Restraints of having a soul

Though Rafael was regarded amongst the few serious students, he had another reason for wanting to research on the topic asides the fact that it was an assignment by their homeroom teacher. At least for that moment, he knew that nourishing his soul was impossible but it was possible to help his buddies grow and then grow by their influence.

Even though his food and other benefits might remain the same, no one would object if they decide to take him out of his ugly room with leaking roofs or even give him a portion of their meal in appreciation. The thought of this almost made him drool over the little but well decorated book before him.

Many books in the library were written by the celestials and their direct students even before the invasion and their scope circled around soul nourishment as a weapon for self improvement and human freedom.

Looking around the library and noting the countless books authored by celestials and their direct students one would think that they were countless as to have written several books but to few these attests to their omnipotent nature because infact, the known celestials were indeed very few and they rarely see worthiness in men as to pick them up as their direct students thus they did not have many direct students.

Rafael was engrossed in a book written by a celestial's direct student who he had heard Gregor make reference to severally he was highly regarded amongst other of his class. Few people knew if his name but he was popularly called the Philosophical 'Ralos' and this he often pebs down as the author of his book.

"Since humans are selfish creatures, it is impossible to gather soul energy for someone else because behind their will to give what they have obtained from nature, lies a certain degree of reluctance.

Nature in it's generosity harkens to the plea of a selfish, yearning soul and grants it food to grow this gift cannot be shared with another." A certain page of the book which caught Rafael's attention read.

"Does this mean I can give another person spiritual energy when I gather it for him and I wish to give it to him with my whole mind? If it is so then it is easy since it is useless to me and I can gather a lot. I hope this works." Rafael thought in realization.

Someone stopped before his table and knocked on it gently. "Hi have you found an answer to our homeroom teacher's assignment?" Her nervous voice which sounded a bit familiar sounded in inquisition.

"Yeah." Replied Rafael who had a slight frown which indicated that he didn't expect this and that he was yet to remember who she was though she looked very familiar.

"I am..."

"Erica." Rafael cut in. He remembered her name exactly when she was about to mention it.

"Yeah you didn't forget."

"Why will I when we are in the same class?" Rafael questioned with a smile.

She was one of the weak beauties in distress whom Rafael rescued from bullies in their first year. But now she was ranked very much higher than the was.

In response to her question Rafael explained to her in details what he had discovered purposely making their meeting to last; it has been a while since any girl agreed to come closer to him and he was obviously tired of that.

In truth, Erica was amongst the many who were rarely bothered by the lessons she only wanted to get closer to her old time defender and relay him when need be.

"You know in the first year, I admired you and enjoyed watching you best those pervs who bothered me up." She reminded with a smile which triggered same from Rafael. "Do you know what the problem is now?" She asked him.

"Will you promise to keep it a secret if I tell you?"

"Yeah I will and try to help you if I can." She replied with sincerity.

"I don't think I have a soul in me." He told her in a hushed voice.

Erica knowing how serious Rafael is with improving himself was sure she was not the person to advise him on how best to nourish his soul. She understands that if he had told her the truth then that is the fact.

But this is surely a devastating fact. It means that unlike many others he could not grow stronger than the typical man before the invasion and will live a short life like they do he sure needs to be comforted.

"Maybe you should see the bright side of it. You are not held by the restraints if having a soul like everyone else." She tried her best to sound like a comforter.

"Restraints of having a soul? What are they." Rafael wondered aloud.

"That I don't know." Replied Erica with an uneasy forced chuckle. "But maybe they exist but will be discovered some day."

"Okay thanks." Rafael appreciated while she walked away.

Rafael trailed her admiringly with his eyes but came off it. It might have been possible in the past to get her but now, she was far fetched.

When Rafael stood up to go, he shook his head in sadness remembering he would have no lunch. Jerry would suffer worse fate because in addition to that he would have no dinner. "I really need to get higher in rank soon to feed properly." He muttered.

"Hey lasty it's been a while since you paid your dues." Someone ahead of him told him. It was the second in command in Bonny's gang beside him were the rest except Bonny.

"But Jerry pays it for me." He protested.

Jerry was the only son of a middle class family who still lived outside the Glabour he was often sent credits by his parents making it easy for him to pay Bonny's gang every night.

"Yeah but he is different from you. Hand your dues over or you will taste my full strength."

"This is bad Rafael noted." Eve!n when Bonny beat him up he was certain he did not use his full strength and yet that was bad. This would break every bone in his body and that is devastating
