Chap 10 Going Well.

Despite his hunger, Circus remained calm and composed. He had managed to catch three birds, each about the size of a pigeon, and he prepared them to be fried. Since there were no pots available in the bunker, he used a tin to fry the birds. Circus skillfully placed the tin over the fire, watching as the flames danced beneath it. The sizzling sound of the birds cooking filled the air, and he patiently waited for them to turn golden brown.

Finally, he sat down to enjoy a delicious meal consisting of the fried birds, bread, and wine. He saved some of the meat for his supper later. The wine had a slight intoxicating effect on him, causing him to fall into a deep sleep right then and there. When he woke up, it was already 6 in the evening. Realizing the time, he quickly packed his belongings, took a quick bath, and locked himself inside the bunker.

Inside the bunker, he had his supper and indulged in more wine, which eventually led him into a deep slumber. Rest was exactly what he needed at that moment.

The next morning, as soon as he woke up, Circus checked on his garden. To his amazement, the nurseries were flourishing with plants. The tomatoes and lettuce in the first four nurseries were growing at an astonishingly rapid pace, indicating that they would soon be ready for harvest. The pink liquid he had used as fertilizer had worked wonders!

Without wasting any time, Circus uprooted the plants from the nurseries and transplanted them into the twelve beds. This task only took him twenty minutes to complete. Now it was time to water the plants. He took out the remaining two barrels of water and another one, which was full of pink liquid, from the previous day.

To enhance the growth of the plants, Circus purchased a 1kg fertilizer gem and dissolved it in one of the two water barrels. He was aware that the water barrel contained almost 160 litres, exceeding the recommended amount for the 1kg gem, which was suitable for 100 liters. However, he didn't have enough coins.

Afterward, he applied the pink liquid from the two barrels to the entire garden except the first four beds; the notification he longed for finally arrived. He remained with one barrel filled with water and applied it to the first four beds. No water remained; he was only left with drinking water from his waterskin, and it would not last a day.

He confirmed the rewards and was surprised to see another two notifications about quest completion. The second notification in particular.

[DAILY QUEST Completed!]

[Congratulations! You’ve been rewarded with 500 grams of strength and 5 Great coins.]

[Confirm to collect the rewards.]

The notification was not for today but for the previous day. He forgot to water the garden the previous day. How was the quest completed?

"So, watering the crops in the morning before the quest arrived still counted?"

[Yeah, it counted. You watered the crops yesterday. No matter if it was before or after you received the quest.]

He nodded with a smile crept on his mouth; it was great for him.

"I CONFIRM ALL THE REWARDS."

He muttered, and all the notifications disappeared as all the rewards were sent to his inventory and his profile.

As anticipated, a wooden chest emerged. Upon opening it, he discovered 100 planks of wood, 100 lettuce seeds, and 100 seeds, just like the previous contents. The items within the wooden chest appeared to be constant and unchanging. In fact, only the quantity seemed to change.

He confirmed the rewards, and another notification arrived.

Upon reviewing the QUEST DASHBOARD, the quests were somewhat similar to the ones from the previous time. However, there were changes in terms of rewards, as well as the SIDE QUEST 2 and the MAIN QUEST.

The SIDE QUEST 2 was now to master ploughing II skill because the weeding II skill had already been mastered. As for the MAIN QUEST, it entailed expanding the farm to a minimum of 200 square meters. This presented quite a large area for him to weed, till, and prepare for the upcoming crops.

"I needed bulls to help with the ploughing and also to find water… and also… food. The bread won’t last two days." Circus realized that he needed additional resources to accomplish the tasks at hand. In addition to bulls for ploughing and finding water, he also needed to secure a sustainable source of food to ensure his survival throughout the farming process.
