Crushing Defeat

Evan grew more and more infuriated after a series of failed attacking attempts. Finnian was like a fish that slip through his hands at the last moment. And he was even more baffled how Finnian could move so precisely in his condition.

‘His left arm is obviously broken, from how limp it is,” Evan thought. He was slowly deducting Finnian’s weaknesses. Since overbearing skill didn’t work, he had to resort to thinking of ways to at least slow Finnian down. ‘His left eye has been closed the whole time, which could mean two things: he is either doing that on purpose or that eye is wounded too.’

Granted that Evan thought of these two options, his instincts leaned to the last one. Since Finnian had one arm less, he would have to put forth his senses to the max to make up for the loss, especially when his opponent was an elite like Evan. Or so Evan thought. ‘It’s time I end this,’ thought Evan as his speed increased yet again.

The trick this time around was to throw his opponent off his trail.
