Ferenzi city

Ferenzi city was located deep in the Dark Forest. stretching to almost 5 thousand square kilometers, governed by four ancient families and the merchant association.

These families were very mysterious and had no competition because anyone who offended them would not exist the other day. They would not live long enough to regret it.

Just the other day, a small kingdom offended the tian family in some way. the next day, the whole kingdom was in ruins. no matter whether the royal family, nobles or commoners. no one was allowed to live. They acted As if they were Gods who can't even be disrespected.

But even so, They mostly only competed against each other and usually did not bother anyone. If no one got in their way or happens to be on their path. Then they wouldn't bother anyone.

Only the merchant association had some influence in the city but even they mostly obeyed the four families having a harmonious relationship with them. The reason a merchant association could exist in the middle of a chaotic environment like that was unknown.

The nearby Emperors and Kings did not influence Ferenzi city. Or rather they couldn't.

Alex was floating near Ferenzi city. it was close to where he was and he saw it from a distance. Situated in the middle of a gigantic forest like an enormous beast sleeping in the dark.

But instead of going inside he first checked the situation of the city. A considerable amount of portals was floating all over the city, some were the same size as the goblin dungeon but there were others too. With a size much larger as compared to a D-ranked dungeon.

they were enormous about the size of a small Ferris wheel. It was terrifying to assess the kind of creature that would come out of it.

"But size doesn't matter, as some dungeons are small but have a very destructive and frightening sensation coming from them. Making one's heart tremble In dread.

"Other dungeons give me the feeling that I can die if I enter or even if I am not careful around it."

"And I have this feeling that if I enter that dungeon then there is no need to hope for survival and it is certain death."

Alex mumbled while looking at a dark-colored portal that had the scenery of a graveyard. there was a dreadful purplish-black brilliance and a dark haze that gave the sensation that you will get lost for eternity if you enter inside it.

There were some groups of people around it in a group of 3 and 5. All the dungeons had some people but they only had one group. While this one had multiple of them. and it seemed that they were debating who would occupy this treasure trove of resources a.k.a dungeon.

Because what caused the others to fear and despair was an opportunity for the strong. An opportunity for them to ascend.

Yes, they could work together to fight against the invaders but who will have all the resources like skill books and cores inside?

'Resources' caused many different wars, no matter the place. When the ratio between resources and the mouths to feed becomes unstable. initiate a war. that is the reality. and that is the mindset of these so-called kings and Emperors. And the ancient families and the other cultivators were not any different.

They all had the same mentality of killing or being killed and would do anything to get stronger. Because everyone had pursuits.

People fight for resources and it's the same if not even more brutal in this world. the merchants and the four families were discussing how to gain more resources and the most beneficial way to distribute them. while the commoners were shaking in fear while looking at the big dungeon gates floating vertically above their heads. Like a ticking time bomb ready to explode at any moment.

"It's the difference in attitude, what is life-threatening and dangerous for them is an opportunity for the ones presiding over them."

"It does concern me now but not for long, and. I may be a part of this game. But soon I will be the one looking at the struggles and pursuits of these people and be amused by it."

He said and let out a diabolical smile that covered his complexion and a bright brilliance appeared in his dark eyes. His demeanor changed again at this moment without him noticing anything like it was natural but the reason behind his constantly changing personality was a mystery.

Without interrupting them, he headed towards the city. And after asking for directions, he reached the merchant association. But the sight of the exterior, as well as the interior stumped him for a moment as he spoke out

"It seems to be a tradition,"

he said while looking at the same scene he saw in the grim bow kingdom. Without any change in its setting.

Benches on the left with waitresses serving the hunters seated on them. With the mission board and the reception on the right with a middle-aged woman in front of the reception.

It used to be a bustling sight but the atmosphere was grave because of the invasion and the hunters were seriously discussing instead of partying and drinking wine.

On the right, there was a mission board filled with all kinds of missions. from collecting a certain herb to going on an expedition, there were also missions related to dungeons. like going into the graveyard dungeon. this mission was only for S-Ranks and higher. there was a table with a staff sitting on a chair that would assign missions and give rewards.

"Interestingly, only S-Ranks and higher can enter inside, I wonder what is after the S-Rank."

He looked around for a moment as he said with interest. Looking straight, I there was the reception counter and a lady was standing behind it with a professional smile.

He went there and told her that he wanted to update his rank. the lady asked for his card and took him to a backroom from the right side of the counter.

"It's nearly the same. But Of course, now I have both of my arms." He said and followed behind the lady everything was the same. the corridor and even the room looked the same.

The lady turned and looked at him looking at everything with wonder, the lady smiled and asked him, "Is this your first time coming to the merchant association in another city?"

"Yes, it is," Alex replied with a bright smile.

"Then you should get used to this, all the merchant association branches wherever it is will look the same,"

the lady said smiling and looking proud about the fact that she worked in a place like this.

"Why?" Alex asked incredulously. what reason would there be for all the branches to have the same setting, he got his answer very quickly and it was a simple one.

"It's the owner, he wants it to be like this." She said still walking without looking back.

"Who's the owner?" Alex asked because he thought this person was interesting and he wanted to know what kind of person it was.

"I don't know," she said while giggling a little and then skipped ahead and said. "we're here."

As he thought that she didn't want to answer, he didn't press more on this topic and kept walking. Maybe it was a secret.

She pushed the white door open, it was a white-tiled room. he entered and there were machines all around with a middle-aged man sitting at the center while looking at the two walking inside.

"This mister wants to update his rank," she said pointing at Alex.

The middle-aged man looked at him deeply and asked, "Mana, Strength or Health?"

The lady said awkwardly, "He doesn't talk much, and because of the system, he is using those terms. he is asking if you are a Mage, Warrior, or Tank. meaning what is your specialty,"

Alex nodded and thought about telekinesis then he said, "I don't mind, I am a mage,"

The middle-aged man nodded and stood up, he walked to a particular device that looked like a single steel stand with a ball on it and there was only a single blue orb with a screen attached to it.

"Inject your mana."

Alex walked forward and placed his hands on the orb and willed his mana to move. mana moved out of his hands and went inside the orb.

The orb lit up a bright color and B-rank immediately appeared on the screen.

The middle-aged man turned to look at the result and looked rather unimpressed. he looked at Alex and asked, "Special ability?"

The lady chided in saying, "Sir, Special abilities are too rare, you should not keep asking the same question over—

The lady was interrupted as Alex lightly said, "Telekinesis."

The lady turned to him, startled, and questioned again, "what…What?"

The eyes of the middle-aged man illuminated a little and the corner of his lips twisted a little as he exclaimed, "Good!"

And then continued, "Special abilities are rare but those who have them are all above the masses and are elites. you are in that category and you should have more opportunities than the others. there is a great opportunity right on the horizon."

The lady at the side was shocked because of Alex first. then she was shocked because by the information she received. It was very rare for someone to get a special ability because they were very overpowered. And also because of the middle-aged man as she hadn't seen him talk this much before.

Alex looked unbothered and asked, "What opportunity?"

The middle-aged man responded shortly, "Graveyard dungeon."

Alex was surprised to hear that because only S-Ranked cultivators were recruited for the expedition in the dungeons.

As if he guessed what Alex was thinking he said again, "Normally, S-Ranks are the only ones who would enter but you have a special ability so you are equivalent to S-Ranking in your battle power"

Alex was not convinced and said hesitatingly, "So, you are saying that I am as strong as an S-Ranked cultivator?"

The middle-aged man smiled knowingly before he told after a moment"From the F to S-Rank. they are considered mortals, and only when someone progresses ahead will he be considered a true cultivator."

Alex was shocked and couldn't accept this for a moment because he heard someone say that he was not even considered a true cultivator. This information was too shocking because S-ranked cultivators were already very strong.

"So, having a special ability makes you an elite mortal and equivalent to S-Rank. so tell me what do you think? I can also tell you the method to advance in your cultivation."

The middle-aged man told him about this because he wanted to recruit him and so he considered letting out this information that was not a secret. This information was only valuable to someone who didn't know it before.

After hearing this piece of information he understood It was Dangerous but he was tempted because of the method to advance as he didn't know how he could become stronger after the S-Rank.

So, without too much thought he said, "Okay, I will go."

"You can come the day after tomorrow at the same place and time." Said the middle-aged man.

"Okay," uttered Alex and after registering and taking his id. he came out of the merchant association.
