The words Prexy had spoken to Adams really got to him. He couldn't deny that she was right. Although he loved the game, reality mattered as well. He couldn't allow the bullies to stop him from exploring new places and living his life. At his age, he needed to socialize more, experience new things, and see places beyond the familiar streets around his home. But he couldn't do any of that freely because the bullies were always attacking him and his friends.

I think now is the time to unleash our master plan, friends.

Adams spoke inwardly, then raised his head. He grabbed his bicycle and rode toward the entrance of the house, where his two friends were already waiting beside their bikes.

Lio, Henry, and Adams had been best friends for a long time. They had faced countless challenges together and had even fought among themselves from time to time, but they always found their way back to each other. Every argument, every difficult moment, and every challenge had only strengthened the bond between them.

Among the group, Lio was the most intelligent. He had curly brown hair, brown eyes, and a chubby build. Because of his love for food, his friends had nicknamed him Mr. Munchies. He always carried snacks wherever he went, and right now, while waiting for Adams, he had already pulled a pack of cheese-flavored snacks from his bag and was chewing on them while sitting on his blue bicycle. Lio was also extremely serious about his studies. He had practically forced his friends to create a four-hour study session every weekend, during which they studied together while he gave them extra lessons. His dedication had helped the entire group, and they consistently came out with good grades.

In the game world, Lio ranked last among his friends, but that didn't mean he was weak. He was still one of the highest-ranked players on the global leaderboard, making many players regard him as a legend. In fact, he probably wouldn't have started playing the game if it weren't for the influence of his friends. Although he had grown to love the game, he never allowed it to consume more time than his studies.

Right next to him, sitting on a pink bicycle, was Henry, the funniest member of the group. He was always making jokes whenever he was with his two best friends, helping them forget about the harsh reality surrounding them. Henry had a slightly muscular build, blue eyes, and curly black hair. Although he was handsome, girls rarely approached him because of the way the bullies had treated him and his friends.

In the game, Henry ranked second among the three friends. He had tried countless times to claim the number-one position, but Adams never gave him the chance to hold it for long. Whenever Henry managed to take first place, he wouldn't even remain there for twenty-four hours before Adams reclaimed the position and began grinding even harder, widening the gap between them.

Adams rode his bicycle toward Lio first and brought it to a stop beside him. Without getting off, he stretched out his hand.

Lio leaned slightly to the side and reached out to meet him. Their palms smacked together twice before they clasped hands and gave each other a firm shake. They pulled their hands apart, bumped their knuckles together, slapped their palms once more, and finished with another quick shake.

Adams then reached forward and grabbed Lio by the shoulder, pulling him slightly closer as they laughed. After letting go, he turned his bicycle toward Henry, who was waiting a short distance away.

Adams rode over to him and repeated the same handshake. Their palms met twice with sharp slaps before they clasped hands and shook firmly. Their knuckles bumped together, followed by another palm slap and a final shake. Adams then reached out, grabbed Henry by the shoulder, and pulled him closer for a quick, friendly shoulder bump before letting go.

The entire exchange lasted only a few seconds, but it was a familiar ritual between the three friends. They had done it so many times that they could perform the entire routine effortlessly without even getting off their bicycles.

They soon continued down the road, pedaling side by side. Adams was in the middle, Henry was on his left, and Lio was on his right. With just a single glance, Henry could tell that something was bothering Adams.

"What's up, dude? Why the sad look?" Henry asked.

Adams let out a long breath.

"Huff..."

He took a deep breath, keeping his eyes on the road as he continued pedaling.

"I had a little argument with my sister, and everything she said was true. We're letting the bullies control our physical lives when there's so much more for us to experience. We can't go to certain places because of them, and I'm fucking tired of it."

"We're all tired of it," Henry replied. He couldn't lie. Adams was right.

"Damn... That shit makes me depressed most of the time," Lio added. Every time they were bullied, he felt terrible afterward and kept wondering when all of this would finally come to an end.

"So, what about we unleash our master plan today?" Adams asked.

"The plan we made a few months ago?" Lio asked. "We aren't ready yet, so the plan won't be possible."

Because the group had been bullied countless times, they had come up with a plan months ago that they believed could help them stand against their tormentors. The plan was simple: they would enroll in combat classes, train harder, and build enough confidence to defend themselves if the bullies attacked them again.

When Lio first introduced the idea, they had all agreed to it. However, after attending combat classes for only a few days, they stopped going. The game had completely captured their attention, and they eventually began seeing the combat classes as a distraction from their virtual lives.

"Are you for real, Adams?" Henry asked. "We barely take our combat classes seriously. What makes you think today is the day we're finally ready to stand against the bullies?"

Henry stared at Adams as he spoke. He wasn't smiling, and his eyes remained focused on the road. He hadn't expected such a response from his friend. He had hoped Adams would come up with something positive, something that would make them feel ready to face their problems.

"It's alright. I see you guys aren't interested, so I'll be doing it alone."

Adams increased his pace, but before he could get too far ahead, his friends quickly caught up with him.

"We're friends, Adams. We can't let you do this alone. We'll be joining you as well," Henry said. "Remember our code. Anything that happens to one happens to all."

A small smile appeared on Adams's face.

"Yeah, we're brothers, Adams. We can't let you do it alone," Lio added. "And don't forget, if things go bad, we have Code Red."

He paused for a moment before grinning.

"Which means we're running for our dear lives."

The three friends laughed, nodded at one another, and continued riding toward school.

The School of Angels was one of the most beautiful buildings in the entire city of Angels.

The school consisted of three large buildings: one for middle school students, one for high school students, and another for the teachers and administrative staff.

The school was called the Heart of Angels because the three buildings were arranged in the shape of a large triangle in the center of Angels City. Surrounding the buildings were wide green lawns, paved walkways, and several recreational areas where students could gather during breaks.

In the schoolyard, dozens of teenagers dressed in white button-up shirts, ties, and blue trousers talked and laughed with their friends. Classes had not yet begun, so many students were still hanging around outside, enjoying the last few moments before the morning lessons started.

*SCREECH!*

Adams and his friends came to a halt near the bicycle parking area. They immediately stepped off their bikes and locked them to the metal racks.

It hadn't even been a minute before the whispers began.

"Three weak dudes," a student whispered to her friends after spotting Adams and his friends.

"Handsome and intelligent weak men," another girl added, causing her group to burst into laughter.

"Bullies punching them back? They're just useless," another student said as she walked past the three boys.

Although they heard every word, none of them reacted. They had become accustomed to the insults. Besides, they had a mission to accomplish, and if their plan succeeded, they believed all of this would eventually come to an end.

Adams, Henry, and Lio continued walking without responding to the students around them.

They stepped into the hallway, which was lined with rows of lockers. The three friends were heading toward their lockers when a group of five students approached them.

They were another group of bullies, and they had a habit of collecting money from Adams and his friends.

"Hello, group of scums," the student in the middle said. "Do the usual and hand over your money."

He had a huge build and a rough-looking face. His followers looked just as careless, their uniforms untidy and wrinkled, but none of them seemed to care.

As usual, one of them stepped forward to collect the money.

*THWACK!*

Adams suddenly threw a punch at the bully. The punch landed awkwardly, but it was still enough to hurt.

The sound immediately drew everyone's attention. The hallway fell unusually quiet as students turned toward them, shocked by what they had just witnessed.

Adams had been the one who threw the first punch.

His two best friends stood beside him, already trembling. They weren't ready for this, but they had promised Adams they wouldn't let him face the bullies alone.

"Dammit..." Lio muttered under his breath. "Now that we've made the first move, what's next? They're definitely going to crush us."

He looked toward the bullies and noticed the fury in their eyes. The student Adams had punched slowly straightened himself, his expression changing from surprise to anger.

"Code Red!" Lio suddenly shouted and without waiting another second, he turned and sprinted toward the school entrance. Henry immediately followed.

Adams knew he couldn't defeat five bullies by himself, so he quickly turned and ran as well, the bullies chased after them.

“Move! Excuse me!” Lio yelled as he pushed past the students gathered near the hallway entrance.

“Watch it, Lio!” a girl on crutches snapped after he accidentally bumped into her.

“I’m sorry!” he called over his shoulder, barely slowing down.

Lio didn’t look back. He sprinted out of the school, leaving his bicycle behind, and rushed into a nearby alley. Henry followed closely behind, with Adams right after him.

The bullies were still chasing them.

“You’re dead, Adams!” the bully he had punched shouted as he ran after them.

“Damn... I should have listened to my friends. We weren’t ready for this yet.”

Adams swallowed hard and forced himself to keep running.

The three friends reached the end of the alley and quickly crossed the road, glancing in both directions as they hurried across. Henry made it to the other side first, followed closely by Lio, while Adams trailed behind them.

“Just know that you’ll be fine. Oh, I can’t love anyone...” A truck driver sang along to the song playing through his speaker as he drove at high speed. His eyes briefly closed as he tried to remember the next verse. When he opened them, however, his expression instantly changed.

A figure in a school uniform stood only a few meters in front of his truck.

“Wait—!”

*SCREECH!*

The truck driver slammed on the brakes and desperately tried to regain control, but it was too late. The truck crashed into the students with a deafening impact.

The force of the collision sent Adams flying through the air like a rag doll. His body twisted violently before he crashed onto the pavement, the impact so brutal that it silenced everyone who witnessed it.

“Adams!” Henry screamed when he saw his friend hit the ground. Deep down, he knew Adams could barely have survived the impact.

“Adams, no!” Lio cried out in pain.

Henry and Lio immediately rushed toward Adams, who lay motionless on the pavement, his uniform covered in blood. Adams tried to look at them, but he could barely move or speak.

“Stay with us, Adams,” Henry muttered through his tears as he carefully lifted Adams by the shoulders and placed his head on his lap.

“Please, Adams... stay with us,” Lio pleaded, tears streaming down his face.

He then turned toward the truck driver, who had climbed out of the vehicle and stood frozen beside it. Overwhelmed by anger and grief, Lio walked toward him and struck him in the chest.

“Look what you’ve done to our friend!” Lio shouted through his tears, hitting the terrified driver again before Henry called his name.

*WEE-OOO! WEE-OOO!*

From a distance, the sound of an approaching ambulance siren grew louder. Within moments, the ambulance arrived at the scene at full speed. Five paramedics quickly jumped out and rushed toward Adams, pushing a stretcher across the pavement.

They carefully lifted Adams onto the stretcher and began attending to him immediately.

That was the last thing Adams saw before his eyes slowly closed, darkness swallowing his vision.
