Valen lay sprawled on the ballroom floor, blood pooling around him. The siren, its victory short-lived, seized Sarah by the neck, its grip tightening like a vise.

"I sense the presence of the relic in this building. They both have awakened." it hissed, its voice laced with triumph, "but it's too faint for me to pinpoint its exact location." Its glowing eyes bored into Sarah's. "Your face says you know nothing about it, but you'll do well to show us around the estate. Its whereabouts could save your life."

"I don't know what you're talking about..." Sarah gasped, struggling to breathe.

"I just said that," the siren sneered. "Just take us where your brother carries out his activities. I should be able to find it easily."

"My brother is secretive, I don't know where he—"

Before Sarah could finish her sentence, the siren slammed her against the wall with bone-jarring force. A crater formed around her, and she crumpled to the floor, blood trickling from her lips.

"Think twice before answering me again," the siren snarled, pressing its clawed hand against her throat. "If you're waiting for help to come, you can give up. The whole estate has been wiped out—"

"I wouldn't be so sure about that."

A voice, cold and resonant, cut through the tension. The air crackled with an oppressive weight, the temperature plummeting as a wave of power swept through the room. The siren, its grip tightening on Sarah, slowly turned to face the source of the chilling aura.

Valen stood amidst the carnage, the arrow that had pierced his heart clutched in his hand. His eyes, now blazing with a crimson fire, were marked with the same intricate crest as Palmer's, pulsing with an otherworldly light.

The siren's expression widened in terror as he recognized the distinct pattern of the crest in Valen's eyes. "He's a noble..." the siren breathed, its voice a mixture of disbelief and fear. "He's a noble vampire? They never said anything about dealing with a noble vampire!" It looked around frantically, its eyes widening in horror as it saw its fallen comrades. Beside them were guards that were thought dead, eyes also glistening with the same pattern.

Realizing its predicament, the siren attempted a desperate gambit. "Try anything stupid," it hissed, tightening its grip on Sarah, "and off with her head—"

"Your pride will be the end of you," Valen said, his voice a chilling whisper.

In a blur of motion, too fast for the siren to even register, both of its hands were severed at the wrists. Blood spurted from the stumps, splattering across the pristine floor. The siren screamed in agony.

Valen, already with Sarah in his hands, gently placed her in a nearby chaise lounge. Then, he turned back to the siren, his eyes burning with cold fury. He seized the creature by its head, his grip unrelenting.

"I'll be asking you some questions and you'll answer me accurately, understood?" he growled, his voice laced with a deadly calm.

Valen's grip tightened on the siren's head, forcing its gaze to meet his own. He focused his will, attempting to pierce through the creature's mental defenses and extract the information he needed. But as he delved into the siren's mind, he encountered an unexpected barrier, a wall of resistance that pulsed with holy energy. The siren's eyes widened in panic, its body trembling as it fought against Valen's intrusion.

"That confirms my suspicions," Valen muttered, a grim smile playing on his lips. "The holy church, working with the supernatural. Laced your minds with barriers to avoid leaking information. They're quite skilled to be able to create one this strong. Not bad."

The siren, paralyzed by fear and the oppressive aura emanating from Valen, could only whimper. Its severed arms weren't regenerating, the cells seemingly aware of the imminent threat and refusing to cooperate.

"I have no use for you then," Valen said, his voice devoid of emotion.

With a swift, brutal motion, he ripped the siren's head from its body. The creature's lifeless eyes stared blankly at the ceiling, its reign of terror brought to an abrupt and gruesome end.

"Every five hundred years, some of the children of Primeus, the man who sealed Auraeus, reincarnate." Garghat's eyes slid open, his shadow a looming giant cast by the candlelight flickering in the vast hall. "Who would’ve thought the statue built in Primeus’s honor would also serve as a beacon to his bloodline’s? These reincarnates are then raised to reproduce, enabling us to breed future knights with their divine attributes." He paused, turning slowly to Alistair. "Thanks to this cycle, the Church has kept every supernatural threat in check since the Dawn Era."He rose slowly from his ornate chair, the light of the candles bending toward him like they feared to defy his presence. "But that has changed now that I am the Grand Elder." A smirk twisted his lips. "What's more, we were blessed with three of Primeus's children in this era: Xantrax, Odinson, and Veridan. Each of them is just as powerful as they were in the dawn era. Each is strong enough to hold their own ground against th

The dust settled, revealing a figure emerging from the wreckage that Elijah's force had created. "Pleased to make your acquaintance," the knight said, calmly brushing debris from his spotless white mantle. "The name is Xantrax. Cadet in the order of the holy court. I'm among the newest recruits in the D-Sector of the Knightwards."Elijah stood silent, head slightly tilted, a flicker of curiosity crossing his face as he observed the skinny knight."No need to look so edgy," Xantrax chirped, a slight, confident grin playing on his lips. "I just thought we'd get to know each other before we clash, at least."Elijah maintained his stance, wondering how the young knight before him could project such staggering confidence, even facing him."You'll regret it if you underestimate me." Xantrax raised his right hand, his fingers interlocking in a precise hand seal before his face. His left hand gripped his sword in a deliberate, low guard... ready to cut. His eyes snapped shut.Elijah narrowed

"You see," Alistair adjusted his long, dark leather coat, his smirk faintly illuminated by the setting sun. "The demons don’t want anything except to see humans in utter despair. They don’t care about hierarchy or politics… unless Auraeus is involved." His eyes flicked toward Elijah and Lilith. "I was able to gain their assistance with that condition." "Is that so?" Aurora's voice slipped through the shadows, cold and deadly, seemingly disembodied. "Perhaps I gave the demons too much credit." The crimson dust settled slowly, revealing her silhouette. Dangling in her hand, the head of the demon that had charged her, her figure now plain in sight, a thin line of blood dripping from her lips. "They never struck me as beings that would work as underdogs for skinwalkers." Alistair forced a grin, though a bead of sweat betrayed him. "Oi, oi, oi. That demon carried spiritual energy equal to a Noble vampire, you know?" His thoughts churned. Just how much stronger has she become in these ye

"You are going to save my daughter, alright, Dylan?" Claudia slammed her hand on the conference table, her voice shaking with a fury born of fear.Dylan faced her, his expression a tight mask of frustration. "As the leader of the hunters, it's my responsibility to risk my life for my team, but that alone isn't enough to go against those things.""What do you mean?" she demanded. He turned to the administrators, gesturing wildly with his hands. "Those creatures were created by a single orb, just by touching it. And one of them was able to solo a noble vampire and make off with the relic without much effort. No offense, guys...""None taken," Fenris replied with a shrug."He wasn't talking to you, douche," Valen sneered.Dylan ignored them, his gaze fixed on Claudia. "According to Freya, there are at least ten of them. Going there with resolve alone is outright suicide. You've just sent our only chance of getting your daughter back packing.""Are you trying to bargain for them?" Victor

The hallway echoed with a single, firm voice. "Absolutely not!"The room was a stark contrast to the verdant world outside. Fluorescent lights hummed over a long, polished table, where the community's top brass, the administrators and executives, sat in a formidable line. Opposite them stood Palmer, Valen, Fenris, Max, and Dylan, an island of outsiders."If what you're saying is true," Claudia Draxen, the Chief Administrator, said with a voice like a guillotine's blade, "doesn't that mean we risk revealing this place to them when we bring the relics together here?""This is the best place to keep them!" Dylan countered, his face a mask of frustration. "They can't reach the orbs here.""You say that, but you've already brought some of them to us," Reginald Veynar, the Chief Administrative Assistant, said, his fingers steepled on the table. "What makes you so sure there aren't more of them...more than can breathe in a place that's supposed to be deadly to their kind?""Reginald has a po

"The vessel that measly guardian created with the relics is developing exceptionally fast even after absorbing three of them," Auraeus's voice, a chilling echo, resonated in Aurora’s mind. "I wonder how he'll do when he eventually goes against you."Aurora opened her scarlet eyes, her stare just as piercing as a needle. She reclined on her throne, a posture of languid power, an elbow resting on its arm, her chin lightly propped on her hand. Her long, silky dark hair spilled around her, a midnight cascade against the rich fabric of the chair. The faint glow of a lone oil lamp traced the sharp planes of her face, revealing an unsettling blankness in her expression, a stillness that transcended mere calm."Looks like you can now share your presence across multiple places at a time," she stated, her cold voice echoing back in her own mind."A little progress, but it's better than residing in the emptiness of those relics that damned brat sealed me in," Auraeus replied with a mental purr.
