It has been two days since he'd taken Sandra and rest to the mall to buy clothes and the funeral was finally here. Adrian had woken up earlier than usual, he was in charge of arranging the seats people were going to be seated at and he also had to put black umbrellas at everyone's chair. He was already at the funeral site arranging the chairs when Lady Barbara walked into the site in the morning. It was around six o'clock and he wondered why she was here. He however kept as silent as he could just doing his job and acting like he didn't see her.It was best when he was invisible, she would pick on someone else instead but then when he glanced at her face there was a kind of subtlety to it that made him realize she wasn't here for trouble today. She walked past him and whispered a good morning and Adrian almost jumped out of his own body.“Good morning ma'am,” he replied quickly with a bow. She however didn't even see him. He watched her to her husband's coffin that had already been la
“Good day sir,” Anthony started, shaking the man. The man was an obviously elderly man, with his balding hair and wrinkled face. He was in a blue suit and on his hand he sported an obviously expensive watch. “Good day ma'am,” he bowed to the woman too.Adrian repeated the same thing, greeting both people with a bow, he didn't even dare stretch his hand for a handshake, they were obviously of s higher class than he was even with his one billion dollar account. They had the look of people who have been running businesses for so long they became gods in the field. “So this is the boy?” The man asked Anthony, sounding unimpressed. “Yes sir,” Anthony said.“Well, this ought to teach her a lesson don't you think?” the man said with a partial grin on his face. “Stop that, Charles, you don't speak in such a demeaning manner to someone you barely know,” his wife cautioned him. She then turned to Adrian who was sweating all over his suit. The two elderly people exuded such aura that it felt
Adrian was half dragged out of the house. Once they got outside the house his mother looked at him, checking out his body. “Are you sure you are okay?” She asked.“Yes, I am,” Adrian replied. “She didn't touch me,” he said.“Good,” she exhaled. “Well, you have a guest,” she informed him. “How did you know that?” he asked. “We were both in the house together, so how could you possibly know if someone is looking for me,” she asked. “Linda messaged me,” she replied nonchalantly, showing him her phone. Adrian furrowed her brows. “Why didn't she message me?” He wondered about picking his phone from his pocket, and he realized that he had three messages and seven missed calls. “Oh,” he muttered. “Well, where is the guest?” He asked. “They are waiting for you at the gate,” she said. “They don't want to come in,” she replied. “I don't know why, are you in some shady business?” His mother asked.“No,” he said. “I don't even know who it is,” he said. His mother looked at him with squinted
Adrian woke up to the smell of roasted beef and potatoes. He jerked up from his bed and decided to start his new morning routine. He'd been trying to improve the amount of things he got done everyday. Before he didn't need to bother about such things, his entire day was decided by Lady Barbara and her children. He started with low stretches, and eventually it transitioned to intense pull ups and push ups. After he was done with his exercise that took about an entire hour, he was sweating, so he decided to head into the bathroom to bathe. He clicked open the door and allowed the droplets of water to just run through his body. He made it a habit to think about his day to day activity in the bathroom and understand what he was going to do next.Planning everything he would do to close perfection helped him get things done better. Today, his schedule was rather simple, he would see his mother off to the park as she was leaving today, but first he had to call Rose. Over the span of ti
He picked up the dialler and placed the phone against his ear. “Good morning,” he answered. He couldn't guess why Mr. Anthony would be calling him today. They hadn't spoken for a while now and he has been able to get a lot of things out of himself. He's been tendering hisngarden with far more love than he usually did as he was happier with the situation of his current life. Although he knew heavy is the head that wore the crown he still decided to enjoy the moment when everything is peaceful and he is able to get away with lots of things and have free time to himself. “Good morning, young master,” Mr. Anthony picked up the call and greeted with his usually calm voice. “Are you free today sir?” He asked. Adrian shifted his body weight as Blinks started the ignition and the car began to zoom off. “That depends, do you have anything for me?” He asked. He'd been calling Mr. Anthony with honorifics up until now, he'd told her to stop it and not do it again so that it felt as if he was m
He picked up the phone call and answered it seriously, snapping out of what had just come over him. “Hello,” he said as he placed his phone on the table beside him, taking off his cloth as he expected the lawyer's reply. “I have been waiting a while if you do not mind young master, is everything okay?” He asked. “I am sorry, we had to get me to a boutique so I can change my look,” he answered. *Blinks advised that I needed to look like an authority at least,” he replied. “Okay, see you soon. A smart decision if I would say,” he commented and then hung up on him. Adrian shook his head and then changed into his clothes and then put on his shoes. He checked himself out in the mirror in front of him and discovered he looked really good as compared to everyone else. That suit did make him look like he was the boss. He whirled around and folded his old suit neatly into a paper bag. He checked himself out one more time before finally exiting the room. He met Blinks outside and gestur
"How have you been, if I may ask?” Mr. Anthony began as they slowly walked towards one of the exquisitely carved elevator doors. The doors themselves were not the issue, they were only plain white, but they appeared ever so aesthetically pleasing to look at due to the painting on the walls of the building itself. “I am definitely delighted to be here,” Adrian blurted, his mouth unable to close as he glanced around. At the center of the building's ceiling, a chandelier dangled slowly as if swaying to the low tone music that resonated the entire area. “I meant how you have been, in general?” He inquired again trying to gain the attention of the man who was currently being swayed by the aesthetics of the building. Although he didn't blame him, the place was indeed very beautiful. Adrian turned to him, catching himself before he embarrassed himself further. “I have been okay, I guess,” he replied. The last time Adrian had come here, he was way too troubled to take in the beauty of the
Adrian followed Mr. Anthony as the man headed out of the office. Instead of going through the elevator this time they took the stairs instead and they began to descend slowly and silently. Adrian could hear soft chatters rise up from the lower floor. With the little words he picked up, it was a definite conclusion that they were rich people. They reached the floor in no time and there were just two people outside, leaning against the wall just addressing each other in soft tones. They didn't notice Adrian until they reached their side and Mr. Anthony cleared his throat to get their attention. The two people turned around. One of them was a woman in her early fifties, she was wearing a corporate suit like everyone else and she sported a coily red wig on her head and a pair of long earrings that made her feel younger than she actually was. The man on the other hand was a bald man, probably in his sixties, he was dark skinned and had little white beards on his chin. He smiled at Antho
