Chapter 6

The manager left the office and he made a call, a man told him to make some troubles to Daniel and force him to leave.The manager promised. 

*Phone call between the manager and the man who wanted Daniel to leave the company*

" Hi ! I have some news for you." The manager said.

" What ? " the man asked.

" Daniel the guy who was supposed to come, came today and currently he is already installed in our office. He is as you described to me, that is to say young, handsome, smart, and very intelligent" the manager said.

" Okay ! You know what you have to do now right?" The man asked .

"Yes, I know what I have to do. I just want to make sure that everything works out as you planned." The manager said.

"Everything will be as expected and you will be rewarded for your efforts!" the man assured him.

"Okay!" The manager said happily.

" I will do whatever it takes! I will make him leave, no matter what! I even already have my little idea on how to get him out of the company." The manager said to the man

"Good! Then do it and make sure you do it perfectly! "the man replied.

" I promise" the manager said. "I'll give you feedback after some time!"  

"Ok I'll be waiting for your call" the man said then hung up.

On the other hand, the hencher was talking to Daniel.

"Daniel, I know you are here because of someone's order" the hencher said.

" Yes I am" he responded.

Where was the director was going with that?

" Know that if you do not work well, you will be fired " the hencher said with a vicious Smile.

Daniel didn't replied , so he repeated " do you understand?"

" Yes i understand! " Daniel said smiling, it seems to be interesting now.

"Good! Now I have a work for you! " He said to Daniel.

He turned and asked an employee to go and call a certain Lisa. Then he said to Daniel" sit down and wait please" .

 After a few minutes, the girl in question entered the hencher's office it was an intern here ,she was a beautiful girl , A Brunette, short hair with glasses, she was dressed quite modestly, a long black skirt and a flowered shirt it was a girl who had just graduated from college. She seemed to be very shy .

"hello sir!" She said timidly At the door entrance.

"morning! Come in! I have a job for you Lisa" the hencher asked her to enter, what she did. 

When she heard the word " work", she sketched a face. But why ?

" Sit down Miss Lisa!" He told her to sit down. She sat down on a chair opposite hers and to the left of Daniel's. Once seated, the hencher resumed "I said earlier that I have a mission for you two ... " He stopped talking then stared at them Proof that what he was about to tell them was important and very serious.

Richard and Lisa both looked at each other anxiously.

" Your mission is to get a contract From empire State building company" he dropped like a bomb.

Boooom! The bomb exploded

Lisa was shocked, Her pretty face crumbled ,she was about to ask why this mission was distributed to them, but the director left quickly proud of him.

At first, the girl thought the hencher was joking. The company's reputation was very good. It was impossible for them to get a deal with that company

 Before leaving, the Director gave them a list of the president of empire State building company's personal information (email, phone number, address, birthday and so on). And at the end ,the Hencher ordered them to get the contract from the company.

Daniel did not understand the reason for her shock, so he asked her curiously, " what happen?" 

Lisa was still in shock, Daniel noticed, he shook her slightly and waved his hand in front of her eyes for her to notice him , he said "Hey". 

She jumped "sorry I was confused, what do you said?"  

" What happen? Why are you shocked?" He ask again.

She replied" the Empire State building company is the biggest company in the city. You don't know?" Daniel shook his head no, she continued ," We have tried ten of times to get contract from them but everyone has failed including the manager and the director" 

At the end of his story, Daniel was surprised.

 Why was he asking them that? It was kind of an impossible mission, wasn't it?

"Why do you need such a thing?" Daniel asked to Lisa.

Lisa Think for a moment then say" I think the director just force us to leave.That's the only explanation." She said intrigued.

"But why does he want us to leave?" He asked perplexed. " He doesn't love you?” He asked her.

Lisa was surprised by his question. 

Didn't the director like her? 

" I don't know , I'm new here and i'm An intern here , I can just tell you that all the hard work is done by me." She said . " And you ? He don't like you ? Do you know him? What are you doing here?" She asked him.

Her question ticked in his head, and suddenly everything clicked together. He remembered the look exchanged between the manager and the director during his presentation and what the manager had said to the director Namely "take care of him". So that was what he meant. 

He smiled and said to Lisa" If he wants to see me go, then he will have to pay me a lot of money!" 

"What?" She said surprised.

"Money" he told her.

The girl was astonished by his answer, but he didn't hear her because he was thinking.

"Do you believe in luck?" He asked her.

"of course ! Who doesn't?" she answered.

"Then you should believe in it because I am lucky! We are going to have this contract" He told her.

Lisa laughed "you're crazy! " She said.

"No! We are going to have this contract" he insisted.

He smiled at her and winked, she laughed harder.

"So you are really crazy!" she said laughing.

After leaving the company premises, the hencher called the manager.

*Phone call between the hencher and the manager*

"How is it going?" The manager asked.

"Fine!" the hencher said.

"so soon he will no longer be part of our company?" the manager asked.

"yes, he will no longer be working here" the hencher said.

"Good" the manager said satisfied.

Daniel kept questioning himself what was happening? How could he win a deal with a company like that?

This company was big and had lots of resources. But why would they give him a deal? Was it possible?

Daniel decided to call the Lord Wilson. 

" Hi Lord! " Daniel said when he heard the voice of the lord.

"Daniel, how is it going? Were you well received at the company? " The lord asked.

"Lord Wilson, I was welcomed very well. Thank you very much Lord. How are you?"

"i'm very well thanks to you. The man who owns the company is very interested in the product that you are offering. " 

Indeed, the lord was not aware that the director and the hencher want to drive him out of the company.

"Thank God" Daniel said. He didn't want to let him know, so as not to worry him.

" Okay ! See you later then!" the lord said.

And after saying goodbye, Daniel ended the conversation.

"Lunch break! " Lisa said with joy.

They were going to meet outside the office.

She arrived first, she saw Daniel waiting for her, and she was happy because it had been a while since the last time they met outside the office.

"Hi!" She greeted him.

As Daniel approached her, he saw her smiling and she looked very beautiful.

Daniel thought she was more beautiful than ever before . "Hello" he greeted and after a moment of silence, he spoke again "what are we having for lunch? " He asked.

"A burger! " Lisa said excited.

"Good! " Daniel said.

There was a small restaurant next to the building where they worked, Lisa went there alone because the place was close.

They sat on a table in front of the restaurant, and Lisa ordered two burgers and two large fries. When the food was ready, they ate their lunch and talked about this and that.

Daniel was happy to be with her, she was always kind and sweet with him. She was no longer the shy girl he had seen yesterday.

After eating, they left the restaurant and returned to the office.

Once back at the office, Lisa started working and Daniel took out his notebook and began to write. they now worked in the same office.

The hencher walked into their office

"Daniel! Lisa!" the hencher said and Lisa immediately stood up.

" How are you doing with the task I gave you?" He asked them.

" We're working on it" Lisa said.

"well I need to talk with both of you" he said

"What happened?" Lisa asked surprised.

" I want you to get the contract with Empire State Building before the end of this month, if you don't succeed..." 

He left his sentence hanging, anyway, they understood what he meant.

"I'll try my best" Lisa said.

"Good! " the hencher said.

"We will do our best" Daniel said, they both smiled at each other.

"Now get your jobs done! " He ordered them.
