Austin was impatient; Charlie wasn’t back home, unlike him. He had tried reaching out to him and all to no avail, His mind reeling with several thoughts.

He made a few orders, it was Charlie’s birthday, and Austin wanted to make it remarkable for him. Both had stayed together for almost a decade.

The door swung open as Charlie walked inside looking exhausted.

Austin informed him to get dressed, which he obliged and joined him as they made their way to the surprise location Austin had refused to talk about. Both were dressed in a casual outfit.

They arrived at the restaurant, it was a grand, opulent and dazzling chandelier hanging from the ceiling, waiters in sharp uniforms moving swiftly

Austin and Charlie walked through the plush dining area, passing extravagant tables with elegant guests. Austin gave Charlie an encouraging smile.

“Happy birthday Charlie. Tonight, you are in for a treat. Order whatever you want.” Austin said grinning.

Charlie’s eyes widened in surprise; the atmosphere was overwhelming for him, and he hardly believed he was at the restaurant.

“You mean, anything….” Charlie stammered.

Austin giggled, shaking his head. “Yes, anything. It’s your night. Enjoy it. Don’t hold back.”

Charlie’s face lit up in excitement; he felt like embracing Austin; he had always been like a brother and father to him.

“What could I have done without you? I might have still been on the street begging or eating from leftovers.” He thought as a drop of tears left his eyes.

“Don’t tell me you are feeling emotional,” Austin uttered.

Charlie managed to wipe the tears from his cheeks, “Thank you, Mr. Austin.”

He glanced at the menu, his finger almost shaking as he flipped through the pages of gourmet dishes.

“You deserve the best, so take your time,” Austin muttered seeing the confused look on his face.

The waiter approached, smiling politely but having a mixed feeling inwardly. He wondered if they would be able to afford a meal.

Charlie raised his head, placing an order. Austin placed his order, the waiter nodded as he took the orders.

As the waiter walked away, Charlie leaned back as he felt excited. He glanced around the hall and then back to Austin.

“You are a king tonight. It’s your nineteenth birthday, and I want you to enjoy every moment.”

While they await their orders, Suddenly, Monica and her lover, Gerald, walk into the restaurant. They spotted Austin and Charlie, her expression a mix of disdain.

Gerald looked equally unimpressed.

“Look who is living up to expectation,” Monica uttered sarcastically. “You really do like playing pretend, don’t you, Austin. Do you think coming here to have a meal will make me change my mind about you? Stop the showoff.”

Charlie frowned and was about to make a move when Austin winked at him.

“What do you think you want to do,” Monica glared at Charlie. “I can see you have no respect for elders.”

“Leave the boy out of this,” Austin said, “You should take your sissy of a man somewhere, there are many free spaces here.”

Charlie chuckled and used his hand to cover his mouth.

“What did you just say?” Gerald’s face contorted with rage.

“Oh, I forgot. Mr. Benson.” Austin in sarcasm. “I didn’t see you. I thought it was someone else.”

What were they thinking when they approached Austin?

“You should better mind the way you talk to people, you don’t know where your help would come from,” Monica said with her voice laced with disgust.

“Why do you think I will ask for help from someone who I am better than in every area of life.”

Charlie giggled, using his hand to cover his mouth. While Gerard’s face turned red, Monica’s face flushed in anger.

“Look who is talking, I am sure. You are making use of your life savings, which I am sure is not even worth my daily expenses.” She blurted out. “Let me see how you manage to make payment when you finish eating. I guess you didn’t check the price on the menu.”

‘If I can’t make a payment, I wouldn’t have come here in the first place. How about you sit somewhere and place an order? I will handle the Bill.” Austin said.

Sure, he could handle the bills with just a swipe of his exclusive card.

Monica and Gerard exchanged glances, then chuckled wryly. “I hate when people brag a lot, you should be the one begging me to help pay your bill. But guess, what? I will do that if only you would knee and lick my shoe.”

Austin raised his brow, looking at Gerald from head to toe. “Your shoe is not worthy of my tongue.”

“I am sure you can’t afford it, not even your payment as a local doctor could afford it. It will take ten of your generation to even get this.” Gerard replied.

Austin got up from his seat, took a wine glass from another table, and poured on Gerald’s shoes. Leaving everyone in awe.

Monica’s mouth agape in shock, as her expression darkened.

“How dare you? Do you know how much my shoe is worth?” Gerald barked, as he clenched his fist.

Monica gripped his arm, stopping him from taking a step. Her eyes scanned the area. If Gerald should make me move, it would ruin his reputation.

People might see him as someone violent. it will not be a good way to act as the heir to the Benson's family.

Austin was getting on their nerves, but it was all their fault; if they had gone straight to their seat, this would never have happened.

“You are lucky, I am in a good mood. I would have taught you a lesson you will never forget in your lifetime.” He sneered. “But let me warn you, I will come after you and make sure I deal with you.”

Austin shook his head, as he smiled. “I will be waiting for you, I hate men who only threaten people without taking action.”

Monica, seeing how the crowd were looking, grabbed Gerald by his arm and took him to the restroom to clean up his shoes.

The waiter returns with their order, placing the sizzling steak in front of Charlie and Austin.

They both enjoyed their meal, While Monica and Gerald walked towards their seat when they returned to the hall. Gerald’s face was filled with rage, he kept staring at Austin with disdain. He wished he could strangle him to death.

They placed an order, as they wait the waiters.

Suddenly, five thugs walked into the restaurant, their cold eyes scanning around. Their menacing presence immediately shifted the mood of everyone around. They walked with purpose, their boots thudding against the marble floor as they headed straight for Monica and Gerald.
