Chapter 9

Kyle couldn't think straight at the moment, how he badly wants to believe his eyes are deceiving him, the shouts, the gatherings, the loud wailings only brought confusion to his soul and tears to his eyes. He saw her dead body, he was present at her burial, what went wrong? Could it be a reincarnation? Could it be a twin revenge? Or did he mess up things? He couldn't face the public, he couldn't even stare at his reflection in the mirror. He felt played, he felt ashamed of himself, she had just made a fool out him. The cries pierced his soul the more as he stared at the dead bodies.

Early this morning, bodies of three high school teens were dumped in front of the station. They were brutally stab, worse than they had ever witnessed with their hearts ripped out. Their parents had rushed to report their missing children when they met the sight. People had already gathered when Kyle arrived, he pushed through the crowd and felt cold instantly. The officers managed to get Kyle because the public tried to strangle him. He was accused of giving the citizens false hope, they said he connived with the killers to allow the citizens feel relaxed before striking again. It was at that moment he hated his very existence and for the first in a very long time, a tear slipped.

"Detective Kyle" the general yelled matching towards him but he couldn't utter a word nor look the man in his face.

"Explain" the man ordered trying to keep his cool, but Kyle was still shocked to his bones.

"KYLE NEWTON" he yelled causing every one to flinch in fear.

"With due respect sir" detective Spencer started, "no one can explain this, even Kyle is in shock, I plead you let him cool down, something is obviously wrong somewhere" he pleaded with his head down.

The only comment Kyle could make at that moment, "I'd leave first" he said and left with a bow, he headed home immediately, he'd have opt for a bar but he didn't have the least strength to lift a glass to his lips, it was a miracle he actually drove home.

He met his mom who hadn't left for work yet, and she looked surprised.

"Kyle dear, you're back" she asked.

"Yes" he replied climbing the stairs.

"Did something happen" she asked but he didn't stop.

"Kyle" she called out and he stopped, "what's the problem" she asked but he couldn't reply even if he wanted to, and she went to meet but gasped on seeing his puffy eyes.

"Who dares make my son cry" she glared and he sighed, connering his way past her.

"Oh my poor baby" she pouted, "Karina is on her way back, that should cheer you up" she smiled and left the house but Kyle groaned in anger kicking his door apart and slamming it from the inside.

"I think he loves his surprise" Randy laughed as he watched Laurel dance.

To her it marked her best kill ever, it was the perfect welcome back party she imagined, she smiled as she remembered the speechless look on his face and her smile turned to laughter, roaring laughter, she felt proud of herself.

"I'm a bad person" she laughed grabbing her glass of wine.

"I should have considered their ages, you should have seen their parents cry so badly" she pouted then laughed again.

"I really am a bad person" she giggled, gulping the whole content, she tuts, "something's missing" and left for the bathroom.

"Randy close the door on your way out, I'd need a long nap for tonight" she smiled and she could hear Randy murmuring on his way out.

Cheryl's POV

Waking up from sleep, I rolled on my bed lazily from one end to the other smiling, I can't remember when last I had such a long nap. I just felt lazy today, I had woken up at first in the morning but was to lazy to go down for breakfast and went back to sleep only to open my eyes now. I went downstairs and as expected I was the only one home and mum had left my food alongside my chores for the day on the dinning.

"Shopping" I scoffed staring at the list.

"My going out today should be in the evening with Kyle" I muttered going back up to freshen up and start the day's work.

"Arrrrrgghh, I hate Saturdays" I yelled.

Walking into the mall, I started shopping for beverages and some snacks. I was about to pick the last cereal on the shelf when my phone beeped, to take my phone off my back pocket a hand grabbed the cereal.

"Hey, that's mine" I half yelled.

"I grabbed it first" she scoffed.

"Psycho" I hissed.

"Hey witch, we meet again" she said and I stared at her face with a shocked expression.

"You" I muttered.

"Do you still want this" she smirked walking closer.

"Uhh.. no.. I wasn't even gonna buy that" I chuckled nervously and she smiled leaning in.

"I thought so too" she whispered and left.

"Thought you were ready for a fight" my subconscious mocked and I huffed shutting it off.

At The Airport....

"Los Angeles" she squeeled.

"Kyle Newton" she giggled.

"I've missed y'all" she laughed and a chaffeur walked up to her.

"This way ma'am" he bowed.

"Help with my luggage will you?" She smiled walking off chewing her gum loudly.
