The woman's expression was utterly shocked, the glass of wine immediately hot on her lips like acid had spread to the tip of the glass.

"What are you talking about?" Her brow was deeply arched in confusion. "This drink is..poisoned?" Her voice trembled slightly.

Her name was Vivianne Cross, the first child of the Prestigious Cross family, S-class family in the city with properties sprawling across the New York. Men chased after her like honey seeking her heart, women are jealous of her beauty and elegant posture that was similar to a modeling figure but none had dared to go beyond the admiration because Vivianne sets the standard, the icy CEO of Cross Consortium.

This particular date had been decided by her family for a solid relationship with the family of the man across from her who'd been chasing her heart for several months, and she'd only came because she wanted her family to leave her neck unbeknownst to her that he had cruel ulterior motive.

Meaning while, the man across from her had gone still in his seat, but his expression quickly restored from shock to defiance in a splitting seconds.

Killian nodded and turned to the man. His eyes widened slightly with a hint of surprise seeing the man across was no other person but Jack Moore, the man who he caught banging with Cassandra shitless in her office like a disposable thing, the man who had promised her wedding in a week and taunted him and more importantly the man who had spun everything to have him thrown in prison. That bastard was hanging out with another woman and with a cruel intention.

Jack was equally surprised immediately their eyes met. He swallowed hard.

"Who the heck are you?" He growled, his eyes darkening instantly. "Get the fuck out of here. How dare you interrupt a conversation you're invited in?" His voice trembled slightly not because he was angry but because his ambition was caught by Killian.

Vivianne set down the glass cup with a sharp thud. Her expression had completely stiffened, glaring at Jack across the table.

"Do you really poisoned my drink?" She demanded, her voice slightly harsh.

Jack's expression dropped dramatically to a false shocking expression. "What? Are you going to believe this riff-raff over me?"

Killian quietly tucked his hand in his pocket, observing with a calm expression and a hint of cold amusement stretching the corner of his lips tight.

Vivianne narrowed her expression on him. She was a woman of little words and more actions. She leaned in gently, her eyes peering straight into Jack's eyes like she was going to see through his hideous ambition.

"If you didn't Poison the drink as he said," her voice dropped to an octave that was far dangerous than any loudness. "take the glass and drink. Now."

The Bar shifted now as the scene was getting everyone's attention, murmuring buzzing in the through the jazz music playing in the background.

Jack laughed bitterly. "You're believing this stranger nobody over me? This is ridiculous. We came here to enjoy. I have no intention to harm you so that drink is meant for you." The words tumbled out from his lips like a man grasping at a straw through his own wreckage.

Vivianne's expression remained impassive— cold, sharp and observing.

"This is not about the stranger or the drink. It's about trust."

"Fine! I'll drink it!" Jack said and threw Killian a deadly gaze like YOU'RE FINISHED EX-CON. Killian was unmoved.

"You want me to drink it. Then fine! I will do what you want!" He picked up the glass cup. The Bar leaned in, watching every inch the glass was moving to his lips. Vivianne's gaze was fixed on him. Jack could see his own death and humiliation with every second the glass moves closer, his heart racing erratically and Vivianne was beginning to think; Maybe the strange guy(Killian) was just another of her pursuers who was viciously jealous because Jack was with her, maybe Jack was really honest, but at the last second, Jack intentionally allowed the glass to slip from his hand. Killian moved instantly, his motion fluid as water, catching the glass cup before the marble dip. The Hall gasped. Vivianne's expression cracked with surprise and Jack was super angry seeing the glass back to his table. His palm slammed on the table, jerking up in a way his chair scraped back and titled slowly before slamming the floor.

"Enough of this!!" He bellowed. "All of you get out! Now!" His expression changed from pure contempt, the corner of his lips curled into a predator smirk. Vivianne's brow arched, watching everyone scramble out of the Bar. "What is going on?" Her expression now held ice and confusion and fear that later came seeing the Bar that was earlier bustling desolated. Only five rugged looking men stayed. They had no weapon but looking at them, Vivianne immediately sensed trouble.

Jack made a simple gesture to one of the men who went to the door and slammed it shut, the lock engaged with a snap.

This was all Jack's plan and he was meticulously with it despite his desperation to force his way under Vivianne's skirt. He had paid for the entire Bar, set up fake people to play patrons and even thugs In case things went south like it was. His preliminary plan was to drug Vivianne and have her in his bed until that bastard (Killian) showed his ugly face.

Vivianne's heart hammered, fear slowly slipping through her icy CEO expression. She was trapped in a room with Seven men around her because she didn't know who really has good intention even Killian might just be another player in the game and it was even more convincing looking around, Killian sat calmly, pouring himself a glass of wine despite the tension that hung thick in the room like he had everyone under his command.
