Chapter 10 : Announcement from the Palace

Everyone covered their ears due to the loud noise that came so suddenly. The sound of a trumpet was shouted loudly from a distance three times. When it was over, those on the field looked at each other.

"The royal horn," murmured Master Jael. He coughed for a moment as he loosened his tie. "Children, please pay attention for a moment." To attract attention, Master Jael clapped his hands three times.

Darren knew that the sound of the horn just now came from the palace of the full moon of darkness, the sound was familiar. If the palace had sounded the horn, it meant that important information was about to be released by King Edward, the leader of the Crimson Country.

"You heard the trumpet sound yourselves, didn't you?"

"We heard it, master!" replied all the students, in unison, their voices coming together to form a loud shout.

"The horn signaled that King Edward, aka the Ice King, aka the King of Us All, was about to make an important announcement. Well, you must already know." Master Jael folded his arms. "And what will King Edward announce? I obviously don't know either."

"What do you think King Edward will say?" asked Cassie, whispering next to Darren.

"I don't know," Darren replied. "Perhaps about the annual tax that the workers have to pay?"

"How could it be, the annual tax has been repealed since last May. How come the information this time will be similar?" Cassie looked at Darren while squinting, she shook her head and exhaled roughly. "Darren, you're really up to something."

"Cassie, I told you that I don't know either."

"Alright."

Indeed, the last time the royal horn sounded was two months ago, in May to be exact. At that time, the king announced that the annual tax would be abolished, as it had become a nuisance to the citizens of Crimson. The Crimson Country was a rich and developed country, so King Edward had the courage to make this decision.

"You guys read a book like what I said earlier, still remember from what page to what, right?"

"Of course I do, Master," Cassie replied on behalf of her friends.

"Good, I'll let you guys stay for a while, I'll come back later, okay?"

Domes raised his hand. "Where is Master Jael going?"

"Looking for information about the announcement from the dark full moon palace, I'm actually very curious, after all, the information that will be conveyed must be very important. So, no one minds if I leave for a few minutes, right?"

"No objection at all, master just leave now, we understand," Darren replied.

Master Jael lifted the corners of his lips upwards. "Alright, I'll be going then, see you later, bye all!"

Master Jael turned around, starting to walk away from the field where the fourth-year students were practicing. In no time at all, the handsome master had disappeared from the sight of Darren and company.

Master Jael tied up his long hair and joined the crowd of the Fire Clan. Apparently, he wasn't the only one curious about the information King Edward had shared. Large televisions were always found in every corner of the districts. It could be found anywhere, all clearly displayed. It was intended that the information conveyed by King Edward be immediately conveyed to his people.

Master Jael walked hand in hand with the people, and when he had reached the front of the large television, he turned his face upwards, the master looked up, squinting, and watched the broadcast that had just turned on there.

Silence fell, as everyone listened and watched. On the super large television screen, King Edward looked so dashing in his luxurious white clothes—the color of the Ice Clan symbol. King Edward was old, age could not hide his wrinkled face, but the impression of authority still looked so thick. His stature is still healthy and fit, so it is not strange that the king still looks handsome despite his age.

On the screen, King Edward smiled, his chest erect, his handsome face framed by his long hair that was left loose, his thick mustache blending in with his super long beard. On his head was a luxurious white crown. The king sat on his throne.

"Hello, my people," greeted King Edward, his hand waving at the camera. Master Jael felt as if the King was looking right into his eyes.

"I apologize for the disturbance I have created, I ask you to stop what you are doing for a moment, this will not last long; it will only take less than a minute. Not much time, is it?" The king laughed softly, he meant it as a joke, but the people's faces were serious as they watched him. They were eager to know what news the king would deliver this time.

"Well, I as the king among you all, will convey a little information. "There is no need to worry, this information will not harm anyone, including myself." Pausing for a moment, King Edward pressed his lips together. "My dear and honored subjects, my subjects from the clans of water, fire, wind, earth, frost, plants, lightning, and ice, I hereby announce that tomorrow morning, I will make a major announcement."

All the citizens across the clans looked at each other. Their thoughts were the same, wondering to themselves. Master Jael remained focused on the king's face.

"I'm afraid the information I'm about to convey is not official enough to be conveyed through the screen you're watching right now. So, tomorrow morning at exactly nine o'clock, the big announcement I was referring to will be made. Therefore, my dear people, I want you all to come in droves to the palace of the Full Darkness, come in droves, leave your activities for tomorrow, and I hope all the adults from all the clans will come. Yes, I expect all of you to come. This is the only information I have to share this time, don't forget tomorrow at nine in the morning. Thank you for listening to this information, you may now resume your activities."

The screen turned off, darkness fell, and King Edward disappeared from the television. Everyone dispersed, leaving to resume their activities that had been delayed by King Edward's announcement just now.

Master Jael let out a long sigh, and headed back to the field, approaching her students. Along the way, the master wondered to himself what announcement King Edward would make tomorrow. This was uncharacteristic.

"King Edward asked all the citizens to come to the palace, instead of explaining it on television, the King wants to deliver it in person, right in front of his citizens, right in front of all of us, in front of me. It must be very important information."

Master Jael could not guess anything, King Edward was too mysterious. There was nothing to do but wait for the official statement that would come out tomorrow.

Master Jail ran a little to get there quickly, and then, when his feet stepped on the field, how surprised he was when his gaze found something unexpected.

Master Jael was dumbfounded on the spot, he gaped as he held his breath.
