" What on earth is this?" Evan Wesker asked the security guards again.

"He says he knows Mr. Ashen Lee and wants to register as a member of this auction house. But we believe he wants to make trouble in this auction house, sir!" Matthew, whose hands were tied behind his back, could only sigh and then attempt to interfere as the security guard spoke to Evan Wesker.

While the security guard was talking to Evan Wesker, Matthew, whose hands were behind his back and handcuffed, could only sigh, then tried to interject.

"I don't have a black card and a fancy suit like the other members wear, but I have an unlimited balance in my account. You can check it in the wallet I keep in my back pocket."

Matthew ordered one of the security guards to take the wallet out of his back pocket. The wallet contained an identity card and the card he had made yesterday. Evan Wesker was astonished by the identity on the identification card in the wallet, not the card itself.

"Are you Dominic Rayn ...?" Evan Wesker asked Matthew.

Matthew nodded, acknowledging the old man's question. Instead of being taken to the security room, Evan Wesker asked the security guards to let Matthew go.

"I know him, and if you can't help him register, don't hold him like this," Evan said, leading Matthew to a table.

Evan Wesker gave Matthew a cup of tea and a form to complete. "You can fill it out, and I'll make a member card for you."

"Do you believe that I have money?" Asked Matthew curiously.

"Aren't you the owner of the Serenity?Co?" Evan Wesker asked, keeping an appearance of disinterest. He even turned his back on Matthew's face to read the book he was holding.

Thomas nodded. Evan didn't ask him any more questions because he was already fascinated with the book he was carrying. Since Matthew didn't have any queries, he completed Evan's form. But just as Matthew was about to submit the record, he quickly seized it.

"What the hell, Evan?" the man asked, a hint of anger in his tone. "I asked you to select potential auctioneers, but you accept a man like him in this place?" the man said again.

When Matthew rose up and turned to face the person who had attacked him, he was shocked to see his brother-in-law, Dominic Rayn, Denias Floss, the first son of the Floss family, and Ashen Lee. Matthew strongly desired revenge by pulling the paper from the paperback.

"Mr. Lee, what's wrong with you? He simply wants to sign up as a member, and no regulation in the auction house's authority forbids anyone from doing so." Evan explained everything he knew about the auction house's official rules.

However, Ashen Lee did not seem to care about any of that and chose to warn Evan not to let Matthew become a member of the auction house.

"Please tell me what the reason is. Is this all because of your debt that you can't pay me?" Matthew immediately questioned the fundamental rationale for Ashen Lee's treatment of him in that manner.

Instead of being concerned and guilty. Denias Floss and Ashen Lee exchanged glances in response to Matthew's question before giggling. When Denias revealed why he was laughing, Matthew instantly wanted to laugh, despite his original impression that Denias was relatively uncommon for laughing. Since Denias Floss instructed Ashen Lee to borrow $800,000,000.

I thought you were a businessman with an intelligent mind and strong logic. Still, in fact, you're just a fool who can be blackmailed with just a miserable face and fake promises," Denias made fun of Matthew as he spoke.

Hearing it made Matthew want to laugh even more. Because, as Denias Floss had alleged, Dominic Rayn was a foolish and imprudent businessman. A healthy dose of solid judgment and a preference for principle over affection are necessary for wealth and success. According to Matthew, Dominic Rayn is the one who is currently feeling the most regret towards everyone who has attacked him.

Dominic Rayn must face pain as a person who is homeless and lacking in appropriate attire. Meanwhile, everyone else gets everything they want, including houses, businesses, opulent spaces, sports cars, and financial security and insurance worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

"So I won't get my 800 million dollars anymore?" Matthew asked Ashen Lee.

"Haha ... why are you asking something obvious?"

Matthew grinned and muttered an insult as he considered what to say to the two men before him. Evan Wesker interrupted Matthew as he decided what to do and asked whether he still wanted to sign up as an auction house member.

"If you want to continue, please deposit fifty thousand dollars for the registration fee and a reserve balance for your first auction," Evan explained.

However, the explanation given by Evan made Ashen Lee laugh.

"Is there anything that sounds funny about what I said, Mr. Lee?" Evan asked Ashen.

"Of course, you think he has that much money, Evan?"

When Ashen tried to make fun of him again, Matthew pulled out his card and asked Evan to authenticate his registration. Matthew did not want Ashen Lee and Denias to make fun of him.

"I will do the registration right away," Evan said.

After Evan said that, a female employee walked over and took the form Matthew had not yet completed and the identification card he had given them.

After seeing it, Denies and Ashen Lee looked at each other in disbelief. They didn't expect Dominic Rayn, who had lost everything after being evicted from his own home and business, to have the $50,000 needed for registration.

"Hey, man. I know you need the money, but stealing is against the law." Ashen Lee commented that the money Matthew had earned resulted from the robbery.

"Just let him rob. I'd rather have him rot in jail than hang around my sister like that. I don't want to have a brother-in-law like him anymore. Loser and poor." Denias added.

Matthew chose to remain mute rather than answer to all of Denias' charges, as his brother-in-law, Dominic Rayn, continued to rage while slapping and even striking him in the head, at times nearly shoving Matthew to the ground due to the force of the push.

The female employee who had left with his card and registration documents reappeared with a little tray with another card and a pin just as Denias Floss was ready to do more to Matthew.

Evan was given the tray by the staffer, who also allowed him to return Matthew's card, the membership card for the auction house, and a pin with the letter 'K' etched in titanium that belonged exclusively to the Kriskonvich auction house.

An extremely rare emerald diamond necklace, of which only two pieces exist and one worn by a queen from an eastern dynasty, will be auctioned today. I'm Dominic Rayn, and this is your membership card. We appreciate your coming to Kriskonvich Auction House. As he pinned Matthew's appropriate shirt collar, Evan briefly explained. However, Matthew's two criminal associates paid no heed since they were too shocked that he may suddenly start bidding at the auction.

Seaside Bay sat quiet under the pale yellow glow of the streetlamps. Through the fogged-up glass window, the ocean looked like a sheet of black silk, glinting faintly. Every so often, a wave broke against the dock with a dull thud.
