Chapter 1: Behind The Scene

The rustling sounds of the trees filled the night as a passenger bus drove swiftly by the roadside.

They were heading to thunder town and had already entered the town woods.

The driver maintains his pace to avoid some falling rocks by the roadside.

Soft hip-hop music filled the bus as everyone had forgotten the town's history.

A whispering sound was heard near the woods which made annoying noise.

Not bothering to know, the driver assumed it to be as a result of the rustling sounds.

The whispering became louder, leaving the passenger in remorse.

The death crawled down the roadside but its body was not seen because of the full moon.

Only a huge shadow was seen but sooner the crawling sounds and whispering stopped.

"They are nothing to fear, it is just an illusion" the driver assured them as he drove gently across.

Back in those days, people believe in the unnatural nature of thunder town.

They made false rumors about a creature but now, thanks to some brave men, Thunder town is as safe as it is today.

You can see for yourself that everything is back to normal.

Suddenly the bus stop for no reason.

"The engine must be damaged, let me check it out," the driver said and went out.

"Thud" blood splattered all over the rear window.

As the night whisk away.

           **********

      At the police station

"Violent crime 3 is working hard to find your missing dog." A young detective around his twenties assured a woman who was in grieve over her missing dog, Jackie.

"Please do, he is like a family.

He went missing five days ago and couldn't be found," the woman said and cried out.

"Don't worry ma'am, we will inform you if we find him," detective Smith reassured her.

"Don't worry ma'am, he is a great detective. Just leave the case into his hands," George a fellow detective assured.

"Take this, it is the picture of my dogs. You will need it sooner than later," the old woman said and gave them the picture, and left.

"Hey man how is work," George asked.

"Good bro, I slept in the office today so how come do I look fine" detective Smith replied.

"Of course you are the best detective in this department.

So how could you rest when they are still many crimes cases to solve," George answered while taking a sit in front of his desk.

"So, did you get what I told you," Smith asked?

"Yes but I wonder why you need it," George inquired.

"Just get to the point and don't ask me questions," detective Smith replied.

"Ok, they are 10 missing dog cases and most of them claimed to have wandered into the woods, so there are the pictures I could get on each of them.

Help yourself," George said and gave him the pictures.

"Don't you find it suspicious? How come they all miss within five days," Smith thought clearly to himself.

"Stop being a weirdo," George advised.

"And dogs can get lost in the woods if they can't find their way rounds. It's not like they were werewolves or something," George teased.

"Here we go again, can you be more reasonable for once," detective Smith asks already piss off.

"Oh man, are you scared?"George ask.

"Why should I," Smith answered.

"Anyway, if so, I stayed all night watching this horror movie as the vampire and werewolves had a bloody war in the village.

The movie ended when the werewolves came steering right in the screen," he said and burst into laughter, Knowing Smith was not someone who loves horror movies.

"George turned and place his hands on a fur.

He feel the warm breath so he turned and scream in fear, leaving him on the floor.

"Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha," Smith burst into laughter.

George almost died when he saw the police dog.

"You amazed me.

You almost died after telling your own horror stories," Smith said and laugh.

George was breathing heavily after the sudden shock.

Don't shriek in fear, it is not a werewolf.

Jack has been helping us recently in most crime scenes, Smith assured.

"Ok, I admit it," George replied.

"My girlfriend insisted I watch a horror movie with her which I almost died when the scenes became horrifying," George admitted.

"You are a detective, don't let ladies tie you down from looking at the bigger picture," Smith advised.

"Technically, but she got this amazing charming I can't resist," George replied.

The phone started ringing.

Smith took the phone and spoke through.

"Hello, who is this," he asked.

This is the chief, " the caller spoke through.

It is the chief, Smith informs them.

"What is violent crime 3 doing, they are a crime scene.

Down the part, a passenger bus carrying 12 passengers were just murdered overnight in the woods," the chief said and hang up.

"What did he say," George asked.

It is a murder case, Smith replied.

Gather the team, we are heading down farmstand roads.

    At the crime scene

"What the hell did this.." a high-ranking officer yelled as he saw the incidents.

"We don't know but we have already informed all the detectives including Smith," the prosecutor assured.

"Who is this Mr. Smith," the officer asked.

"Don't worry sir, he is the most talented detective in our department.

He solves many crimes cases and he is good at tracking murdered cases," the chief said.

"I have not heard of him before. Has he been given any promotion," the officer inquired.

"He is a man of the high esteem he believes he is fine with his position"

            *** A Few Hours later***

Mr. Smith and other detectives arrived at the crime scene.

The detective was all shock as they saw the incidents.

"I hate being a detective when you have nightmares every day" George muttered.

Smith went near the bus, observing every inch of it.

" Are you Smith?" the officer asked from behind.

Yes, sir, I am Smith a detective, Smith replied.

"What did you make of this incident," the officer asked.

I am yet to make a wide guess of this incident because the bus was attacked, Smith answered.

"Let leave the inspection to the detective and see what they can make of the situation," the officer said.

Smith observed every inch of the bus and he knew that they were claws marks on the surface.

It wasn't like he was watching a horror movie.

He peered through the windows and he saw cracks.

The attacker must have smashed the glass, he thought himself.

"Sir we found something," a detective called.

The inspector came near and they could vividly see the claw marks of that creature on the vehicles.

Most of the mirrors were smashed.

"Sir we found this," the detective said and pull out a large piece of claws that clearly belongs to a creature but clearly, the claws were terrifying.

It had a much longer and wider width than the claws of any ordinary creature.

" A vampire " George muttered which makes the officers look at him in annoyance.

George wasn't the only one shrinking in fear as the officers themselves were scared to their Wit.

"Where is Smith?" the officers ask trying to know what the famous detective who was known for solving most murder cases in the state was doing.

"Smith" Dave the chief officer called.

He couldn't be found anywhere at the crime scene.

"If I had to make a wide guess, he had already run, as that is what a sensible human will do in this situation," George blunt out without thinking.

He was given a deadly glare by the officers which made him stay still.

"Where is his dog," Dave asked.

"He took it which means he is still at the scene," George replied.

"Guys check this out," Smith called from a distant side of the road.

"You are still alive," Dave muttered.

Check this out, the track on the woods was made by a creature, Smith said trying to picture the scenes not knowing the last sentence gave everyone a shock.

That creature, he continued, clearly came from the woods.

The vehicle must have been coming into the city at the moment.

So it followed the woods route which means it had an encounter with the creature.

Look at these tracks, the bus tracks could be seen from here which means that the driver increases his speed after sightings the ferocious-looking creature.

It gives them a hot chase, running a distance it finally caught up and smashed the vehicle glass leaving the driver wounded.

The paws of the creature went round the bus which meant that the beast walk around parring into the vehicle.

Perhaps searching for someone.

Look, they are a bullet which meant that someone took an offensive method, Smith demonstrated the entire scene he pictured.

Smith turn around to look at his listeners but they wore a frightening look.

They had all been carried away into the demonstration, as the scenes itself gave them all a sight.

"You are a talented detective," the police officers commended.

"But you don't expect me to believe in horror stories.

A bus traveling in the woods was attacked and all 12 passengers down and were all done by strange creatures that came from the woods.

Find me a better explanation for this murder and not evident pointing to the unnatural event," one of the officers stated trying to remain calm knowing Smith was someone who never made a mistake when judging a crime scene.

"Boys let move out.

Get the bus and all the bodies of the passenger for more details," the police commissioner ordered referring to the soldiers at the scene.

"Sir there is a situation here" one of the soldiers called.

They went close to the bus.

"The door wasn't open, it was locked," the soldier said.

"Then how come they are all dead if the attacker wasn't in the bus" the commissioner replied referring to Smith.

As no one could vividly picture the crime scene as he did.

"Smith hasn't taken his observations into the bus.

So clearly they were more to it.

"Break the door" the commissioner ordered.

They went into the bus why many stood outside as Smith was brave enough to attempt the case.

Smith observed the passenger bodies, they were all burnt on the face.

"What the hell did this," George muttered as he was frightened by the burnt marks on the face.

Suddenly all the dead passengers get up.
