CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

He just stood there like he had been struck by lightning. This was something he didn’t expect coming from her. They are words he had been longing to hear from her. Words he wanted her to say to him so badly.

But with time, he never expected them anymore. He lost all interest in hearing her tell him those three words. Why did she have to do this to him at a time like this? All he wanted now was to forget about her and focus on his business and life.

He suffered so much at the hands of this family and he never wanted to do anything with them anymore. He no longer wanted anything that tired him with them.

But now she just told him she loved him. She brought joy to his heartbeat, back to life again. Suddenly, he felt like a heavy weight was lifted off his shoulders.

He felt peace and comfort again. Something he had lost a long time ago. He kept telling himself he was over her and after she nearly killed him, he never wanted anything to do with her. But maybe those were just words he used
