Chapter 15: Grimnar's Spy Threat.

"Who sent you here?" Aethon asked confidently, his gaze fixed on the spy who was tied tightly against an iron bar in front of a burning furnace. The furnace blazed fiercely, its flames casting an intense light on the spy's face, streaked with sweat and marked by a look of deep hatred.

"I'm not telling you anything," the spy responded, his voice strained as he struggled against the chains.

"Very well then," Aethon said calmly. He turned to his men with a firm nod. "Increase the fire," he commanded.

The men approached the furnace, cautious of the fierce heat that radiated off it. They picked up a large metal bucket filled with a special oil, that could intensify the burning of the furnace. As they poured the oil into the furnace, the flames surged upward with a loud whoosh, the heat growing even more intense. The men stepped back quickly, shielding their faces from the burst of heat that followed, some yelped as sparks flew and burnt their skin.
