Chapter 4 Kidnapping

Berlin who heard the voice immediately looked up. And after he managed to see the figure more clearly, Berlin felt even more annoyed. "Why is it only showing up now?" he asked sharply.

The figure is none other than the spirit of Heilige Potsdam or Jo who is a friend of Cologne who has passed away.

"Hahaha... you look so frustrated just talking to him." Jo couldn't help but laugh when he found Berlin looking so frustrated just to face his best friend.

"Damn you!" cursed Berlin.

Jo stopped laughing and looked at Berlin with his trademark sad look. "You, can you keep your promise to look after Cologne?" he asked in a small voice. Of course he knows this is a bad choice when entrusting your best friend to a demon.

Berlin snorted, then said this to Jo, "I don't know if you can't trust or hope in the devil. Rather than keep promising to take care of your weird friend. I really really want to collect what you owe me!" he said he couldn't be sure.

Jo was silent for a moment and then replied like this, "Yes, I'm sure, you will get what you want later," he replied, after which he just disappeared.

Having received this unsatisfactory answer and being left alone, Berlin was really annoyed and in the end the demon just grumbled alone to the air around him.

"FUCKING SPIRIT! YOU DON'T KNOW WHO YOU'RE DEALING WITH! I AM A SPECIAL DEVIL! AAAARRRGHHH!" the noise is not clear.

The demon did not realize that his actions succeeded in making night creatures such as owls and bats laugh in silence.

Next morning

BRING BRING BRING

Cologne's smartphone vibrated and signaled an incoming call there.

"Tsk, why does it have to be so early?" he chuckles annoyed. The young man was forced to pick up the incoming call from his smart phone.

"Hello?"

"Colegne?" A voice on the other end called his name.

Cologne snorted, "Tsk. Yes, quickly say something!" The young man was getting impatient.

"Oh thank goodness it's you. I thought you had hanged yourself and would never be able to receive any more calls from the office," said the voice on the other end with a relieved tone of voice.

What the hell! Did the office people think he was dead since taking a leave of absence six months ago? Cologne really almost wants to slam his smartphone at this point.

"Yes, you are talking to a human who is still alive but has lost his direction in life right now. So quickly tell me what you need!" cerocos Cologne is impatient.

"Relax mate, I'm just too happy because I haven't heard that voice of yours in a long time."

"Whatever, quickly tell me what you need!" asked Cologne growing impatient.

"Yes… yes… please calm down a bit. Cologne since your leave is over. Can you take your job back? I think you have one case you need to work on…. ' said the voice on the other end.

It seemed Cologne had no interest in taking the job back. Whereas lately he plans to leave his office and choose another job that is not related to the criminal world. I don't know if this is due to the effects of the trauma he got after Jo's death or because he just wasn't interested in working in this kind of field.

"Are you sure, I can solve this case well?" asked Cologne doubtfully at the voice on the other end.

"Huh? Why should you hesitate? You and Jo are the best detective pair in the current batch. So I don't have to hesitate when I give you an assignment," answered the voice on the other end lightly.

Cologne was eager to get back to talking incoherently when he heard his name and his late friend's exaggeration again.

"You don't seem familiar with the terms mental stress and trauma, do you?" Cologne quipped sarcastically.

And sure enough, after saying that, the voice on the other end immediately realized that he had brought up the wound that his interlocutor still had.

"Sorry… I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable," he complained in a low voice.

Hearing his interlocutor speaking like that made Cologne want to take the opportunity to refuse the task given to him. But unfortunately the opposite happened. Suddenly his mouth moved and uttered the words he didn't want to say at all.

"It doesn't matter. Let me take back the task. Besides, I haven't worked in a long time and I feel like I'm starting to miss my job again," Cologne said out of control.

"Ah really… well those are optimistic words I'd been hoping to hear all along. Then hurry to the office and I'll be happy to explain the case you have to handle. All right, see you at the Cologne office." After that the call just turned off.

Cologne gaped in disbelief that his mouth could say something like that so lightly.

"Well, those should be the words you spoke from the start. Don't be pessimistic. Then you look more like a slow loris," mocked Berlin, who was now standing right in front of Cologne's face.

Cologne threw his smartphone at Berlin and gave him a look that looked like he was defiant.

"So you made me talk like that just now?!" he growled.

"Of course stupid. Can your mouth speak sweet words without great help from me?" Berlin openly admits his actions. And it's true that Berlin had taken over Cologne's speaking ability that's why Cologne couldn't control his own words.

"Cunning. Sneaky bastard!" Cologne looked like he wanted to strangle Berlin even though the young man knew he could never do that.

"Oh. I will not accept your words. And shouldn't you hurry up and get ready to go to the office?" Berlin glanced at the clock on the wall to confirm the current time.

Cologne folded his arms and immediately sat down in a cross-legged position and said like this in a loud voice, "I WILL NEVER GO TO THE OFFICE AT ALL! YOU CAN'T FORCE ME!" Cologne acted exactly like a sulking child.

"Ah, Mister Cologne this is not the time to sulk like a child, you must still go to the office," Berlin said casually.

Cologne looked down at Berlin. "What can you do?" he challenged.

Berlin laughed then snapped his fingers twice and made Cologne's previously disheveled look look much more presentable.

"Hah?!" Cologne was surprised to find that his baggy clothes had now turned into a neat shirt and coat and very slick looking black cloth pants.

"Don't gape. And are you sure you're still in that ridiculous pose?" Berlin glanced sharply at Cologne.

Cologne wanted to protest but he immediately realized that right now he was seeing as many crowds of people as in an office in general.

What is this? Cologne screamed in his heart. The young man was afraid that Berlin had actually sent himself into the office by now.
