Chapter 6: Familiar Girls

Looking at the dispersing crowd, Tolly was also taken aback as he noticed that they were all dressed in ancient costumes.

The costumes were all made of rough cloth and without any trace of industrial polyester material.

What horrified him most was that he wasn't even in any scene of film shooting, for he didn’t have any cameras or cameramen in sight. In the distance, he didn’t see any telephone lines, or cars, either. And no one was holding a mobile phone in their hands. There was no evidence of industrial society that he had been familiar with.

‘Oh, Hee-hee was just telling me the truth. I’ve transmigrated into a new world…’ Tolly thought.

“A-a-are you a zombie, or a scary demon that comes out of nowhere? Oh, my god, is there somebody there who can help me?”

The coroner beside him quivered as he pointed at Tolly. He was so terrified that he fell flat onto the ground. He decided to take his leave without saying goodbye, but his feet, not obedient to him at all, did not be able to get him away for a single inch. He was shivering all over.

"You even have no idea whether I’m a human being or a corpse, how can you be a coroner? Apparently, you are not qualified for the job. I really want to give you a punch in your chest, but before I change my mind, run!”

The coroner struggled his way to the distance, not daring to turn back.

“How outrageous!“ Tolly exclaimed.

As he spoke, he coughed a lot and some black smoke rose out of his mouth again. Well, it was certainly the after-effect of being struck by lightning.

It was then that Tolly had time to look at himself. He found that he was not wearing his outfit in his past life. Instead, he was dressed in a similar costume as the other people did. However, its material seemed to be worse.

‘Holy shit! I’ve always thought that I can transmigrate to become a duke at least. Then I can live like a king and eat like a queen. But are you kidding me?  I guess I’m not even a commoner now. Look at what I wear now, I’m afraid I’m a little slave, am I? What the heck!’

With another look at himself, he discovered that he was even smaller than before. He dreamed that he would be tall, rich, and handsome, but how could he end up being shorter, thinner, and poorer?

‘it’s unfair!’ he whispered to himself.

And suddenly, a terrible thought flashed into his mind. He hastily pulled his trousers open to look inside.

‘Oh, thank goodness! You’re still there, baby!” he heaved a relieving sigh.

He was glad to see that the most important part of his body was still as good as before. In a sense, it actually grew a little bit bigger and stronger than before.

After all, no one would have the courage to live on if his majestic eagle-like stuff turned into a sparrow.

Tolly told himself that he had better live a good life for the rest of his days in this new world. Though the Hidden Dragon System might not be so fantastic as other ones, it was still a system anyway. If he could make good use of it here, he was confident that he had a good chance to rise to power and lead a nice life afterward.

In his mind, self-discipline and tenacity were the keys to success.

While he was still pondering over something, all of a sudden, it got quiet around him. No, it was more than just getting quiet.

In fact, a dead silence reigned among the crowd. The crowd was all looking in the same direction.

Was there a big shot coming over? Who should it be? Tolly wondered.

The silence was soon broken by the whispers of the crowd. Some of them seemed excited, some awkward, and some blushed.

Utterly confused, Tolly subconsciously looked in that direction, too. In a heartbeat, he came to realize why the crowd would react in such ways, for a beautiful girl in red flanked by a group of people was coming towards them. She was walking slowly but elegantly.

The girl had cherry-colored lips and shiny white teeth. With fine eyebrows above, her eyes seemed filled with a deep, ethereal glow. Anyone who looked into these eyes would feel like jumping into a clear spring. It was so cool and pleasant that no one would like to get out.

With a gentle breeze, her white ribbons tied around her willowy waist fluttered in the air, making her look like a pure fairy standing on a misty high mountain.

"Wow!" Tolly could not help but let out an exclamation, only having to blame himself for being too illiterate to be able to express her beauty.

As she came closer to Tolly, her face seemed more familiar to him.

"Oh my god!" Tolly exclaimed again.

What surprised him most was that the girl before him looked like the spitting image of Jenny. Did Jenny also transmigrate into this world?

‘No way! It’s totally unscientific!’ Tolly thought to himself, but what he had seen just now seemed to be unexplainable.

“Hey, Tolly, why are you so surprised? Now that you’ve seen our Miss coming, why don’t you kneel down and say hello to her? How dare you be so uncourteous?” said a slim figure behind the girl in red.

Tolly gave her a quick glance, finding a young girl in a purple dress was pointing at him with her right index finger.

She had an unusual hairstyle that was out of place for this world—a blonde perm. Though having an angry look on her face, she was by no means an ugly girl. On the contrary, she was a beauty with two big round eyes and a straight nose. Even her pout put an air of loveliness on her.

Besides, she had an hourglass figure. Donning her tightly-fitting dress, she looked extraordinarily sexy.

"Oh my God! oh my God!" Tolly couldn't help but exclaim once more as he looked at the girl in purple.

Unbelievably, wasn't this Luna? Had she also reincarnated?

Tolly felt this new world was getting more and more intriguing. Was he destined to have some sort of connection with these girls??

"What's wrong with you, Tolly? Why do you keep being rude to our Miss? You shouldn’t be acting like that! It’s only been a few hours, but how could you forget Miss and me?” the girl in purple said in astonishment.

Also shocked, Tolly was speechless and did not know what to say. At this very moment, some familiar yet strange information came flooding into his mind.

It felt familiar because the world was much like the ancient times of his previous world. It shared almost the same language and culture. Meanwhile, it felt strange to him because it turned out to be a world of cultivation.

Formal schooling here, apart from the learning of traditional languages, mathematics, and PE, also offered training in becoming a cultivator. A student here, so to speak, had to be trained academically and martially.

In his previous world, the vast majority of students could not even be able to catch a hen. However, the students here were extremely powerful. Some could shatter huge boulders only with a small punch. Some could turn the sea with a single kick. And what’s more, some could even fly beyond the clouds with a single step.

The memories that welled up in his mind also told him that it was a world called Goldearth. And he was now on the small island of Wesilver in the south of Goldearth, a bizarre place filled with industrious cultivators, powerful immortals, vicious demons, as well as ferocious beasts.

Despite its oddness, Goldearth was still a world of jungle.

At present, the Wesilver island was ruled by the Rose Dynasty. Most of the powers were in the hands of the royal court. The stronger one was, the greater power and authority he would be able to get. Hence, the emperor of the Rose Dynasty was the most powerful practitioner on Wesilver island.

Of course, there were also some other top cultivators living in some secret caves. They, with no interest in joining the dynasty as officials at all, usually kept a low profile and enjoyed a carefree life of their own.

The Rose Dynasty was an incomparably thriving one, vast in its territory and rich in its resources. Emperor William ruled the country in peace and was respected by the neighboring states. His people worked happily in their different professions, and his peasants were especially blessed by favorable winds and rains.

The high-ranking royal nobles scattered throughout the island, each with their own fiefs and private armies. They would usually deal with local affairs, large and small, together with officials appointed by the emperor William.

There were 400 marquises in the country who offered their allegiance to four dukes, each of whom ruled over 100 of these marquises on half of Emperor William.

The four ducks were: the East Duke George Churchill, the south Duke Charles Smith, the West Duke Thomas Addison, and the North Duke Bill Washington.

The city of Fanta that Tolly was now in, was the fiefdom of Duke Charles Smith, also known as Lord Fanta.

The previous owner of the body was also named Tolly. He had been picked up by Lord Fanta during his trip back to Fanta, so he could be considered an orphan. Later on, he had been raised in the Duke’s Mansion as a boy servant. Of course, if he worked hard enough, he might be able to become a guard in the future.

However, he had no gift in cultivating at all, for he had only gotten a talent of D level—almost the lowest one for cultivation. Hence, he was a waste of space when it came to cultivation.

Apart from reading contemporary novels in his spare time, Tolly was training for nothing. He was thin and weak, unable to toil himself in difficult jobs. All he could do was sweep the floor, water flowers, or run errands in the Duke’s Mansion.

Since he was picked up by Lord Fanta and of almost the same age as Miss Smith, he would occasionally get more care from Lord Fanta, such as getting some extra money as a bonus at the end of a year or being assigned to do some light work. If one could say that Tolly had any merit, it would be that he was quite good at reading people’s minds. And this pleased Lord Fanta a lot, who thus liked him and had a good impression on him.

As a result, Lord Fanta had the intention of sending him to Fanta Academy for further study, partly as a reading partner for Miss Smith, and partly as a guard to protect her if necessary. However, Tolly was obviously not up to the task because of his horrible cultivation, so the matter was still up in the air.

Nevertheless, all these irritated Joseph Johnson, a shrewd, capable young servant in the house. He was not only doing his job as a servant very well but worked as a guard in the house as well.

When hearing that Lord Fanta was planning to send a servant to Fanta Academy to further his studies and to accompany and protect Miss Smith at the same time, Joseph felt that he would be the best candidate for the assignment.

But how could he have expected that the Tolly, a horrible jackass in his eyes, would act as his stumbling block? He told himself that he had to take the initiative to deal with it. Otherwise, he would not be Joseph Johnson.

“You little bastard, Tolly! Don’t you dare disobey Luna!” Joseph raged.

He took a big step forward and a wave of powerful pressure came at Tolly, who instantly felt a pang of panic. Joseph Johnson suddenly raised his hands, threatening Tolly to obey Luna by kneeling down.

Tolly didn’t give a damn about it. What had piqued his interest at that moment was the name Luna he had just heard. He said to the girl in purple with a hint of excitement,

“Is your name Luna? What a coincidence! I used to know a tattoo artist also called Luna.”

“Are you dense in the head, Tolly? It looks like you’ve been struck to madness by lightning. You’ve even forgotten my name!” The girl in purple glared at him in surprise.

“Yeah, Luna. Lightning served him right. He is such a fool now!” Joseph said coldly, adding fuel to the oil. Deep down, he was furious when he saw Tolly had just been flirting with Miss Smith’s personal maidservant Luna.

“So, your name should be Jenny, right?” Tolly asked curiously as he turned to look at Miss Smith smilingly.

“Look, Miss, how rude Tolly is! He’s just cruising for a bruising. No one has ever dared to call you Jenny. It’s simply a privilege for your family! Let me teach him a lesson for you!”

When Joseph was about to step forward and slap him in the face, a calm sweet voice came out,

“He’s probably hurt. Take him back to the Mansion first!“

“Well, Jenny is always kind to me! Thank you!” Tolly said with a smile, staring straight into her eyes.

He then turned to Joseph and gave him a hard look, saying,

“You know, Joseph, some people are just like dogs. They bite and act fierce only when their masters are present. I think you know what I mean.”

Joseph turned livid with rage, but he did not reply. Instead, he let out a cold harrumph and had a wry smile on his face.
