"Jump now. If you want to jump, why don't you?"

"You... you... you can't come here... I... I'll jump!"

As Ethan drew closer, the girl became increasingly agitated. In a split second, she stepped back, lost her footing, and nearly fell.

"Ah!!! Help me!!!"

At this point, the girl's scream was so high-pitched that even Ethan, standing more than ten paces away, had to cover his ears.

"What are you yelling for? Haven't you fallen into the river yet? And, if you wanted to commit suicide, why are you so afraid of dying?"

Hearing Ethan's sarcastic tone, the girl no longer wanted to end her life. Instead, she was filled with resentment and continued to scream.

"You're despicable, you wretched man! If something happens to me, you're the murderer who killed me! Even as a ghost, I won't leave you alone!"

As the girl continued to shriek, onlookers driving by cast suspicious glances. Ethan sighed, hurried over, grabbed the girl's hand clutching the railing, and shouted.

"Come up here. Stop yelling down there. If you keep screaming, people will think you jumped because of me!"

"Who wants to commit suicide? You and your whole family should commit suicide! I'm just standing on the railing to vent my sorrows. Because of you, you wretched man, I slipped and almost fell."

Seeing her angry expression, Ethan couldn't help but shake his head and feeling unhappy, quickly pulling her back onto the bridge.

However, after being pulled up, the girl didn't even thank him but instead glared at Ethan with a furious expression, snorting coldly.

Immediately after, she quickly walked away from the bridge as if fearing that Ethan would bother her again.

Ethan sighed inwardly, not expecting to encounter such a person.

He was in a bad mood today and wanted to return to this familiar place where he and Melanie had first met. However, seeing the girl attempting suicide and causing the current misunderstanding, he no longer desired to linger on the bridge. Instead, he left and entered a bar, ordering a solid drink. Today, he wanted to get beer and forget all the troubles in his heart.

But as Ethan filled his glass and was about to take a sip, he heard a piercing scream from behind. Turning around, he saw the girl he had encountered on the bridge staring at him with a bizarre expression.

"Ah, what are you doing here? Are you following me?"

Her scream caught the attention of several bar patrons, who noticed the beautiful young girl and the seemingly feeble man opposite her. Some began whispering, considering acting as heroes to save the distressed damsel.

"Who cares about you? I just came here to drink!"

Ethan glanced around, feeling utterly annoyed. He just wanted to drink away his sorrows, so how did he encounter such a troublesome person? He decided to stand up, pay, and leave. However, a young man with dyed blonde hair pierced his nostrils at that moment, and a few similarly styled companions approached. They looked like troublemakers, not decent people at all.

"Hey man, were you following this girl just now?"

Seeing these young men suddenly appearing before him, Ethan felt a sense of unease and slightly furrowed his brows.

"I just came here to drink, and you guys must have misunderstood something!"

"Misunderstood? Ha, do you think just saying 'misunderstood' will settle everything? This is our boss, and you can't just say 'misunderstood' in front of him and walk away!"

Seeing that these young men were determined not to let him go, Ethan's eyes turned to the girl, hoping she could speak up and help him. However, she seemed afraid of the young man and avoided his gaze, quickly hiding to one side.

"Ah, this guy? Didn't you hear what we just said? Apologize to our boss, bow down, beg for forgiveness, or else..."

A young man with flaming red hair, seeing Ethan looking at the girl, became angry and suddenly kicked Ethan in the stomach. The attack caught Ethan off guard, and with the short distance between them, he couldn't avoid it. He staggered back a few steps, reeling from the blow.

Suddenly attacked like that, Ethan was genuinely furious. However, he knew these people were difficult to deal with, so he tried to suppress his anger, chuckling and saying: "What just happened was truly a misunderstanding. I hope you guys can forgive me. I wasn't following that girl. If you don't believe me, you can ask her!"

But as soon as Ethan finished speaking, the girl had already vanished. Not seeing the girl nearby, the young men became even angrier with Ethan. One of them couldn't hold back and started swearing.

"Damn it, we let that girl getaway! Big bro, how should we deal with this guy now?"

"Idiot, you guys couldn't keep an eye on that girl? Break his legs for me, and I'll take responsibility!"

The blond-haired young man was genuinely enraged, having come here to play the hero and save the damsel in distress. But the hero was nowhere to be found, and the damsel had disappeared. This infuriated him even more, and he started cursing as well.

Seeing they were so furious, the other young men acted like mad dogs, quickly grabbing beer bottles and smashing them toward Ethan. Knowing that a fight was unavoidable today, Ethan still didn't show fear.

He had previously learned martial arts from a master. With the assistance of an Artificial Superintelligence, red dots appeared on the bodies of the hoodlums, indicating their weak points and vulnerabilities. Although dealing with several thugs at once made his movements slightly sluggish, and he received several injuries, Ethan kept striking their weak points, causing those who charged at him to suffer incredible pain.

"Damn it, haven't you guys eaten? Why aren't you hitting him faster? Whoever breaks his leg, I'll reward them... ah..."

The blond-haired young man, watching his numerous allies unable to defeat Ethan, became furious. He was about to use the money to encourage his subordinates to try harder when he suddenly clutched his head and screamed in agony. The girl who had run away earlier had returned, holding an empty liquor bottle in her hand, its top stained with blood from hitting the blond-haired young man's head.

"What are you standing there for? Run!"

Seeing Ethan still looking stunned, Tazanna angrily yelled at him. Then, right in front of the group of young men, she grabbed Ethan's arm and quickly ran out of the bar.
