Arran was finally alone with Vice Dean Hubert. Velar and the other Gullans had left after dropping them off at an independent building used to receive important guests from above, not before Velar left, a reminder for Arran to call him whenever he needed something.

As soon as they were alone, Vice Dean Hubert finally turned to Arran and said to him seriously.

“Alright, now we can talk. I’m sure you have a lot of questions, Prince Arran, so you can ask them now, and I’ll do my best to answer.”

Immediately, Arran perked up and asked the most urgent question he had wanted to ask since he arrived.

“What was all that about back there? I feel like I stepped into a minefield outside and would end up blown up with a single wrong move. Explain it to me.”

“Oh, that! Indeed, you do need to understand a few things before I can explain the rest.”

“First of all, what do you think of the Gullans? Or rather, how do you see their relationship with the Aeth?”
