CHAPTER 9

Everyone seems happy about buying what they want. For the first time, we don’t need to worry when buying since we’ve collected a lot of money for this trip even we didn’t reach the El Dorado yet.

After shopping, we returned to the ship.

“Are you ready guys for the long journey?” Captain Axle asked.

“Aye, Aye, Captain!” Britney replied.

“How long does this trip will take?” Laine asked.

“Approximately up to 20 days” the captain answered that make everyone shocked.

“Really?” Joy questioned unbelievably.

“Yes, but since we’re carrying a lot of parcels, we need to reach Colombia within 7-8 days. The other crews will use the super speed of the ship so we can’t get there as soon as possible” He replied and everyone sighed deeply.

“Let’s start this journey!!!” Captain Axle screamed and everyone became energetic.

Britney’s Point of View

10 days after...

This journey is not unpredictable. Imagine, we’re in the ship with no one to do. Even surfing the net, we can’t do since our sim card is still from the Philippines.

We indulge ourselves during the traveling period. Imagine within ten days, we make ourselves entertained.

But it’s now the time to have fun in the ground. I miss the terrain! We get out of the ship immediately as we reached the Tumaco Port.

We have reached Colombia safe and sound! Hooogh! I survived on that journey!

“I miss the city, the ground and everything!” Charlie said as he landed his feet in the ground.

“So, this is our last stop. Thank you everyone for making this journey significant. I hope this is not our last time seeing each other. Good luck with your mission and adventure! We need to deliver the parcels to the couriers and our last stop is the Spain” Captain Axle said that makes everyone sad. I was attached to him. He’s a good and passionate man full of dedication and determination. I hope I could find someone like him soon.

“Thank you, Axle, for letting us go with you here. We owe you so much!” Jun said and they hugged each other.

“Until next time?” Captain Axle asked.

“Sure” we responded and they started to depart. The crewmates are waving their hands on us. I feel sad because of it!

“Welcome to Colombia!” Kyle read the banner. We saw different races of people here. Some of them looked American. But mostly were Latinos.

“Are you ready guys to find the El Dorado?” Jun asked and everyone got excited. He brings out the map of El Dorado and examined its part.

“Do you think that’s accurate?” I asked while looking on the map.

“I think so” he replied.

“So, we need to go to San Jacinto. Some people sell and renting boats there” Jun said to us.

“what will be our transportation to there?” Kaye asked.

“We can take a cab but for us to save a penny, let’s rent a van,” He said.

“Let’s go!” Simon said and everyone starts walking to look for a van. The travel time is too long. It can take up to 1-2 days since it’s a province place here. We don’t have any stock foods anymore since we ate all of it during our 10 days of traveling. Before leaving the place, we bought snacks and meals that will sustain us for one day.

We have now rented a van. It costs almost 20,000 pesos in Peso currency. We don’t have any choice but to go with it.

We entered the van. Jun and Simon are in front beside the driver. Kaye and Kyle are in the first row of the seat. Laine, Joy, and Minmin are in the second, Charlie and I are in the last row. I would like to exchange seats with Minmin but Charlie pushes me in the window side. Argh! He has more space on his side but he’s wedging me. It feels crowded.

“Can you please give me some space to breathe?” I said annoyingly.

“I don’t want to let you go,” He said while he’s eyes are closed.

“H-huh?” I asked confusingly. He didn’t answer my question and he put his head on my shoulder.

The other day...

We reached San Jacinto. It’s a forest that’s why the rate is so expensive. We get out of the van and stretched our bodies.

“Hooogh! It feels great!” I said while stretching.

“It feels great to sleep with someone you love” I heard Charlie murmured but I didn’t understand is since his voice is too deep.

“What did you say?” I asked interrogatory

“M-me? No, I did not speak” He said. Am I hallucinating???

“Okay, guys we need to walk for half an hour. Our boat is waiting for us” Jun said.

“What? You rented a boat immediately?” I asked in shock.

“Yes. What’s the matter?”

“N-no. You’re so fast” I answered. We began walking. While walking, I feel something strange around.

The wind approaches us as we get near to our destination. It’s weird because the air is cold while the weather is so hot.

“I know it’s there~”

“Did you hear that, guys?” I asked my friends as I heard someone singing.

“What?” Jun asked and they looked at me.

“I heard someone is singing. Saying ‘I know it’s there’”

“Is anyone singing?” Simon asked but no one responded.

“You’re just hallucinating due to the coffees you drank last night,” Jun said while laughing and they continued walking again.

“What’s happening to you?” Charlie asked.

“No. Maybe I’m just hallucinating” I replied. Speaking of last night, I remember my dream. I dreamed about a dazzling city full of golds. It always vanishes before we get there. Is this the sign that El Dorado is still existing?

“Britney!” I came back to reality when Charlie called my name. I started walking and we have reached the place where the boat is located. The boat is a modern type and it looks expensive. It is similar to a yacht.

A person gave a key to Jun and they do handshake. After it, we get into the boat.

“Let’s sail, everyone!” Jun said and started the engine of the boat.
