground echoed in the laboratory.“So you know he killed my parents?” Heath’s eyes grew cold, and for the first time, Roshan was sure he saw a strange emotion on Heath’s face before it quickly switched back to normal. “My father would never do such a thing.” Roshan replied.
