Austin stood at the entrance of the administration block of Lincoln University. He made his way to the secretary, the beautiful lady in her mid-thirties.

“Good morning; I am here to see the vice-chancellor.” He muttered politely.

The woman stared at him from head to toe, “Do you have an appointment with him?”

Austin shook his head, “No, but I am here for something important. It’s urgent.”

“You can’t see him; he is not on seat,” she responded.

Austin could tell she was lying, but he maintained his composure. “Please, help me.”

The woman shot him a disdainful look, “Are you deaf? He is not available at the moment. You can go and come back when he is around.” She shouted at him.

“You don’t have to raise your voice at me,”

“What do you mean?” She snapped.

Austin kept mute, as he glanced around the bustling room. Staff and students could be seen walking around, some with files while others had their bags behind them.

“Tell him, I am Austin Davis.”

“I don’t care to know who you are; you should get going before I call the security to throw you out.”

Austin frowned; the lady was taking it too far. He doesn’t want to use his authority knowing fully well that even the chancellor would come crawling to him. But it seems the lady wound leave him with no choice.

Austin shoved out his phone and texted Ryan Daniel. “I am at the university, the secretary is giving me an unexpected attitude. I want you to inform the Vice-Chancellor I am around. But don’t tell him who I am.”

Immediately, Ryan texted back. “Okay, on it.”

Austin let out a displeasing smile. The Secretary glared at him in disdain.

A few minutes later, the vice chancellor, Mr. Antony Rossi, ambled forward. A man in his earlier fifties, he wore a nice tailored suit.

He walked towards the secretary, “Susan, I was informed a man named Austin Davis is here to see me. Where is he?”

Susan pointed at Austin, and Anthony Rossi walked towards Austin.

“Hello, I am Anthony Rossi. Are you Austin Davis?”

Austin gave him an approving smile, “Yes, I am.”

“It’s nice to meet you, Come on, let’s go to the office,” Anthony responded.

Austin glanced at the secretary for the last time before he walked behind Anthony.

When they got to his office, Anthony offered Austin a seat which he obliged.

Anthony sat across and leaned forward with his hand placed above the desk. “So to what do I owe this surprise visit.” He asked in curiosity.

Austin sighed softly, “Mr. Anthony, I have a brother in your school, name Charlie Davis. Yesterday, he was rushed to the general hospital. And after interrogating him, I was informed he was beaten up by some students from the same school.”

He continued, after a moment of pause. “I came because I need to see those students and for the school management to do something about it.”

Anthony nodded, as he listened intently to Austin’s words. “Mr. Austin, I thank you for bringing this to my knowledge. But this is the first time I have come to know of something like this. Can you please give me the names of the students in question?”

“Sure.” Austin promptly responded, he took out his phone where he had written the names of the students. “Here are the names.”

Austin slid the phone to Anthony Rossi; the man took a glance at the names of the three students.

“Ferdinand Charles, Roland Jerry, and Chris Augustus.”

Anthony raised his brow, “Are you sure about what you are saying.” He was trying to cover up; these students were from a rich family, and he Is friends with their parents.

“Yes, I am sure.”

Anthony handed Austin his phone, “I have seen the names, I will handle it my way.”

Austin glanced at the man; he suspected some foul play was about to happen. If he had wanted to deal with them his way he would have done it without coming to the school.

“I want them to be dealt with right away, you can call them into your office. I also have something to tell them.”

Anthony frowned; he was shocked by Austin’s audacity; it was obvious he wasn’t ready to leave.

“I am sorry, but I said I will handle it. You can leave.”

Austin wasn’t surprised by the kind of treatment he was getting from everyone since his arrival. Starting from the security guard to the vice-chancellor.

“Get me the boys or I am not leaving here.”

Anthony scoffed, “Young man, I can see you are taking my politeness for granted. I am only acting this way because I was called by Ryan Daniels. If not, I would.”

Annoyed, Austin cut him off. “You would have called the security to throw me out, is that it?”

“You are smart, but don’t try to act too big of yourself. You might have a connection with Ryan Daniels, but that doesn’t mean I will keep shut and watch you talk to me in such a manner.”

Austin said with gritted teeth “Is this how you handle similar cases? You are covering up for them because they have rich parents, and you don’t want their parents to cut off your allowance for covering for their kid’s rude attitude towards other students.”

“Don’t dare! You are crossing your boundaries.” Anthony spat.

“You know they say the truth is always bitter, but nothing is more bitter than telling a man the truth right to his face,” Austin said firmly.

Anthony gritted his teeth as he clenched his fist visible. “You should apologise to me before I make sure you face the consequences. And Charlie will also be expelled from this school.”

“As if I care! You can’t do more than a dead rat. Get me those boys or else you will be the one begging for your job.” Austin blurted out with anger.

Anthony’s face turned red, as his expression darkened. He took the intercom from his desk and called for the security.

Austin was unfazed by his threats, after he had watched Anthony with his call, he texted Ryan Daniel. “I want you to send some men over to the chancellor’s office. He is trying to act hard. Send me a report about the vice chancellor, everything you can get your hands on and also send the kid’s parents to the school immediately.”

“Alright, I am on it. Should I come over?” Ryan asked.

“Sure, if you can.”

After that, Austin tilted his head, “You have a few seconds to apologise to me and get me those boys before something bad happens to you.” Austin warned.

“I will see who laughed last after this, no school will accept Charlie, and you will get sacked from your job. You don’t know who you are dealing with.”

The door burst open as three hefty men in uniform stormed into the office, keeping a stoic expression. Eyes shining like predators waiting to descend on their prey.

“I want this man to be thrown out of this office immediately.” Anthony commanded.

His heart was thrilled with excitement.“Thank you, Mr. Davis. I appreciate it.” Asher smiled, giving the man two Extra pills, “You shouldn’t take them at the same time, it will be dangerous for your health. You can sell them or keep them for the future.” ‘No, I don’t think I will sell them. I will keep them for the future, like you said,” he replied.“Mr. Brian, your son Antonio has been a problem in my neck, I am only keeping a blind eye because of you. I will not take it easy on him the next time.” Austin stated.“I am sorry, Mr. Davis. I will handle my son when I get home. That shouldn’t be a problem.” He replied. The men continued to talk. “You need to stop taking this lightly,” he said. “Your health is declining faster than you realise. If you keep brushing it off… You won’t last long. Drinking is making things worse. Your kidneys are already strained. If you keep pushing your body like this, it won’t be the enemies outside that take you down, it’ll be what’s eating you from the inside.”“How did he figure this out?” Was he truly a doctor just as Ruddy said? Should I open up to him and seek his help?” Mr. Brian thought inwardly. But what surprised him the most was that Austin only looked at his palm and his eyes to know what was wrong with him. “Mr. Davis, you are right about everything you just said. I am sick and the doctor said I will not last long, but I can’t stop drinking, not with what I am going through every day. Take a look at my only son, always getting me into trouble, my business has not fully recovered after what happened some months ago.”The old man almost dropped in tears as he watched Austin who kept

I have thought about it and don’t want to be lazy anymore, so I thought about going through the company’s documents because I want to know part of it.” Monica raised her brow as she stared at her mother for a moment, unsure of what to say. “I don’t understand, Mom. What are you planning?”Mrs. Sarah only smiled as she stared at Monica’s confused face. “What’s there that you don’t understand, I want to be part of the company. I will be taking the new role as Chief executive officer of the company.” Monica shook her head in disagreement. She couldn’t allow her mother to come into the company all of a sudden. She knew her mother was coming to the company because of something she couldn’t figure out. “No, Mom. You can just wake up one morning and decide you want to take a major role in the company. It’s impossible, I can’t allow that to happen.”She stared at Monica coldly, wi
