hidden agenda

Chapter: *Hidden* *Agenda*

Royal prince Seyi stroked his chin thoughtfully.

"The Royal capitol will help you investigate and quell some of your troubles, this is you having our backing openly but the only catch is, we get 10% more resources shipped into our kingdom" Seyi gazed at the President with a smile.

The President's facial muscles twitched uncontrollably, as if he's about to burst but he managed to suppress it and took a deep breath.

'Hmph. You bunch of scoundrels, exploiting me in my moment of weakness, if not because of Sapa Nation is significantly divided, your royal capitol wouldn't even be qualified to have a trade deal with us'.

The president gritted his teeth.

"Deal!" The President managed to say.

Royal Prince Seyi naturally knew what he was thinking but he merely smiled. Afterall, they were all adept schemers and taking advantage of another is the most appropriate thing to do in this situation, it's a dog eat dog world. Only the strongest gets to make a decision, the weak might as well just roll over and die.

Seyi nodded in agreement.

"The Royal capitol will openly declare our support for your rule and pin some of your messes on some aristocrats. As for this Lasso family, it seems, it's a big player in this revolution, how do you plan on handling this?" Seyi shook his head lightly.

"The Lasso family? Hahahaha, been looking for a way to silence that family for a while now and now, they have presented themselves to me. You're looking for someone to pin some corruption and blames on? The Lasso family is a perfect candidate." The President's eyes narrowed in a menacing slit.

"Alright. Till we meet next time. Hope everything goes smoothly" Seyi waved and his body shone with bright light before scattering into several motes of light that dies out shortly after.

It was quite obvious, he hadn't come with his real body but a sort of projection of his conscience taking manifestation.

The president looked at the scattered motes of light and stood in silence, his expression was surprisingly indifferent, he casually waved his hand and the mysterious space shattered.

Revealing his office, he placed his hand behind his back and looked through the window in perfect silence, his thoughts weren't known but whatever, it was, it could decide the future of the Sapa Nation.

........

The next day. In Obsong Town.

Parker stood up from his hospital bed, he looked so sick and fray, that one might think, he could die anytime or even a gentle breeze could blow him away.

Parker's skin was deathly pale and his eyes sunken, creating a dark hallow around his eyes. A strong deathly aura emanated from his body.

A figure with a head full of long silver and soft hair sat across him.

The man's eyes were filled with wisdom and while, he looked young, he had a great aura. He wore a yielding gown very peculiarly similar to those scholars and had a mysterious golden decorative motif on his chest. Powerful magical force twined around his body, giving him a menacing aura and bearing. Evidently, the head doctor was a powerful surprising Silver ranker.

"Checking your vitals and damaged organs, it's surprising, you can even stand up from that bed. I'm afraid, even your cultivation base had suffered major damages and would need more time to restore. As for your body? I recommend you stay a few more weeks before you can leave. Your friends are still in deep coma, so you can wait a bit if you want" The head doctor spoke unhurriedly, a slight smile on his face.

Parker nodded his head in agreement, even without the doctor telling him this, he already knew this much after observing his body conditions for days.

Naturally, he understood the reason for Sharon and Roy's coma, they had taken serious injuries even before entering the spatial tunnel and then the resulting blasts and forceful expulsion of the spatial tunnel was just too much for their body to handle.

'It seems, I can only use about 30% of my cultivation base and this is a yellow ranker. Considering the undulations coming from the head doctor, I don't stand a chance if he decides to kill me. Well, it seems no news had reach here, if not, I would have long died'.

Parker silently evaluated his condition and caressed the necklace hanging on his neck loosely.

It's light had significantly dimmed and it lacked lustre, it was evident, he had exhausted the stored energy in it after it had saved him multiple times.

Parker laid on the bed and closed his eyes, a wave of relaxation washed over his body, it had been a very long since he had good rest and less worries.

Five days passed in a flash.

Several waves of news had caused catastrophic and new development in the Sapa Nation but this Obsong Town naturally haven't heard of this, even most of the former news hadn't even reach here.

*Crackle! Crackle!* The bright flames burning in the exquisite fireplace licked at the top-quality pinewood and it exuded a fragrant scent. A warm flow of air circulated around a rather spacious room, sharply contrasting the cold darkness of the world outside of it.

A long wooden table stood unassumingly in the centre of the room, a white tablecloth draped over it. On it were silver lamps and precious china, all laid out carefully by maids with beautiful figures and exquisite shapes.

This china was exceptionally glossy. All the tableware was luxury goods, imported from another country and even more smooth than a newborn's skin. Decorated with extremely elaborated flora motifs, they were simply high-quality pieces of art and brimmed with the perfectionist of the other country.

A black door of light appeared from a cupboard and was pulled open. A middle aged man wearing a swallow-tailed coat and a hat slowly walked out with a walking stick in hand. The man wore a pair of golden spectacles with round lenses, a complicated and intricate chain linking to them from behind his ears.

"Nice to meet you. This humble servant is called Ignox" The man who came forward took off his hat and bowed elegantly to a long silver headed man sitting on a chair around the wooden table.

"Have you investigated their backgrounds?" The silver headed man was naturally the head doctor.

"Yes master. They're Sharon Madison, Parker Lasso and Roy Kent. They're wanted as terrorist of the highest order and must be killed at sight" The man spoke respectfully.
