Dani sighed and lifted both of her arms up in the air. "We aren't going to kill one of our own and that's final." She lowered her arms. "We can't just send Emmy to her death." She looked down. I nodded and Emmy sighed. "So, you will put me down when I turn, right?" She looked at me, I nodded. "Yeah… I guess so."

Dak shrugged. "I don't want her to unexpectedly turn and kill us. Especially since she will turn into a runner. I mean… newer ones are stronger." He chuckled nervously; Emmy looked down. "I'm not going to let that happen to you guys, if it comes to it, I'll just." She made her hand look like a gun and aimed her hand to the side of her head. "Bam." Emmy leaned against the wall, wincing.

"Are you okay?" I looked at her and she nodded. "Yeah, I'm just worried about Ted. After I'm gone… What would he do? And what would he become?" Emmy teared up. "I don't want my baby to become a monster..." I hugged her. "Remember the promise? I'll keep Ted safe; I'll try my best to raise him properly. I know I'm too young to be a father figure. But it's the best I can do for a friend." I smiled. Emmy hugged back. "Thank you…"

"No need to thank me… we're in this situation together." I patted her and looked at Dani, she nodded. "Yeah, are you with us?" Dani turned her head towards Dak. Dak nodded. "Yeah… I am." He smiled. "Now let's wait for Ted."

Ted dragged the crowbar behind him, causing a scraping noise to blur in his ears repeatedly. He swung at the occasional spider webs.

He panted, he was dirty since he ran in some spider webs, and it felt gross. Ted's flashlight began to malfunction. "Ted's flashlight must work!" He hit it as it flickered and then turned off, there was silent as he continued to hit it.

"Come on." Ted mumbled and hit it one more time, a biter growled and tried to grab at Ted, he screamed and swung the crowbar at the biter's head, the biter continued to grow. Ted used the crowbar to block it by tilting it sideways and jamming it between both sides as the biter tried to grab at him.

He panted and the vent on his side began to creak as he looked around. "Come on…" he mumbled as it collapsed on his side except for the biter's side. Ted rolled on the ground and winced as he heard the growling of the biter.

He stood up and his eyes widened, the lobby entrance was wide open, and biters turned their heads towards him. Ted opened his mouth and screamed as loud as he could.

Emmy heard the scream and ran to where she heard the scream, it was on the other side of the locked door. "SOMEONE OPEN IT!" Emmy screamed, I ran over and kicked the door.

Ted backed up towards a corner as biters closed in, then he bumped into something, he felt something soft, he turned around and his eyes widened as they covered his mouth to keep him from screaming. Their claws shot out from their other hand as they growled at the biters, their sharp teeth glistening in the dark and their red eyes glowed.

I aimed my gun at the doorknob and shot it, Emmy then kicked the door as Dani and Dak both aimed their bows and fired, killing two biters.

"WE GOT YOU GUYS COVERED! EMMY YOU ARE WITH ME!" Dani yelled, Dak ran over to me and shot another biter with his bow.

A biter turned towards me, and I slammed my pistol across its face, blood splattering from the opposite direction. I did it again and stared at who was holding Ted. I picked up Ted's flashlight and shined it at them. My eyes widened. "Well?" She spoke.

"Did you miss me?" Lucifer grinned and jabbed her claws into a biter's eyes, killing it. Keep in mind that Lucifer is also a demi, a wolf demi in fact. "LET GO OF MY SON!" Emmy aimed her bow at Lucifer. "WAIT WAIT! SHE WON'T HURT TED!" I turned around and shot a biter as they inched closer, the biter that tried getting Ted in the vents began to slide down, the crowbar nearly blocking it.

Lucifer nodded. "I'm protecting him." She smiled and let Ted go as he ran towards Emmy and hugged her tightly. "Mommy! I did it!" Ted looked up at her and smiled, Emmy began to tear up. "Yeah… I know you did…"

Dak motioned his head towards Lucifer and I. "Reunion needs to be saved for later, I think we attracted the rest of the circus!" He pointed at the biters who were flooding in. Most were the old ones, but the runners pushed through and ran towards us.

Lucifer ran and her other hand shot out claws as she jumped over me and kicked a biter across the head and landed on her feet. She spun around and jabbed both of her set of claws into two biters, killing them.

A runner jumped towards me and growled, I aimed my gun at it and smirked. "Die." I pulled the trigger, and the bullet went through the runner's brain as it flung into the crowd of biters. "Now seriously?! Can we go back?!" Dak began to run as the biter slid down the vent and landed right on Dak's back. I turned around and saw the biter bite into Dak's neck.

He screamed in pain and blood dribbled down his chest and soaked his shirt, Dak threw the biter off and began to stomp on its head. "Stupid mother fucker!" He groaned and looked back at us and ran over. Lucille slid over to Dani and Emmy as she used her claws to stop herself, sparks igniting due to it.

I turned around and waited for Dak. "Hurry!" I yelled, Dak ran over and slammed the door on himself. I banged on the door as he used his body to keep it shut. "I'm sorry kiddo. But today… is my final showdown." Dak looked at him and smirked as he pulled out his box of cigarettes and put a cigarette in between his lips, he pulled out his lighter and flicked it on, lowering it to the cigarette, he then threw it onto the ground. "I promised my daughter that I would never smoke again till the day I die. And today is the day I die." He looked back at me. "Thank you, for everything. Seriously… time to meet her." He smiled and turned his head back at the biters who closed in, the biter who bit Dak stood up and growled.

Dak shoved a cabinet in front of the door and grabbed a piece of metal rebar, gripping it as he puffed out smoke. "This is a man's way to go." He swung the rebar across a biter's head and the skull broke within one hit, the biter slowly looked back at Dak as he swung again, killing it.

A biter knocked over a gas canister, spilling gas everywhere. Dak noticed it and snickered, he calmly walked over and picked up his lighter and flicked it on, Dak had flashbacks to when his family was murdered by biters, and he had burned them to death. "It really has turned full circle, huh..."

I kept banging against the door, tears streaming down my face. Dani grabbed me and pulled me away. "NO! NO!" I tried to grab at the door, Dani was also crying.

Dak watched us get out of view, he turned back at the biters. "FUCK YOU!" He screamed and dropped the lighter, smiling. "I'll see you on the other side." Dani grabbed me and dived right towards the back of the building as Lucifer ran over with Ted and Emmy as an explosion occurred, which blasted a hole into the wall, but all the biters were mostly dead, some limped over to us, they were on fire, but they eventually fell down due to their brain getting destroyed from it.

"DAK NO!" I cried out; it was silent.

A guy, who was in his teens walked over to another guy, who looked to be in his teens as well. "It looks like the screamer just heard the explosion..." he looked over at the smoke. "What do you think their next move is?" He stood next to him and looked over at his face. "Hayden?"

Hayden looked over at his right-hand man. "Let's see, Zach." Zach had short brown hair and green eyes, a long scar reached from his eye to his jaw, a bandana was wrapped around his forehead, and he held a sniper rifle.

"Is it ready?" Hayden asked. "Oh this?" Zach held a dose of green liquid. "Yeah, that." Hayden looked back at the screamer who turned its head towards the explosion. "Yes. Dr. Stanford did a good job making this." Zach smiled and handed him the dose. Hayden laughed and handed him the dose instead. "You're the one doing it, you've earned your place." Hayden's white hair blew around due to the wind, revealing his red eyes.

The screamer roared as loud as it could, drool dripping from its mouth. A couple of biters like Mr. Wentworth began to charge towards the explosion as a new and bigger herd approached.

"I hope you enjoy the show there, Cody." Hayden laughed.
