Passing Selections

In the Meng mansion, Huang no longer kept going out to collect news after realizing the day of the selection and informing the servants to remind him to incase he is very engaged to forget.

In the place he usually practices, he continued to train in the sword art as well as boxing technique.

He had yet to perfect the boxing technique and it was also a way to improve his physique.

He had to keep practicing without any other external help he would take some time to reach the peak of human level.

Currently, he could feel some energy seep into his body from time to time.

It happened mostly when practicing the sword technique.

But he just learned it was not sword force but rather qi

The quantity was just too small and over the years it has been accumulating and washing his bones, and even internal organs.

If he could manage to accumulate it all over his body then he might get benefits.

The muscles and bones can be nourished from the small qi.

The qi is still in the form of gas and thus has no real significance other than the nourishment of bones and muscles.

To him, it is still enough as it can allow him to have an increase in strength to match an adult.

Currently, he lacks just little to enter that stage.

He assumed the need to gain another technique once he joins the sect branch could help him improve his efficiency if he could run different techniques at the same time.

The idea was indeed crazy and no one has been able to think of doing this since it seems contradictory to the methods of practice.

He however thinks differently as someone with some past life of memory.

The days passed by slowly as he got himself immersed in the practice until eventually, the day arrived.

Last week he took a few hours every day after his shower to go and accompany his mother to see his sibling.

As he observed his sister, Huang was lost in thought.

In his previous life though very intelligent and successful he did not have siblings.

Based on the situation of the time it might have seemed convenient to others. Thinking back now he indeed missed a lot at that time.

As he pinched her face and had his mother scold him as usual he left laughing as he saw his sister observing him curiously.

"Ooh, you admire your brother's handsome face right. Hahaha.."

After he laughed his little sister seemed to also be happy and laughing.

Being in a good mood, he went back to practice the sword.

He had read something interesting in some records he bought.

At first, it seemed like it was a rumor but after checking out several journals on sword cultivation he had some insights.

It read 'For a sword cultivator, attaining perfection is the threshold to claim oneself as a sword cultivator. Once the sword cultivator manages to reach the realm of perfection they can still improve and some take the shortcuts by comprehending more techniques to generate sword force and sword intent. For such cultivators, perfection level is usually their end, and thus it is understandable. But the sword intent they comprehend is not true sword intent.'

Comments like this made him very wary of some of the things he thought he knew.

Perfection is also ranked and in the initial stages, one can freely change the way a technique is used at will. The second level is comprehending an artistic conception of the technique.

Finally, the last stage is the threshold of breaking through to transcendence.

Transcendence is the highest level of perfection and is said to give birth to sword intent.

As he had read the continuation,

'At this point, one can be said to have reached a level where their strength sword cultivation has begun.'

With such ideas he could not sit still, his goal is to reach transcendence too.

After achieving such a goal he might have plans to think about his realm.

Based on his understanding he might indeed not have a problem improving his strength in the sect branch.

The only issue is that he might take his focus on some things in his first year. It is all to be clear about the direction to take.

Shaking his head he took up the wooden sword and kept waving it continuously during the night and on some occasions sword force could be produced.

After having played with the sword until midnight he cleaned himself before taking a nap.

The next day, he woke up at noon, and luckily the activities of the selection were still ongoing.

After everything was done he rushed to the location using a horse he took close to an hour to arrive.

He then registered himself and after having an idea about the actual situation he relaxed and waited.

The most important thing was that he could take a pick at the kind of test he wanted to take.

For sword cultivators, the most important way was to prove their way using the standard publicized sword art.

He took the direction of those that had reached great accomplishment.

In the room close to a hundred people were present.

He took his time but he could see some individuals who were being chased from the place.

"Dare to waste our time here. If you know you have yet to reach great accomplishment in sword art better not come here. There are other places to go and register otherwise like them you might lose qualifications for this selection."

Upon hearing the words of the elders inspecting the level of sword comprehension, Huang could already guess some things.

"Great accomplishment is not easy and some people are trying to get lucky." Huang thought as he waited.

He then looked around and among the hundreds of people gathered he could see the blue-haired woman. A man could also be seen at her side with the same hair color.

He found that color very intriguing and even assumed they were from the ocean region.

Their hair color resembled the color of oceans from his previous life. As if perceiving something the blue harried girl looked around and Huang had already looked away. He did not want to start some misunderstandings.
