Valen lay sprawled on the ballroom floor, blood pooling around him. The siren, its victory short-lived, seized Sarah by the neck, its grip tightening like a vise.

"I sense the presence of the relic in this building. They both have awakened." it hissed, its voice laced with triumph, "but it's too faint for me to pinpoint its exact location." Its glowing eyes bored into Sarah's. "Your face says you know nothing about it, but you'll do well to show us around the estate. Its whereabouts could save your life."

"I don't know what you're talking about..." Sarah gasped, struggling to breathe.

"I just said that," the siren sneered. "Just take us where your brother carries out his activities. I should be able to find it easily."

"My brother is secretive, I don't know where he—"

Before Sarah could finish her sentence, the siren slammed her against the wall with bone-jarring force. A crater formed around her, and she crumpled to the floor, blood trickling from her lips.

"Think twice before answering me again," the siren snarled, pressing its clawed hand against her throat. "If you're waiting for help to come, you can give up. The whole estate has been wiped out—"

"I wouldn't be so sure about that."

A voice, cold and resonant, cut through the tension. The air crackled with an oppressive weight, the temperature plummeting as a wave of power swept through the room. The siren, its grip tightening on Sarah, slowly turned to face the source of the chilling aura.

Valen stood amidst the carnage, the arrow that had pierced his heart clutched in his hand. His eyes, now blazing with a crimson fire, were marked with the same intricate crest as Palmer's, pulsing with an otherworldly light.

The siren's expression widened in terror as he recognized the distinct pattern of the crest in Valen's eyes. "He's a noble..." the siren breathed, its voice a mixture of disbelief and fear. "He's a noble vampire? They never said anything about dealing with a noble vampire!" It looked around frantically, its eyes widening in horror as it saw its fallen comrades. Beside them were guards that were thought dead, eyes also glistening with the same pattern.

Realizing its predicament, the siren attempted a desperate gambit. "Try anything stupid," it hissed, tightening its grip on Sarah, "and off with her head—"

"Your pride will be the end of you," Valen said, his voice a chilling whisper.

In a blur of motion, too fast for the siren to even register, both of its hands were severed at the wrists. Blood spurted from the stumps, splattering across the pristine floor. The siren screamed in agony.

Valen, already with Sarah in his hands, gently placed her in a nearby chaise lounge. Then, he turned back to the siren, his eyes burning with cold fury. He seized the creature by its head, his grip unrelenting.

"I'll be asking you some questions and you'll answer me accurately, understood?" he growled, his voice laced with a deadly calm.

Valen's grip tightened on the siren's head, forcing its gaze to meet his own. He focused his will, attempting to pierce through the creature's mental defenses and extract the information he needed. But as he delved into the siren's mind, he encountered an unexpected barrier, a wall of resistance that pulsed with holy energy. The siren's eyes widened in panic, its body trembling as it fought against Valen's intrusion.

"That confirms my suspicions," Valen muttered, a grim smile playing on his lips. "The holy church, working with the supernatural. Laced your minds with barriers to avoid leaking information. They're quite skilled to be able to create one this strong. Not bad."

The siren, paralyzed by fear and the oppressive aura emanating from Valen, could only whimper. Its severed arms weren't regenerating, the cells seemingly aware of the imminent threat and refusing to cooperate.

"I have no use for you then," Valen said, his voice devoid of emotion.

With a swift, brutal motion, he ripped the siren's head from its body. The creature's lifeless eyes stared blankly at the ceiling, its reign of terror brought to an abrupt and gruesome end.

"I didn’t tell him… but he didn’t need me to talk..." Elizabeth’s voice came in a trembling whisper. Her hand trembling as she held the hot coffee, the heat doing nothing to calm the cold in her bones. Fear was etched into every corner of her face."He forced his way into my mind... for it's location." She clutched the blanket wrapped around her like armor. "The vault is protected by barriers, no supernatural should be able to pass… So he hypnotized me—used my body to bypass the barrier and bring the box to him."Her eyes met Palmer’s and then swept across the room. “When he entered my head… I felt like I was inside his, too. But Damien...he wasn’t there. There was Just… darkness.”"No..." Sarah shook her head violently. "Damien has to be in there. Somewhere. There must be a way to bring him back." She turned to Palmer, eyes wet and desperate. "You’ll save him, right? Please tell me you will."Palmer’s gaze met hers, and for a moment, his silence was heavier than any answer. He clench

Father Orion stood in the cathedral, facing the immaculate statue of the Hero. The sunlight, fractured by the stained-glass windows, cast vibrant, broken patterns across the cold concrete floor. He seemed lost in deep thought, an unsettling premonition hanging heavy in the air. The cathedral's bell began to toll, its deep, mournful clang vibrating through the very stone, a somber prelude to the disquiet Father Orion felt. It was as if the ancient building itself wept.Vasquez and Garghat were already seated at the table. Suddenly, the cathedral's massive door swung open with a loud creak, and measured footsteps approached. "Why have you summoned us on such short notice, your Grace?" Gorion's voice echoed through the cavernous space."I'm sorry for calling out to you all on such short notice. As you might already know, it is a dread emergency," Father Orion replied, his voice grave."Are you retiring your position as Grand Elder already? It's not that time of the year yet, is it?" Va

In the heart of a thick forest, isolated from the rest of the world, stood a castle that looked like a menacing fortress. Its very essence exuded dread, the forest around it standing eerily quiet. On the front gate, boldly etched, was the name 'D'Angelo'. A sonic boom shattered the quiet. Dust erupted across the courtyard as Damien descended like a meteor, cracking the stone beneath his feet. Pulsing shadows wrapped his body, crimson veins glowing as the markings across his face deepened like scars carved by darkness. Santiago stood outside, dressed in a thick, elegant black suit, as if he had been awaiting his arrival. "Took you long enough. I was beginning to doubt," he said, adjusting the cufflinks of his suit. "Finding my liege is a piece of cake," Damien's voice came in, soft as usual, as he strode towards the mansion. "Good. Now hand over the boxes that you got so we can proceed." Santiago stopped him, his usual Spanish accent evident in his calm tone. Damien glanced

Palmer hoisted Valen onto his back and carried him out of the ruined vault. The sight that greeted them in the yard was chaos— everyone was on the ground, writhing in pain.."Neither of them was the real Valen," Kael gasped, clutching his abdomen."He had us checkmated before we could move a piece," Palmer replied, carefully setting Valen down. "He was thinking three steps ahead... aimed for the orb while avoiding unnecessary fights.""How did he know where to look immediately? That box has the entity's energy sealed; he couldn't have located it that easily," Max said."He must've gotten the orb's location from Damien's memory," Valen replied, already pushing himself up, his face set.Sarah, already pale with dread, gasped. "Doesn't that mean he knows where the Black Orb is as well?""No. If he really tampered with Damien's memory to get the location of the first one, then he won't know where the Black Orb is," Valen asserted, his voice firm and confident. "I hid that box myself. He s

The tension within the Montgomery estate remained a suffocating presence. Damien writhed on the floor, still groaning in excruciating pain as the ominous dark lines continued their relentless spread across his body. Everyone frantically worked to hold him down, desperate to keep him conscious. His eyes flickered open, each time glowing with an unsettling crimson light."His eyes are glowing? His eyes are glowing! Why are his eyes glowing!?" Sarah shrieked, her voice close to breaking."Hey kid, don't give in to him! Keep your eyes open. Don't snooze..." Fenris urged, his voice firm, leaning over Damien."I'm trying... He's... forcing them... Closed..." Damien gasped, his words strained through agony."Damien? Damien, listen to me..." Fenris pressed. "What do you see? What does he look like?"Damien struggled, fighting against the overwhelming force. "... I can't really... Make out his face, but... his eyes are glowing... Just like... Palmer's."Palmer's head snapped up, a cold dread s

"I wished you'd just cease to exist." The woman's voice, ragged and raw, sliced through the air like a rusty blade. Her dark hair, matted and unkempt, clung to her face as she grabbed the little boy's hair, her fingers digging into his scalp, and flung him against the wall of their squalid home.He landed with a thud, his small body crumpling, but his face remained terrifyingly blank. He made no sound, only scraped his nails on the wooden floor as if searching for purchase in the world. She looked as tattered and unkept as her words, barely hanging on to life herself. Stepping forward, she kicked him hard on the head. "Could you just get out of our lives already?""Hey, hey..." A hulking man, clearly drunk, swayed into the room, a cigarette dangling from his lips and a pistol clutched in his hand. "If you really don't wanna see him forever, why don't you just kill him?""We've done that several times, remember," she retorted, covering her mouth as if to stifle a retch. "But he just ke
